A little fun fact: As They said in the show.. Right before pronouncing the winner " The winner of Norways got talent and 500.000 Nok!" (Norwegian kroner). She won 500k nok of this show and the thing she did was to donate it away.. 8 years old and donation that much money. Absolutely incredible. Im not sure on what charity she donated to but i know that this is not the only time she donated.. She really is something else. I would recommend *I'd rather go blind* (she's 13 or 14. Im not sure) And *Im still holding out for you* (10 years old) which is a leaked song and was never ment to be released.. Alot of people dont know about this hidden gem and the ones who know about it says its her best one. Also Bohemian rhapsody is a must. Even queen themselves tweeted on twitter "wow what a rendition." And gave Angelina rights to record her version of the song.

They asked Angelina what she would do with her prize money, thinking she'd say something like 'get a puppy'. ❤ Instead she said she was giving it away to children in need. ❤
Nick, a month after winning NGT, the national TV invited Angelina Jordan (AJ) to sing at this show, to introduce her to the whole nation. Her voice was that of Dinah Washington, I heard a mashup with Dinah, and for a layman it is impossible to hear who sings what part. Norwegians told us, that only 2 or 3 weeks later Angelina Jordan Astar (her real name) was made a noble woman, declared by King and country, THE NATIONAL TREASURE OF NORWAY. In Scandinavia, it is considered, to be a honor to work with and for her. Her humbleness and kind way, won her friends all over the world. Her nickname coined by those musicians of the "Spell" video is THE BOSS. Today musicians all over this world call her that. A kind, friendly BOSS, who knows exactly what she wants. She is CEO of "Angelina Jordan Inc." since age 12, and has full freedom at Republic Records, her label. Funfact is, her pianist is a two-times grammy winner and director of the RR Studios LA, Rob Christie, he is a friend, mentor and guardian angel in persona.
In an interview with one of the judges after the competition, he said that after her first two performances the judges didn’t know what to make of her. They knew she was a great singer but didn’t know if she was a real artist or just a great mimic. The judge checked in on her reversal for Bang Bang and saw her discussing with the guitarist about what she wanted and how she wanted him to play. He said he knew then and there that she was the real deal.
@@nickforell1 Speaking of rehearsals and being the Real Deal, there's a video where she is rehearsing "Summertime" sometime after winning the competition (not before, as some people think). There's a lot going on that I won't bother explaining here, but at one point, the trumpet player begins to ask what key they are going to be shifting to for the next verse, or maybe what note he should start with, and before he can even finish the question Angelina says, "Ais", meaning A-sharp. She then proceeds to sing an A-sharp. The girl knew her stuff, even at that young of an age (still 8).
Here is a quote from Angelina (7y) from an interview with TV2 after her Auditions NTG 2014. "The reason I chose this song is completely random. I love jazz, but" Gloomy Sunday "was random. It was a night I could not sleep and my mother was stressed that I was awake long after midnight. Then I borrowed my mom's iPad where I wanted to listen to jazz on TH-cam before I fell asleep. Then came a picture of a beautiful lady screaming at the sky and with her eyes closed. I heard the song "Gloomy Sunday" that night and then I had to hear it every day. I love the melody. I understood well what the text was about because I know English well. Every time I sang it I felt something special about it, it's hard to explain in words. When I sang it for mom, she said that this song is nice, but that it was incredibly sad song. " ♥👣👸🏻🎷 In a interview after this performance Angelina's mom was asked why she was crying during her performance?? Were they happy tears?? Mom said; " They were happy tears but they were also sad tears because I know I just lost my daughter to the world. ♥👣👸🏻🎷 Gloomy Sunday. You'll notice the last judge (the one with his mouth open) asked her if she knew what the song was about. I believe he was asking to see if she was aware of the history of the song. That's because 'Gloomy Sunday' is known to history as 'The Hungarian Suicide Song' and was banned in parts of Europe during WWI because many believed the song had led to a rash of suicides in the population. Angelina, unaware of this at the time, I'm sure, simply replied Yes, it's about a sad Sunday and I think the judge was pleased to realize she had a simple child's view of the song and it's meaning. Thus the comment in essence Yes I could feel that sad sunday. Amazing Angelina would start her career with such a controversial song. ♥👣👸🏻
Absolutely agree, Angelina does NOT waste a moment. She is 100% dedicated to every single moment from beginning to end. Watch closely, you will see her enter and exit a separate persona when she sings. She a child one moment, the next she is an absolute seasoned professional; then swoosh, a child again.
