How to Remove Tank Emblem Decal Sticker & Replace with New Chrome Royal Enfield Emblem

- How I removed the stock tank emblem decal and replaced it with a chrome emblem on the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Mr Clean edition. Note...after doing what I show in the video it I found that the eraser wheel is NOT needed. Simply give the sticker a good soak with the Goof Off and wipe off with a rag... that's it! On the chrome tank there is no clear coat over the sticker which makes the removal a lot easier than on a painted tank.

Yes, decal on the chrome tank is almost too easy to remove. I had to make it more challenging 😄

You’re asking if we could put the chrome emblem over the sticker? No. They’re not the same exact size, and even if they were, I wouldn’t recommend.

very nice! im wondering if just soaking it in goof off long enough would let you just manually scrape/peel it off.
Yes. When doing the other side I soaked it with more of the Goof Off before starting. I still used the "eraser" but it came off much quicker and easier. So, I'm sure with that type of decal you could manually peel off.
@@RideWithJerry as an update, i just removed the stickers on my chrome gt650 tank as well. all i did was spray it with some goo gone and let it sit for a few minutes. then with the help of a credit card to start the initial peel, each letter came off seemlessly!
@@notstevelam Nice! Giving it a good soak is the smarter move. Any scratches scraping off? I used the rubber wheel tool because I was concerned about scratches.
@@RideWithJerry no scratches that I can see! I only used the plastic card to get the initial peel on a letter. Each just pulled off in a single piece.

Hi how you maintaing chrome without getting scratches how to maintain it pls reply
I just try to be carful to not scratch and occasionally use some chrome polish.
One more question do you feel any wrist pain while riding continental and if yes then how to overcome this
@@amritramola I had some wrist pain the first couple times I rode the bike but not any more. 1) I got Grip Puppies to make the grips a little wider and softer. 2) I'm more comfortable on the bike now vs when I first got it. My grip is more relaxed and I don't don't squeeze tight anymore and don't lean on my hands as much.

I wipe it down with a microfiber cloth and use a little chrome polish when needed.
all you need to is soak it in hot water and it will peel off or use a heat gun finish of with alcohol polish done
Yes, the sticker on the chrome tank is easier than most since it doesn't have a clear coat finish.
Try heat gun on mild heat and just peel off, wipe with sticker off citrus sprit or turps , you don’t need a rubber grinding wheel.who told you to do it like this?
Nobody told me, just figuring things out as I go along 🤷♂️ I mention later in the video that an even easier option would be to just use more of the Goog Off, let it soak a bit longer and you can practically wipe the sticker off, no heat, no eraser wheel.
Hello sir, I’m planning to purchase interceptor 650 mark 2 edition, the only downside I found about mark 2 is it’s red sticker/paint on the chromed tank. So my question is that it is possible to remove the red sticker on the tank?
Not a removable sticker, the red stripe is painted on the tank.

I made it more complicated than needed. It's easy to remove. Don't need the tool, you don't need a heat gun. Just get some Goof Off (or any adhesive remover), and with a rag, soak the sticker for a couple minutes and it will peel right off - easy!

The stripe across the top of the tank? No, that's painted on. But, I have seen all chrome RE tanks for sale on eBay.

Just heat it up with a heat gun then peel it off simply
Yes, the decal on the chrome tank is easy to remove. A heat gun or just soaking the decal with a degreaser are propbably easier methods.
Hey brother i got swirl marks and some scratches on my Mr clean GT tank and exhaust too, so what would be the best option should i go for a new tank or just get them re chromed? , Also is the chrome tank made of chrome or is it just painted ?
Have you tried a buffing wheel and chrome polish?
But in other places I see the sticker is under clear coat. Was this an earlier model year?
