Biggest difference, price Arrma is $379 and Traxxas is $429. I rather get the Arrma since is new technology, traxxas is still running the 10yr+ electronics. Blah to Traxxas don’t get me wrong i love my Traxxas i have over 10 vehicles from them. Great video Mark🔥💯

I quit nicotine back in January and I went a little crazy with trying to distract myself. One of my new distractions is rc cars. Have watched a bunch of your videos and enjoyed them all. I bought a Maxx a little less than a month ago. Unfortunately the ESC went out and so my local hobby shop has sent it back to traxxas. Bought a 1/16 revo to amuse myself until the Maxx was ready to bash again. Just wasn't enough, so last night I got a Rustler 4x4 vxl. Great timing for this video! Lol. I'm loving it so far. Running on 3s and it zooooooooms! Anyways, thanks for all your great videos! Been a quite helpful and educational distraction.

Nice. Noticed the fans on the Arrma Vortex which I find are a must for the Rustler on 3S and I heard it also comes with vented tires. It's about time they started doing that from the factory.

I remember I was gonna get an Arrma Kraton 6s, but the guy at the hobby shop said Arrma parts are hard to get by, so I went with the ERevo 2.0. A hobby shop that’s closer to me is always stocked on Arrma parts, so I’m a little upset that guy lied to me and sometimes wish I had that Kraton instead of my ERevo haha
@@twinturbov8 I used to have both cars, the Kraton 6s and the e-Revo 2.0. The e-Revo is the better car to me, because it is more durable on 6s and parts are way less expensive and easier to get (depending on where you live). Some Arrma parts are always out of stock and those are usually the ones that brake most (makes sense, doesn't it?). So be happy with your e-Revo 2.0, it's a great truck. I am still curious about the Kraton EXB though, but I already have way too many cars.

These are both great cars, but in my opinion the TRX Rustler is better because parts for it are more readily available it is much tougher and durable and is slightly faster but has the same amount of acceleration as the Vortex. Great video! 👍🏻
If it’s anything like the Slash Senton the Vortecks should be more reliable than the Rustler.

The Arrma is a no brainer choice, it's built for 3s and bashing. The rustler is an old platform built for a brushed motor and much lower speeds, it won't take the hits.

Then there's the hoss and maxx which can easily handle 4s

@@ptpbarry I know how traxxas biased he is. Its kinda hard not to be when he has the flagship store 5 minutes away. Plus traxxas vehicles are superior in many ways, including being lighter and easier to carry, being easier to work on, superior steering assist, and they are just more fun to drive.

The vortex has got a telescoping drive shaft so u can just squeeze it and it will come out. And that's how u can adjust ur slippers clutch. Great video by the way. Keep up the good work brother.

I don’t think you have to be concerned. A friend of mine has a Granite 4x4 BLX that’s completely stock and that things takes a beating!
I own a Traxxas ERevo 2.0 and I’ve got a lot of respect for Arrma’s 3s and 4s lineup
30mph sideways into a stop sign pole. just a crack in the outside body's plastic. kept on bashing. full speed forward into a curb. broke the bumper in a place it's still usable. Traxxas would have been in 3 pieces.
You should get a tape measure for the length and width comparison.
Its nice to have different colored trucks cause for the new folks, it may be confusing having the same colors

There was a rumor of an updated Stampede? Will it happen, or will it be discontinued because of the Hoss?
Updated stampede would be most likely clipless body and that's it. I doubt that there will be an updated stampede. I mean there are people saying that there is gonna be a new 1/5th scale, and that there's gonna be an E-revo 3.0. All of these rumors are bullshit. The E-revo 2.0 is as good as it's gonna get, and a new 1/5 scale would probably be over $1k which is way too much for most buyers.
The only reason why I watched this vid was too see if there was any competition to the Tekno Et 410. Love my mini truggy

As a Rustler VXL owner, I love it, however that wheelie bar is useless, would recommend a different one.
I've replaced my shocks with big bores, sledgehammer tires and ESC Fan. trying to find that body local here, I have the pink one and have got tons of compliments on it.
Might as well get the hoss...

What is going to sway new buyers in the hobby shop is the price. Arrma is a decent amount cheaper at $380 compared to the Traxxas at $430. And $50 is enough to sway a lot of customers.