10 finalist and she received 46% of the votes. 8 YEARS OLD!!! Such a genius. She does all genres. Next maybe dive into her Adele covers. About 7-9 of them. I would start with Someone Like You at 13, All I Ask at 14 and Easy on Me at 15 or16. You will find that she takes every iconic cover to the next level. If you prefer chronological go to Rusty Shackleford's playlist. He is the Angelina Guru
DEFINITELY "i'd rather go blind",... Definitely the in studio whitney Houston tribute "I have Nothing" (in studio singing into a microphone). Her cover of the John Legend "all of me" "I'm still holding out for you" is EPIC!!!
What’s really incredible about these performances is that you can see real growth from one performance to another and it’s over a matter of just a few months. Regarding being nervous, Angelina has said that she never gets nervous, even at a young age. She loves singing for people so much that she is excited to be on stage to allow her to do that.
A while back I counted from memory nine different genres she has ventured into, and if you started with any one of them you would probably say that she picked the perfect song for her voice and style. That's how crazy good she is. Angelina takes on the most iconic, and difficult songs from the greats, over many genres and generations.
As amazing as every part of her singing is, we have to remember that this is a girl that was still 7 in the first video and 8 in the last three, not only sounding like someone years older, but an 8 year old memorizing the words to 4 different songs and singing them to perfection, in a language that isn't her native language. I feel so blessed to be alive to watch her share her gift, and I hope I am still around to see her reach her dream of "super star" and sing for the world.
These are hard songs to sing for anyone at any age. Angelina sings them so calmly and with all the essence they were meant to have. Where to go now? AGT BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY!
Well done, Nick; you don't need my recommendation any longer, because it's clear you are now under her spell and have willingly become a dedicated Angelina fan. Keep up the good work dude.
@@nickforell1 Obviously, all of her Performances on America's Got Talent Champions edition 2 years ago would be my next choice. Especially her Bohemian Rhapsody performance because it is her own arrangement; it showed off her talents in her astounding vocal and arranging skills, which Simon Cowell clearly recognized on the show.
Evoking emotion... Exactly. I'm a 73 year old retired jazz musician. I love all styles of music. I've never been so moved by music as I have been by Angelina Jordan. Every time I time I hear her. I don't understand it. I just close my eyes and let my life be graced by her talent and humanity.
Angelina is the most unique person I have ever seen. Her soul is from a time lost. This kind of person only comes around every hundred years or so. SIMPLY AMAZING!!!!!!
what you mention is correct that at first she seems a little nervous... but as soon as she sings the first note all nervousness disappears... as she herself says... ¨when she sings, she moves to a different place, a place beautiful ¨ ... what we would give to be able to be in that place only reserved for those truly chosen by the hand of God...
I'm so glad you watched all four performances on NGT. Her development in these few months is astounding! I agree with you that her performance of Summertime is the best, and the detail in her individual notes, the way she slides up onto them, swoops down, dazzles with vibrato, varies the intonation! I can listen to the same song over and over again and still find something I'd missed. As for where to go next - tricky one! Personally, I'd recommend jumping a few years and checking out Cry Me A River from the Proysenfestivalen, which is in the same mould of smooth jazzy performances. Or for something completely different, I'm Still Holding Out For You, which she recorded just before she turned 11.
Prepare yourself to be blown away. In these performances, she sets the bar so high that everyone expects her to stumble at some point and not be able to maintain that level of quality, dare I say near perfection. But to this day, she has kept that high bar in every performance I have seen. Prodigy is not an over-assessment of her talent, not just as a vocalist but also as a genuinely inciteful musical arranger. In all of her covers, she rearranges the song to fit her vocal style and capabilities and maintains the original essence of the music to preserve the original writer's intent. That is why often when the original writer or song owner hears her covers, they respond positively and sometimes even give permission for her to record her arrangement. That, my friends, clearly indicates professional respect for an upcoming artist. When the likes of the remaining Queen members, Quincy Jones and Elton John, give her their approval, you then know what kind of stellar talent she really is.
