This album was so sad. It made me cry, even depressed for Taylor. I hope her next album is a much happier version of herself and more upbeat. I would love to see a change to upbeat songs. I do not want to cry again.😢

I think we can assume, based on the lyrics to quite a few songs, that there was much more to it than what we saw for a short time. I know they apparently dated for a short time in 2014 a little while after she and Harry Styles broke up and before she started dating Calvin Harris. While it wasn’t confirmed that they dated, she did go to a bunch of The 1975’s concerts, he wore a 1989 shirt, she wore a shirt for The 1975, and he casually dropped into an interview that they had exchanged numbers but then she started dating Calvin Harris. We know not long after that ended she dated Tom Hiddleston and then Joe. My guess is that she always had feelings for Matty, but wasn’t putting her dating life on hold for him. It seems like maybe towards the end of her relationship with Joe, either during one of their breaks or when she started to realize it was over, she started to emotionally cheat on him with Matty Healy. I think because her relationship was ending or had just ended and she was given a second chance at dating someone she previously had feelings for that she fell really hard really quickly. I’ve kind of been there before, personally, so I get why she had such strong feelings for him even though it appeared to be a short relationship to everyone else. When you’re vulnerable and the person is already familiar with you, it’s easy to fall into that love bombing and think “it’s meant to be” since it’s a second chance at it, but in her case and mine the guy wasn’t worth it and we should have never revisited any type of relationship. At least Taylor has found Travis 😊 She really seems genuinely happy and I love that. I’m still waiting for my Travis, lol.
