    Just found your video. A note on eBay sellers; I have ordered many parts from Royal Rider and everything was great! I did order a "Mr. Clean" solo tail cowl from another seller and it is one step up from junk. Arrived crooked and scratched and coated in dust, smelling like spray paint. After "adjusting" the shape to match the seat, it ended up with a crack and chipping the chrome.

    • @losttogether4ever
      @losttogether4ever  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That sucks, I hope the seller or E-bay made it right and refunded you or replaced it with a decent one. Feel free to list the seller of the bad seat cowl here to help other riders!! Thanks for watching.

    Thanks for your tank swap video. It helped me a lot and gave me the confidence to do a similar tank replacement to a 2021 Interceptor Mark III (from a Black Tank to a Glitter and Dust Tank).
    As I hadn't taken photos before uninstalling the fuel pump unit, I just had to look at your video to remember the exact position it had to be screwed in on the new tank.
    Also, the way you placed the smaller diameter rubber gasket of the fuel pump first on the tank instead of placing it on the fuel pump unit like the Service Manual shows, saved me a lot of aggravation.

    Great video, thanks so much! I'd been having fuel range issues on my GT650 since I got it. I assumed the fuel gauge was just inaccurate but it turns out it was the float. After comparing a screenshot of yours and mine I determined that the wire portion needed to be bent a bit. I need to run thru the full tank to be sure it's good but already it seems better.

    Excellent video. I've bought a spare tank for my Interceptor. I've got a chrome tank on at the moment, but completely gratuitously I thought that I'd get a metallic racing green one for periodic changes. I'm about to get it sprayed up.
    One thing, I was expecting you to put some fuel in the tank to check for leaks before refitting it. I think that's what I'll be doing.

    • @losttogether4ever
      @losttogether4ever  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for the comment, I was thinking about doing that but thought I'd check for leaks after it was plumbed into the engine and I had power to the fuel pump. Either way would work fine, if I had encountered leaks after installation it would have been simple to remove. I'm happy to report no leaks or issues at all!!

    I've been enjoying your videos and working my way through many of the same mods. I started with an Interceptor and swapped into an Ice Queen tank and the same seat and cowl in white earlier this summer. Do you think the wrap method would be able to match Ice Queen white on a cowl well enough to do that instead of paint? Thanks!

    • @losttogether4ever
      @losttogether4ever  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on your local wrap guy, they probably have some different shades of white. I'd take the bike to the shop and just see if they can come close in whatever vinyl they have in stock. Alternativly stop into a wrap place and ask them for some samples you can try and match up at home.

    do you think this job can be done without a torque wrench? does the tightening of all the screws and bolts need to be very precise? should i just make them very tight when i do the re-install?

    • @losttogether4ever
      @losttogether4ever  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes you can do it without a torque wrench, just snug everything up without over tightening. The only area might be the tank seals for the sending unit and the fuel pump, they have pretty robust seals if it leaks then snug it a bit more.

    @Bazooka85 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Hi, after swapping the tank, did you experience innaccurate petrol reading? I swap my tank yesterday to mr clean color and it was 4 bar petrol in it. After the swap, the petrol reading is in 1 bar and keep blinking like it was nearly empty while there is still heaps of petrol in it.

    • @losttogether4ever
      @losttogether4ever  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No I didn't experience any issues with fuel level readings. I suspect you may have accidentally bent the float rod when you reinstalled the sensor. I would take the sensor out again when it's convenient and then you can test the float to see if the level will change as you manually move the float up and down. You could also take the tank cap off when the fuel level is low and then use a wire to lift the sensor up and down while the key is turned on, this should show you the level changing on the dash and then you could bend the sensor rod if needed. Let me know how it goes, someone else may have the same issue as well.