Thank you as always for your insight. I was really hoping to see Angelina in an early stage of her career where she wasn’t used to television presumably. I got that and it was sooooo incredible to see where she started from
I think she IS the voice of this generation. And her style harkens back to the 40s. It's no wonder she keeps getting invited to Jazz festivals. If you're having one,... you are DEFINITELY inviting Angelina Jordan. She walks onto those stages and KILLS IT!!! She just destroys the place. You gotta see it to believe it.
Definitely the 40s and even the late 30s. The 60s were the beginning of the rock era with groups like "The Animals", "The Beatles", "CCR", "Led Zeppelin", "The Doors", "Elvis", "The Tokens", "Buffalo Springfield" and others. These were the groups I was getting in to, and my Dad wouldn't let me play them in our house. His quote was, "None of that damn hippie music in this house." 😂
AJ's maturity over a few short months is just remarkable. She essentially becomes a professional singer in the course of this competition. And ha! Yes, Magnus is from Norway. And check out Aurora!
That acapella performance was so on point ❤️ Thats insane ! I think if i was on that show performing, I would have thought.... why did i have to go this year 🤔🤣
Sorry Nick but I see no nervousness, I see shyness and excitement. She’s in her world, her mind is at peace. Also, as far as I’ve heard, she has done her own arrangements since this show. Some songs she arranges completely, others she stays close to the original, especially when doing a tribute.
We love her bro. She's like family. She's just beautiful inside and out. I can't explain it. She's everything that's still good and gorgeous in the world.
She burst onto the scene really strong,... as you can see. It did not take long for her to start showing up everywhere. There is a lot of her to look into. She's done some amazing TH-cam covers, quite a lot of them. She's done TV shows and live stages. Currently she is putting out her own videos and showing up at live Jazz festivals where she brings the house down (trust me, if you are having a Jazz festival, you are DEFINITELY inviting her to appear at it). There is a lot of her music to look into.
Which 7 year old u know can do what she did at Norway Got Talent..her teeth were not even all in yet...n she sang like she has lived before...just amazing. Now she is 17...her singing has just gotten better..she is just like fine wine...better w age ❤
While this video is great for having all 4 performances, but I highly recommend people who haven't watched each performance, do so and listen to the judges comments which are almost as remarkable as Angelina's singing. I also recommend reading comments about Angelina both on reaction videos and on her official videos. That is how I learned about Angelina. Hopefully most people will be inspired to either post a new comment or reply to comments, since doing so helps boost the channel on which your comment is posted.
Hi Nick. Back in 27.06.2018. at O2 Arena - London - I went to see a concert for Quincy Jones's 85th birthday. There were a lot of famous stars on stage, Mick Hucknall (simply red) and many others so it was going to be a good concert. The concert started with Quincy Jones introducing a young singer from Norway, who was going to open the show by singing Fly me to the moon in the same arrangement that Quincy Jones did for Frank Sinatra. AJ came on stage, sang the song and everyone was in a state of shock. She wasn't even on the program!! After that I went to TH-cam and followed her ever since. Went to see her in Norway in July last year and she was awesome.
@@johndoe-gt6gp Ha - pure chance in London, but Norway was so good. So many people came to see her from other countries. Met her Mum who was so shocked that the concerts were sold out.
Nick, just caught the very end of the streaming. But I heard you ask, "Can she sing anything?" I suggest you listen to her sing a Country song, 'Crazy'. You'll love it! Welcome and looks like you're joining us for the long haul. Glad to have you aboard!
Kaleidoscope RMX made a mashup with Billie Holidays backtrack on the acapella version of "I'm a Fool To Want You", and it fit perfectly. Unreal. For me this was her real introduction to the world, of her personality, already existing at this age. She sounds like singing from inside of me. Young goddess, presenting her message.
