- Removing the front windscreen from my Talbot Express Camper Van so that it doesn't get damaged when I start cutting, grinding and welding in the engine bay as part of the camper's restoration with parts from MicksGarage.com and Jefferson Tools from E Fox Engineers Ltd.

I'm glad you got windscreen out in one piece. I remember when Chewie's windscreen broke when you tried to get it out.
Talbot Express's were built rusty. Can't wait to see you chopping bits of rot out and welding new pieces of metal in.

good work, ive a 10mm rust spotright under the window rubber, thinking of taking the window out to do properly or should i just 'wing it? have you a vid for putting the window back in? think ive the same 1991 eldis as you, just pulling the seals of as loads of leaks to sort!

If you can get a new windscreen rubber and cut the old one out. It can be a bit risky for the glass to get it out otherwise. I haven’t got my Talbot windscreen back in but I’ll do it the same way as my Kadett th-cam.com/video/kWRnBL05j14/w-d-xo.html
Would a very thin piece of ply or mdf ( same size as windscreen ) bent round and taped completely around the edges not have worked for you? I think that would have been easier and less risky in the long run. Saying that, it's a good way to get at anything around the window that needs repaired.
I’ll have a bit to do on the A pillars and I wouldn’t want any masking lines around the rubbers when I spray paint the cab.
