Tana Basics: Working with Searches

  • In this video, Tana ambassador R.J. Nestor walks through the basic functions of live searches in the app Tana. Searches in Tana are queries. You can query nodes by their supertag, related fields and field values, or even by plain text. Most searches will use some combination of supertags and fields, occasionally with "OR" or "NOT" logic included. Searches provide the "output views" for what you input with fields and supertags-but they ALSO allow you to enter information directly into the searches! That's a superpower that makes adding info into Tana simple and streamlined, once you understand it.

    Thanks RJ. I particularly appreciated your explanation of the difference between "Run Once" and "Done". I'd figured there must be an important difference, but hadn't known what the difference was!