A dear co-commenter told me that the judges were not sure if she mimicked all, or if she really is a genius. When Omer Bathi discovered her rehearsing "BangBang" he witnessed her, telling the fully grown musician how to play his part. Then he KNEW for sure, she is a genius. And he is to this day a dear friend of Angelina and her family. He also introduced her to Michael Jackson´s Family as he was the protege of MJ. Be safe Nick. Elmar from Germany
I think that at 17 she can be ranked right along with the jazz legends from way back in time. I would not be surprised if she isn't someday considered the best of them even though she appeared on the scene in the 21st century long after jazz's heyday. All she really needs now is to produce a catalog of great original music. The teaser video from her new album that came out a few days ago makes me think she is well on her way to that end.
From the very day over four years ago I heard Angelina sing for the first time, (I Put A Spell On You) and I have been absolutely obsessed with and addicted to her voice. In my 68 years on this planet I have never experienced anyone like Angelina. I never go a day without listening to this divinely blessed angel sing. For me, Angelina’s voice has a tangible healing affect on me. There is gold. There is platinum. There is diamond. The there is Angelina Jordan Astar, an extremely rare and precious gem.
I alway enjoy watching the judge's reaction immediately after she finishes her performance of "Gloomy Sunday." They were so mesmerized by what they just heard from a 7 year child that they weren't ready to stand up to applaud! They were still "taking it in", but TV time constraints forced them to stand up and get on with the show. THOSE extra couple MOMENTS were the most PERFECT and VISIBLY unspoken testimonial to Angelina's ability to melt people's hearts. 💖
Great reaction. Meet Angelina Jordan. She,'s 9 here and 17 now. She's a child prodigy. She has the love and support of her family. She was highly influenced by her grandmother, in jazz.
The whole country was speechless after her Gloomy Sunday on NGT. But Summertime, her final performance is just from another world.....She is releasing a new song in the comeing week. Just so you know.
It's literally impossible to resist this incredible little girl, I have lost count of how many times i have seen and heard these wonderful interpretations of her, over the past 10 years, yet she every time she moves me to tears. What a wonderful gift to have had the chance to meet her in our lifetime.💛🧡❤
Great reaction Nick. You are right about her having a hand in arranging these performances, the judges from this program have stated that any doubts they may have had about Angelina disapeared as soon as they saw her directing the guitarist in rehersal before Bang Bang, explaining to him exactly how she wanted it to go down. She is simply a musical savant, and we are the lucky ones who get to see and hear her. Thx.
@@nickforell1 Angelina doesn't get nervous or anxious. She was asked in an interview if she got nervous before performing. She said, basically, 'that singing was like breathing for her, so why would she get nervous to breath'? She also said that when she goes to a magical place when she sings where everything gets more and more beautiful and happy. So when Angelina goes to sing the most nervous she will be is for the questions, for when the music starts she has gone to Angelina-land.
@@nickforell1 just watched this again. Angelina sang last, again. So, if the other people were feeling pretty good about themselves, they weren't any more. About the announcement part of the video, the slightly crazy woman holding two Angelina posters is her grandmother Mery Zamani, then right after that there is a tall guy in a suit jacket who looks like he's crying and his buddy is supporting him I'm pretty sure that is her Uncle Michael, her mom's brother. I think everybody else is backstage watching monitors, because they are there.
I am often at a loss for words, when trying to describe Angelina Jordan's voice, or even, what genre she fits in, & I have come to accept, that she doesn't fit in any category, or genre, & is simply in a league, of her own.....there is something so special about her ability, to tell the songs story, allowing us to listen with a new perspective, and hear & feel emotions, we may not have heard from the original artist 💖💖💖 What an amazing gift Angelina is!!! 💝💝💝 Outside of her comfort zone, would be Whitney Houston's, I have nothing, the 2022 black and white version......
Thanks for taking the time to go back to all 4 of Angelina's NGT performances - at ages 7-8. Really enjoyed your reactions & appreciation for Angelina's amazing performances. Looking forward to more of your Angelina reactions. Here are a few more of her fan favorites: What A Difference A Day Makes - performed outdoors at a Norwegian summer music festival (age 8), Feeling Good -"Live on The Stream Gir Tilbake" (age 10) & Angelina's AGT audition singing Bohemian Rhapsody (age 13). Thank you. And may GOD continue to watch over & bless Angelina Jordan.
