Great video, especially the reminders (more than once) about networking and making friends in and out of the Twitch community. We all forget that this should be fun and it's about the "community" being Twitch! 😀
Honest video - thanks! Been streaming more seriously for the past year. I'm unfortunatly variety streaming and that is what I see as well, as soon as I switch games, viewers drop. I'll probably end up sticking to one game soon... Just got to pick...
My dream is to become a full time streamer one day, that’s why I keep working so hard to achieve it! I’m sitting at about 15 average viewers rn and i started from 0 in August, I’m trying my best
This video is very helpful. Sticking with the same game is very good as far as tips go, with some rebranding and it actually works. It worked for me. Letting your personality shine is another one too... BUT what helps the most AND I CAN NOT STRESS ENOUGH... turn. off. your. viewer. count!!!! Mask it, hide it... do something. It makes you distracted and makes you feel low if you don't have a high viewer count. It will also show on your face through your webcam feed. Make sure the game you're playing is something you are decent at! Just make it fun!
There's a huge difference between being a streamer -- and being an ENTERTAINER. People who are entertained will be more likely to stick around and tell others about your stream. But if your goal is merely to stream and not much else, you will not grow as a content creator. Find that niche that drives you. Find that thing about you that you like and stick to it. Have a schtick. A gimmick. Something that makes you unique and makes people want to come back to you. I'm not a Twitch partner, just an affiliate, but I think it's important to focus on what makes you happy, what keeps you in a good mood. Have faith in yourself, and have patience. Remember: Streaming is more than just pure numbers. Establishing a community is the foundation of your streaming career. Don't forget -- we're all human.
Networking is very important. It brings the first spark of attention to your streams and twitch’s algorithm will begin to recommend you to other people and you slowly grow
@@nateb3270 it can be as simple as popping in other streams and just talking or joining facebook/discord groups. Use a spare device and friends to lurk on stream to increase your avg
@@rsvs1829 change up your stream, give yourself a fresh new name with a new logo and new meaning. Actually put some good thoughts and ideas behind what your brand means.
I started in November 2020, currently on 23 average viewers which is mind blowing for me. But my biggest concern is how do I continue to grow? I play a variety of games, and I understand the theory about playing the same game, but I’ve gone from 0 to 700 followers from doing what I’m doing at the minute.
What’s the best mic to buy for my stream I pull like and avarge 6 viewers I never go under 3 and max I got was 20 how do I get the people who com and go be my consistent viewers
I'd say just get a mic in ur budget and go up better mics in the future. If you get Christmas/Birthday money, buy the mic you want. I'd suggest a Blue Yeti Snowball for a starter mic or just look into something with ur budget.
Good information. Done all this and in two years still growing and actually backsliding a bit. When a game views go down would you still recommend to keep streaming the same game if people that typically come to your stream are also tired of playing said game? I got close last year with 55 avg and now the game is low on content and ppl are losing interest in the game and I struggling to get 30 avg now. That will probably keep happening till the next game patch. Thanks for the video!
I get around 3 viewers max each stream, I mainly do it because I want to. Not because i feel I have to, for me it’s not about views or money, it’s purely just that my viewers, friends and myself are all having fun while it’s going on. 😁 Depression doesn’t help with sometimes towards the end of streams 😕
I was on average 51 last month and now I’m on average 38.44 on partner and the last time I averaged 60-70-80 viewers was 5 weeks ago can you help me please ????
Two last things are pretty ok. Definitely consistency is important. But the first thing, that's a ticket to game locking. And game locking isn't THAT good. A lot of people had amazing communities built on the channel with one game, only to die down with that game, never to transition to a different game.
Yeah it's a bit of a catch twenty-two. You build up your community because of that one game, but this caps you to only that community and therefore limits your reach. On the other hand, transitioning between different games to keep things fresh must be done with lots of prior research i.e. is it interactive? can people engage effectively? is it too different from my current game (i.e. say you stream COD and then you start streaming chess)... etc. I guess reflection and honest self-evaluation is crucial and you definitely raise a great point.
follow any friends that stream, check out their friends that stream, follow them, sub them if you can, donate, watch them stream whenever they go live, even if it’s just for 5-10 minutes, talk to them a lot in their chats. that’s how i’ve done it and it’s been going really well :)
it took me less than two months to get affiliate. my biggest hurdle was getting over 50 followers. I had the hours and viewers long before I had the follower count lmao. I know it won't be much im just starting out too but I can give some advice if you want!
that is not smart, if you stream the same thing over and over you can not move to another game, Im stuck in this position now. There will never be 75 average viewers on the game I play so also bad advice.
i have been sitting at a 10 viewers for 5 years Twitch is a horrible platform its overstated and the games are given out to high payed streamers before they come out so it tiers everyone to there pages not the low end streamers. I paid over 10k on games its just a scam to be a gamer
Don’t forget that you have to be entertaining and funny if you actually want some viewers

This was a nice and simple video I just hit affiliate today :) Can't wait to continue the journey good luck everyone!