I see lots of interesting comments here haha. I love both cars and companies, but I think I’d go with the Vorteks over the Rustler, even though I own only Traxxas at the moment.
@j z Traxxas does have great qualities. I own an ERevo 2.0, TRX6, 1/16 ERevo VXL, and Spartan. All cars are currently working and I haven’t broken them in the past month. Though I do want to try an Arrma, I might change my mind on the Vorteks since my friend picked one up a month after release and it’s a literal lemon
@j z I was only having countless issues with my ERevo at first because I had no idea what I was doing and kept beating it up without knowing how to fix it. Now I’m more knowledgeable and can completely tear it down and put it back together and haven’t had many issues since then

No experience with the Rustler 4x4, but i have a Arrma Big Rock V3 (Black body). The changes I seen from my BR, is the esc (now spektrum firma, over the arrma BLX100). The radio (upgraded version with gyro type function), it's very possible they upgraded the servo as well, but not looked that deeply. yes the chassis is different (Mine has the Typhon/senton, Vorteks has the granite). But other than my longer arms and links (V3 BR not sure if others have them). physically the cars look the same. Which is good, because the BR can take a beating, I've hit nearly every angle getting used to this thing, including hitting a tree at nearly full blast and nothing has broken. Now for the big question, the Vorteks is 60.00 more than my BR was, Is it worth it? No experience with the Firma esc so can't say anything there, but the gyro radio would definitely be a gamechanger. It is in my plans to add a Gyro based radio to my truck the one i want is about 75.00 (radiolink RC6GS V2). so i do think the 60.00 is a good price for the upgraded radio. my BR was a good deal as it was, i expect this to be a good deal as well
They are a little different like $80 bucks plus had to buy a fan for my vxl and aluminum caps cause my first jump blew front two caps off so about $150 more but I love my rustler 🤜🏻🤛🏻

I need to get another newer car wouldn't my either one of those two rustler and vortex. I may end up getting the senton. I have the original arrma granite mega 2wd and redcat landslide. Differently need a newer version of either traxxas or arrma. Can't wait to see the next video to make my final choice!
They’re now $30 apart. I had a big rock and honestly while it was the best ARRMA I’ve had, it still sucked. The ARRMA ring and pinion are plastic so that’s another 60-80 in the ARRMA. I also love center diffs which you can only get in the traxxas, and the ARRMA 6s cars where way more annoying. Traxxas just keeps life simpler for me

Rustler all the way. Looks better and is tried and true. Plus the Rustler has tons of hop up and upgrade parts to really personalize your rig.
Yess my guy Traxxas is just soo much better. Arrma just doesn’t have as readily available parts and as good costumer service as Traxxas. Yes Arrma is cheaper than Traxxas, but that extra money you pay when you buy a Traxxas is paying for the readily available parts, upgrades, and their great costumer service. Plus it is tougher like you stated.
@@CalebLawrence007 ummm, my new senton had a small but still fine vibration in the rear diff. decided to call. sent me a new one overnight in the mail NO QUESTIONS asked. Not sure how much better customer service your looking for but Arma has it. just thought i'd throw that out there.

I converted my granite to 6s and the stock diffs and drives shafts are still holding 6 months later if the vortek is built with the same parts as the granite things going to be a rustler killer lol
I came to the vid because I heard the vorteks has a plastic diff ring gear and pinion. Your granite gears sound incredibly tough! Do they all have plastic diffs?

@@heat305rc no, but but I have drove many arrma's and traxxas's, and the traxxas's just handle better. The arrmas are heavier and frankly are overrated. Also yes I have a friend who let me drive the vorteks for a few minutes.

I'm on the fence for which one to get. The hobby store guy kept pushing me towards Arma and I've been out of the game for over 20 years.
Btw I have an old 2wd rustler from back in the day if that matters
@@Clavitz1 I had a rustler 4x4 vxl and I loved it. The only problem was that the drive shafts and the hexes thst the wheels go into would break. I got the metal hexes ($12 I think) and just replaced the drive shafts and it was good. The rustler is a joy to drive and only 5 lbs, so I would reccomend getting the rustler 4x4 vxl, but be aware if you bash and have hard landings and stuff you will have to replace the drive shafts every 1/2 year. Traxxass are a lot easier to work on aswell. Just about 2-3 screws and you can change the drive shafts. My friend got the traxxas maxx about a year ago and he hasn't broken anything and he jumps and beats the crap out of that thing. If you are on more of a budget then get the rustlet 4x4 vxl with the 3s conpleter pack (1 x 3s with ez peak plus charger), but if you can spend more I would say get the maxx with the 4s completer
Sweet looking rustler, I thought I was the only one who used batteries intended for the rc in use, I will stick to my traxxas and redcats, not that I'm not a arrma fan, I'm NOT A HORIZON HOBBY FAN, however its about the fun factor!! Don't forget to get a different body for that little gem of a rustler!!😎