@@nickforell1 That sounds great! Btw - one of my other favorite reactors "BrittReacts" reacted to Angelina's I Put A Spell On You about 4 months ago & her channel noted: "Road To 5,000 Subscribers". As of this week - after reacting to 100+ more Angelina reactions - Britt has over 110,000 subscribers!
If you don't mind jumping around the Angelina timeline - Here is a great example of how Angelina sounded in the Summer of 2022 at age 16 performing live - this video is part of a documentary about the 2022 Kongsberg Jazz Festival in Norway - There is a short interview of Angelina in the beginning followed by her performing two of her original songs live in concert: th-cam.com/video/HKK66K5u1Fc/w-d-xo.html
Love your reaction Nick. Take your pick as to which song you want to listen to, the catalog is hugh, a decades worth of competition shows, live performances, practice performances, home setting performances, charities, interviews and much much more. You will see growth from the age of 1 and a half yr old till present at 17. Enjoy it all, we the angels will join you in your journey.
Thank you Abbie, taking my time with Angelina because she is so prolific and she's not going anywhere on this channel because I value her talent so much
She's dropping new music soon...she always stays true to her own style of singing n music. She is signed under Republic Records. The reason why she hasnt blown up yet is because her family is pretty protective of her...wanted her to hv a stable upbringing n education. But it is time now...this is her time now...cant wait to see what she does next
Nick, and she grows from song to song throughout the competition! You've the version I tell people to avoid. Even the 2nd performance has been shortened. The second song was for an elimination round. The 3rd song was the first public voting performance. Of course, she made it to the final. I'm with you. That is the best cover of that song I have heard. My favorite forever. 46% of the vote! Nick, she has been dropping teasers for her single and here is the most current info on that: Claude St-Gelais replied: "Ellen Elizabeth Mae I just read just a couple of hours ago that the song (audio only) will be released at 00.01 Friday morning, local time in all regions." Big hug, Nick. Grandma Ellen, out.
Angelina, nervous? It has never happened. She thrives in that environment. FYI; other than (maybe) opera, there really isn't anything that is out of her comfort zone. She is game to try anything, and it all sounds good.
Check out her cover of Mercy by Duffy. She performed Mercy for the Motion Picture Movie The Hating Game. Great movie and Angelina performs the song for the opening of the movie. She does a little rapping in this one.
Absolutely phenomenal performances Angelina is absolutely a prodigy she is so special, if I had sum up Angelina in one word hypnotic comes to mind, she takes you to another place with her beautiful soulful pitch perfect voice. Great reaction thanks 🙏
Angelina is such a CARING n LOVING SOUL, n her "LIQUID GOLDEN VOICE" is absolutely PERFECT, MESMERIZING, DELICATE, ANGELICAL, MAGICAL, HYPNOTIZING, PURE n FLAWLESS ... n i can keep going ON in this path of WONDERFUL words ab her forever... I NEVER heard or seen any other little girl, or - young girl now - in my entire life with so much VOICE CONTROL n so DELICATE n BEAUTY, giving me "Goose Bumps" all over, EVERYTIME I hear her singing,. Her voice is just so moving. She is capable to "wake up" all your deep feelings within seconds after she star singing. No matter how much i have loved n admired so many awesome Singers in my life before, oh boy!, no other Artist ever made me feel so vulnerable to let my deep feelings just run FREE ... I pray God to keep ANGELINA in her HEALTHY SAFE place, close to her LOVE ONES for ever!!!.... I love your reaction in your face. It's priceless. Keep up your good work !!!... 🙏GOD BLESS🙏...
Did anybody pick that up what Angelina had briefly whispered to herself starting at 14:19? You have to have the volume up to hear her. I am guessing it was something for her to keep her in time. Nice Job Nick!
