Just to reinforce the point, Spurg notes that this jacket does not a race hump. The Fusion one-piece suit does, but the jacket does not, despite being able to be zipped into a two-piece suit.
Correct, this is pretty common with the more-street oriented leather 2-piece suits. Brands will often ditch the hump to allow riders who commute or ride w/ passengers (etc) to have the everyday convenience of no race hump when using on the road.
I wish AS would create a jacket that's full Matryx mesh. Or one like this because I like the leather, but NOT in a track fit. I almost don't fit in a US sz 58. I'm 5'10 and 225. I don't like the shape of them either.
not much was said on comfort and airflow. wonder how comfortable this is in comparison with the gp plus R v3 rideknit and the airflow too. and why no waist adjustment???...smh.
Please note the GPR impact protectors they use manufactured by Betac is indeed race grade and despite ce l1 marking it outperforms ce2 l2 in both impact tests and coverage. Can't get any better protectors than this and there is no upgrade. Even Revit uses it in their race suits instead of their own ce l2 protectors
Ok if that’s the case why haven’t they tested it to level 2? Don’t make claims on behalf of companies, if their stuff works, then they should prove it does.
@@Omar-kw5ui Well it's been tested on the track. Most race suits use betac protectors and I believe there is more to that than simple shock testing by dropping some weight on it. Ixon uses it revir uses it 4sr uses it you name. Check the autocap tests where betac equipped atemv4 destroyed all competition in impact resistance results.
@@Omar-kw5ui also they should not do nothing because you are free to choose whatever equipment you wish. So maybe you should use your brain and do some research. Read how the tests are performed connect the dots
@@7herm you can keep making claims until you are blue in the face as far as I’m concerned. Until there is scientific proof in the form of numerical results ON THE SAME TESTS that show these protectors match or exceed CE level 2 standards then you cannot make the claim that it is better than CE level 2 protectors. This is especially the case since the manufacturers sent it for testing and opted to test it only to CE level 1. They sent them to the same testing houses, why didn’t they test to CE level 2? Were they scared it would fail the test? As for other metric that they may test for, again, this is not what we are asking at the very moment. You can’t compare apples and oranges and then claim well oranges are orange in colour so therefore they are better. We are asking about impact energy transmission through the armour which the CE standards stipulate specific regulations on - regulations that these protectors have not been tested to yet you boldly claim on behalf of the manufacturer that they are better because so and so uses it.
@@Omar-kw5ui do you really believe guys at Revit are idiots or don't know what they are doing by putting ce1 Betac in their race suits even though they have their own seaflex ce2 range of protectors? I'm just saying there is more to that than dropping a weight from height to look at the scale. What is it I don't know but surely guys at alpinestars do and why they don't share it maybe you would interprete it wrong and its better to keep your mind free of such knowledge
I bought it this year, I expected a lot more by Alpinestar and by the price tag. The neck is unconfortable after a while riding on mountain it irritates the skin. The zip keep jams when I try to open...
Currently just out of stock according to Alpinestars, not discontinued yet. If you are looking for an ETA on a specific size or color, please feel free to reach out to our Customer Service teams!
Ive noticed its the top half of their new racing suit but i wonder if track organisations will allow this jacket to be paired with some leather pants. Or will they reject the new matryx material because the jacket isn't fully leather.
Great question that your local track group running the track day will likely have a ruling on. FWIW, most track day orgs. near our HQ don't mind 2-piece suits. Also keep in mind, most suits produced today aren't 100% leather since they have textile stretch zones. Ride safe!
Spurg, i love ya mate, but the dude wearing this - the jacket look too small on him. I’m the same weight and height. I’m a 56 in thhs jacket with the TechAir 10 underneath. Just saying
It was actually somewhat loose on Alex for how he wears his normal leather jackets. He is a bit taller / longer in the arms which makes sizing in any euro brand tough, but this was the size he'd go with if buying. Makes sense you had to size up with a full airbag system underneath though, Alex would've had to jump one if he added that entire system underneath for sure.
Does the CE level 2 nucleon flex armor fit in this jacket? Like an upgrade?

Does ride knit stetch have kevlar in? Does this zip into track pants ?
No kevlar, yes zip with pants
