A tip from experience... don't bother with fertilizer on your crops before buying the fertilizer maker. You lose money in the end, but the maker will give you 5 bags for 1 ball of fodder😊 You can actually farm fertilizer by converting fodder, then using the bags to replant more fodder to multiply more and more bags
How early were you able to get the fertilizer maker? I felt like I had to use fertilizer to get s crops to sell just to afford the thing in the first year.
@@SnarkyRogue what nerdycurls said👍 you really shouldn't have been using fertilizer because it take 4 bags to increase the crop by one grade. Each grade only increases the sale price by 30, so you're paying 80g to get an extra 30g... ie losing 50g. Just buy sheep, grow grade B crops until you get the machine.
1- Cows are actually on a 10 hour timer, not 12! The tv says so and my own experiences support it. So long as I milk my cows by 8pm, they’re ready to milk again first thing in the morning. 2- Selling things in the shipping bin is kind of a waste if you don’t absolutely need the money asap. Haggle with Van! You get a LOT more! 3- Gavin is NOT Molly’s dad! XD 4- If you let your chickens outside, they’ll feed themselves for free and make your bird feed last even longer!
I just want to say one thing and that is don't rely on sheep, they're good early game but once you can get a Star Cow get one cus their milk at B tier sells for 325 per. You get 3 per milking in Spring and Fall with 2 milkings a day so thats 325 x 6 which is 1950 gold a day. Sheep only give you wool every 5 days so during that waiting period if you milk your star cow twice a day for 5 days youre getting 1950 x 5 = 9,750 gold compared to 3,000 for regular wool or 6,000 for golden wool. Even during the Summer and Winter where you only get 2 milks per milking you make more money than sheep: 325 x 4 = 1300, 1300 x 5 = 6,500.That is only at B tier for the milk, A and S tier sell for 400 and 500 respectively per milk. Definitely breed the Star Cow to get female star babies and slowly replace your sheep, leave one sheep just in case for any requests or gifts. Do not process the star milk into cheese or butter as it sells for less than the standard milk. Star Cow milk sells for more compared to Brown Butter and Marble Cheese at S tier.
The reason van started selling you copper tools was because you used the tool so many times! Like using the watering can 100 times. It's not just because he "shuffled" what he was selling. Also in order to get the best tools you need to befriend certain villagers. So you should just befriend everyone!
If you annoy the large brown pot in the tree (back and to the right) it will give you a record. It takes about 100 interactions though. I did it one after another until I got the record, so it’s not a multi day thing, but I have only seen one person talk about it.
What's cool about this is in the original harvest moon -a wonderful life special addition, this was actually how you chose the gender of your child! in the main game you could only have a boy, but in special addition they added something to the pot, and if you screamed at it enough it would break and finally ask you if you wanted a boy or a girl, so this record is a little nod to that feature from back in the day. (you learned about this secret by becoming good friends with nina, the old lady with the bug hat)
Trees take almost 100 bags of fertilizer to improve to S grade, and upseed flowers only work with Vinny on crop seeds, but if you splice a fruit tree seed with any S rank crop seed, the result is an S rank tree seed! That's +60G on all the fruit, 24 each year. So worth it!
Thank you, useful tips for this game! I got it yesterday and i love the more chill/slow pace of this game. I usually don't burn my games, i'm playing a couple of games regularly and this feels like a comfy couch. I'm loving it
You can give Darryl five gifts a day. You don't have to give only two gifts for many of the villagers. For example Gary can be given a fish, a milk soup, and a statue from the dig site
I made so many mistakes. Paid for the seed maker. Only got the sheep mid year 2. Cut down all my grass. Sooo many mistakes. At least I know stuff now. Thanks for the tips.
turns out it’s totally worth it getting the fodder+, learned it the hard way when buying them drained my wallet but it makes the livestock quality (like milk and wool) upgrade faster into it’s higher worth by feeding the fodder to the animals! worth the drain lol
Thankfully I've played and still own the original version of this game and can't wait to play this version. Granted Story of Seasons Mineral and Olive town are fun but A wonderful Life was the game the hooked me into farming sims to begin with
you can haggle with Van every time you sell something it just takes a couple of attempts so if you have time you can get a price increase up to 4times ^-^ the chances are very low tho so I usually just go for the first haggle
Yeah I saw someone else say the first time you haggle with him you have a 56% chance of getting more and everytime you try after that the percentage decreases for that day.
I can see that seed maker being very useful for filling up my tree field with 15 trees, as well. Tysm I never would've thought to sell fruit seeds! I wonder how the prices compare across the board for other crops. I'll have to play with it a bit.
I get the game this weekend so excited but id love to know if just like the og game can we still get the Chihuahua by befriending carter and floda and collected all mysterious tablets.
you can leave your animal outside if it doesnt rain...it wont matter if you wake up and it rains, because the health bar decrease so slowly, unless you intentionally left your animals out in the rain, they wont get sick
Hey MSG! I really like video! Thank you for the info. Would you say this game is worth getting? I know this might be a strange question, but what score would you give it? Im just trying to make sure I spend my $55 well spent 😁
I'd give it a 9 but I'm biased since I played the original on the GameCube. Realistically speaking If you didn't play the OG version and you don't have the funds to splurge, I'd wait for it to go on sale for maybe $30
@@adamk-paxlogan7330Sucks I might do a quick check and see if it’s 12 hrs earlier in the game. I’m in my 3rd season for the first year and it’s 10 (I’ve done a video that covers this).
The yellow box when you shake trees and such means they're still harvestable! Keep going until the box turns back to blue :)
Great tip! Good to know

Gavin isn’t actually muffy’s dad! He’s just her boss/coworker. In the DS version I believe he’s set up as a rival to you haha
You are planting your trees in a field that has better soil. I’d recommend planting the trees in the first plot only. It has lower quality soil. :)
gold wool is 6k so good

about your sheeps, to get gold wool. Talk, pet and brush when dirty.
You can haggle van when selling items for higher profits

Nope! They don’t get sick either, if the health bar goes down too far they’ll just give you poor quality products until you bring it back up again.