Maybe she's just catching her breath. But you could also be right about the marker theory. I believe the reason for this could be her excellent acoustic memory. Listen to the Ella Fitzgerald/Louis Armstrong duet - in this part Ella is actually singing (and so is Angelina) but Louis is sort of echoing some of Ella's words and that's what you might be seeing at that particular moment (but not hear clearly). Angelina remembers the original she based her arrangement on like we remember a film sequence. and that's the moment after the short trumpet solo where she had to join in again (Louis mumbles a bit there and we might hear that from Angelina as well at 14: 19).
Great reaction These early years she was influenced by the greats in Jazz and R&B, studied them intently, channeling the sounds of the greats into her style. Today she takes all those influences and with a mature voice greats an unbelievable sound which is getting better and better, enjoy
It is curious to say the least, that we are seeing a "living legend of only 8 years old giving some masterclass"... who even has a little trouble holding the mic... ¡¡¡¡¡ unbelievable ¡¡¡¡
A reaction just as we all knew it would be. I can see from the comments below that other Angels have suggested your next Angelina reaction. Pick any one of them, you can’t go wrong! Looking forward to it!
I’m so happy for you having found Angelina. Been watching her for over eight years and she still brings me to my knees and lifts my heart every time. Enjoy the journey that is beyond mesmerizing.
The accompaniment on Bang, Bang (You Shot Me Down) was not original. This song was originally written by Sonny Bono and first recorded by his wife, Cher. Shortly after its release, it was covered by Nancy Sinatra, which is the version everyone remembers and is the version Angelina performs here. The arrangement for tremolo guitar comes from the Nancy Sinatra recording. That backup on Nancy Sinatra's release was composed and performed by the guitarist, George Strange. It is an absolute genius composition. I give marks to Angelina for understanding that it shouldn't be changed. I also want to give recognition to the writer of one of the most stunning accompaniment pieces ever recorded. Quentin Tarantino used the Nancy Sinatra version in the soundtrack of the opening scene of his movie, Kill Bill. Of course, Angelina gives just as stunning of a performance of that arrangement. And, hats off to the guitarist who accompanied her.
That "Bang, bang" is soo Nancy Sinatra level... I loved 😍😍😍 This must have been the first Angelina I ever heard, a long time ago. Later I returned to the others and to the newer ones - we are dealing here with a real star!!! I just hope nobody brings it down to the level of pop music...
Those four performances really showcased different sides to her talent: The first one was a perfect copy of Billie Holiday; the second one proved her incredible pitch control (she actually nailed each note perfectly); the third one showcased her deep voice (contralto is rare); and the fourth one highlighted her unique vibrato, which is one of her trademarks in all of her performances to the present day.
You are right , she didnt stretch for a higher note. She has a crazy range, but she never flaunts it. But you WILL discover the range, when continue listening. I feel so proud, because she is from my country. Even tho i cant sing. At all. She can make her voice like liquid gold, and i hope you will listen to more of Angelina.
Now that you've reacted to all these, you (and everyone else reading this) really should check out the "full" versions (including English subtitles/captions). Three of the four performances were actually preceded (as broadcast) by short "video packages" including mini-interviews with her, and followed by judges' comments. (Usually those can safely be skipped in things like this, but in this case, the judges had some very thoughful things to say.) There were no pre- or post-song "extras" in the second round (by design, as it was an "elimination" round), but her performance was actually edited for broadcast, removing the entire 50-second "bridge" of the song. (!) The full performance was posted to the TV channel's website, and quickly found its way to YT. (And, for viewers, you really should hear the original audio of that, because the sound quality is _much_ better than what was heard here. It's unfortunate that the audio was "muddied" in that part of this reaction video by [presumably] being recorded at too high a level. Qué lástima…) All of this can be seen in the playlist on my channel called "Angelina Jordan on Norske Talenter (Norway's Got Talent)". Be sure to read the full playlist description, though. Otherwise it will be very confusing (there are multiple videos for each performance). In fact, I'm sure it's confusing even when you read the playlist description. But whatever.🙃
So happy to have you along and sharing with us your journey. I think you could now watch any recording from any age of Angelina and know how to appreciate it. BTW: she likely has a new single dropping Friday. A short teaser has been posted in Angelina’s social media since yesterday. Some have suggested the release is at mid-night based upon geography. So, I am planning to try a VPN to New Zealand early Thursday.
She donated her prize money to charity.
Angelina took 46% of the votes in a field of ten finalists!
Please listen to the video "I am holding out for you". Angelina was 10. You have only scratched the surface... 🎉
Thank you so much Mona!
Yeah, man. It feels like an honor to share the planet with her. Makes me want to be a better person. ❤
Im not sure)
And *Im still holding out for you* (10 years old) which is a leaked song and was never ment to be released.. Alot of people dont know about this hidden gem and the ones who know about it says its her best one.
Also Bohemian rhapsody is a must. Even queen themselves tweeted on twitter "wow what a rendition." And gave Angelina rights to record her version of the song.
Right after this, she did What a differents a day makes, for TV. It's one of my favorite performances.

Another great reaction. You should react to Angelina singing “It’s a Man’s World, I’d Rather go Blind and Bohemian Rhapsody on American’s Got Talent
Wow that’s shocking but it’s clear they were moved in every performance by her
@@nickforell1 Speaking of rehearsals and being the Real Deal, there's a video where she is rehearsing "Summertime" sometime after winning the competition (not before, as some people think).
In a interview after this performance Angelina's mom was asked why she was crying during her performance?? Were they happy tears??
Mom said; " They were happy tears but they were also sad tears because I know I just lost my daughter to the world. ♥👣👸🏻🎷
Gloomy Sunday.
When I played the NGT version of Angie singing Bang, Bang my 19-year-old daughter, who is not an AJ fan, cried. Copiously.
Angelina can be the voice for the whole planet as far as I'm concerned. I've just never heard anyone else like her.
She does a cover to Etta James "I'd Rather Go Blind " and holds a note for 16 seconds when she was 12.
She doesn't hold a note for 16 seconds. She sings a 16 second phrase in one breath.
@@103mrg you are so ridiculous, go away. Can't you just comment how good she is instead of trolling everyone's comment with your "facts". F.O.
If you are as familiar with Billy Holiday you know that Angelina perfectly captures the cadence and feel of the origional
Yes Nick , Definitely I'M STILL HOLDING OUT FOR YOU, Age 10 ,another masterpiece that will drop your jaw and leave you saying How did she do that ?
Angelina has stated on more than one occasion that she never gets nervous when performing live.
A while back I counted from memory nine different genres she has ventured into, and if you started with any one of them you would probably say that she picked the perfect song for her voice and style. That's how crazy good she is. Angelina takes on the most iconic, and difficult songs from the greats, over many genres and generations.
Welcome to our world with Princess ANGELina!
Thank you Gary, I think because she's only 17 we will watch her flourish for many years to come!
@@nickforell1, Some "will watch her flourish for many years to come!" Some of us don't have as many years to look forward to as others.
@@musicluvr70 Watch and assist her from the other side please! I plan to do so when I cross the veil back home some day. 💛💛💛
These are hard songs to sing for anyone at any age. Angelina sings them so calmly and with all the essence they were meant to have. Where to go now? AGT BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY!
It's Summertime in Norway and Angelina invokes Ella and Satchmo in her quest to dominate NGT, as sweet a song as was ever sung.
By the time I'd got through these 4, I knew I was lost. There was just something magical about her. That hasn't ceased. 😎
A once-in-a-generation talent. Your reactions were superb.
I really appreciate that Ken =)
Well done, Nick; you don't need my recommendation any longer, because it's clear you are now under her spell and have willingly become a dedicated Angelina fan. Keep up the good work dude.
Thank you sooo much for your guidance. I still would love input from you! She’s da best
@@nickforell1
Obviously, all of her Performances on America's Got Talent Champions edition 2 years ago would be my next choice.

Thank you Robert for commenting and telling us about your jazz career! You must have some amazing insight
Angelina may sing all kinds of pop music, but she is best at jazz and when making other music jazzy.
Angelina is the most unique person I have ever seen. Her soul is from a time lost. This kind of person only comes around every hundred years or so. SIMPLY AMAZING!!!!!!
been listening to her routinely for several years and the more I hear her the more impressed I am, hear more every time I re-hear a song
what you mention is correct that at first she seems a little nervous... but as soon as she sings the first note all nervousness disappears... as she herself says...
I was pretty floored. Just wait. It’s amazing to see her on stage
Maybe the 60s
Definitely the 40s and even the late 30s. The 60s were the beginning of the rock era with groups like "The Animals", "The Beatles", "CCR", "Led Zeppelin", "The Doors", "Elvis", "The Tokens", "Buffalo Springfield" and others. These were the groups I was getting in to, and my Dad wouldn't let me play them in our house. His quote was, "None of that damn hippie music in this house." 😂
Angelina's last concert (Summer 2022) in Norway had 18 songs..from 8 of the last 9 decades..who does that?!
@@kenscott8966 Good point, her musical choices alone are hard to grasp.
Her hair harkens back to the 19th c. Look at the old photos of actresses, like Maud Adams, and others of that time.
That’s fair, I just figured it seemed early on in her stage career. Thanks for your insight
I know its just amazing how incredible she is at a young age!
Here I a link to FMTTM at O2 - performance audio dubbed over rehearsal video: th-cam.com/video/OMkwoqUNNkE/w-d-xo.html

Welcome and looks like you're joining us for the long haul. Glad to have you aboard!
😎🇺🇲👍💯🌟 I'll sub for Angilina! She is a Killer!
Angelina Jordan just now got her star on the walk of fame in Hollywood
Great reaction. Meet Angelina Jordan. She,'s 9 here and 17 now. She's a child prodigy.
She has the love and support of her family. She was highly influenced by her grandmother, in jazz.
The whole country was speechless after her Gloomy Sunday on NGT. But Summertime, her final performance is just from another world.....She is releasing a new song in the comeing week. Just so you know.

Sometimes you don't understand why you're crying but you know you can't help it. Effortless. They're literally experiencing a miracle.
Thx.
Agree .. ¡¡¡¡
She really has a knack at making sure she influences all parts of the music she is creating. Its rare to find that in an artist
Glad you enjoyed the suggestion can wait for the next one

Nick, and she grows from song to song throughout the competition! You've the version I tell people to avoid. Even the 2nd performance has been shortened. The second song was for an elimination round. The 3rd song was the first public voting performance. Of course, she made it to the final. I'm with you. That is the best cover of that song I have heard. My favorite forever. 46% of the vote! Big hug, Nick. Grandma Ellen, out.
Thank you so much Ellen. She is just blossoming so amazingly! Can't wait to hear her all grown up
Angelina, nervous? It has never happened. She thrives in that environment. FYI; other than (maybe) opera, there really isn't anything that is out of her comfort zone. She is game to try anything, and it all sounds good.

I just love her dress all is missing is the halo and wings
Great reaction
These early years she was influenced by the greats in Jazz and R&B, studied them intently, channeling the sounds of the greats into her style. Today she takes all those influences and with a mature voice greats an unbelievable sound which is getting better and better, enjoy

Honest, genuine reaction - what else can one do in front of such a talent.
I loved 😍😍😍
This must have been the first Angelina I ever heard, a long time ago. Later I returned to the others and to the newer ones - we are dealing here with a real star!!! I just hope nobody brings it down to the level of pop music...
Those four performances really showcased different sides to her talent:
The first one was a perfect copy of Billie Holiday; the second one proved her incredible pitch control (she actually nailed each note perfectly); the third one showcased her deep voice (contralto is rare); and the fourth one highlighted her unique vibrato, which is one of her trademarks in all of her performances to the present day.
I will be here for all of your quality Angelina reactions. I hope there are many. 👍

She can make her voice like liquid gold, and i hope you will listen to more of Angelina.
Nick.! There must be something in the water in Norway.! Hayde Bluegrass Orchestra is one of the best bands ever.!
Qué lástima…)
All of this can be seen in the playlist on my channel called "Angelina Jordan on Norske Talenter (Norway's Got Talent)".
The release is announced as May 5th
