Bought this yesterday. I went to buy the s24, saw the z flip 5 and changed my mind. Super happy. Its specs are good enough, it was the possibility of 3 screens in one phone that I saw
as iPhone user I got flip5 and love it

i got the phone a couple months ago and I'm Lovin it. its super fast and it takes great photos. and the cover screen is just like a watch, you can check the time and set alarms, you can even check the weather. one of my favorite parts is that i don't need a kick stand, because if i bend the phone into a certain angle it can lay on its side with no outside interference. and if had to give one recommendation, please for the love of god get a case with hinge protection, you will thank me later.
I borrowed one for a month.
The best feature was snapping the phone shut to hang up on my gf. Felt so good.

I have had this phone nearly since launch.
I absolutely love it! I wish more companies would try smart flip phones with their own touch.
I most likely will not be keeping this phone, however. I just love my Apple Eco-System. It flows nicely, but it took a huge turn when I got my Flip 5.
Definitely enters my list of top 5 phones, and im glad i had my experience with it!
Hopefully, Apple makes an Flip Phone soon, lol.
You pretty much summed up everything that made me get the phone as well, took me a lot of convincing at first being a long time apple user, but soon as I saw that phone I knew I had to have it.

As an iPhone user I appreciate that Samsung made more options on their lineup. I would add the Flip to my line if I pick a Samsung; I like the compact size

I have my ZFlip 5 for 2 weeks and I'm soo happy with this """new""" experience! I won't said that is nostalgic, cause it's not, actually it's a new concept of a flip experience, and it's really nice and pleasure to have this Phone in my days.

Thank you for your honest review! A lot of people tend to hype up this phone and only speak of just the pros as opposed to the cons.
I bought a Samsung Z Flip 4 when it came out and I must have had some bad luck or something. I dropped it face first on a metal plate, took a chunk out of the display and it was a nightmare ever since.
Display issues are definitely something to keep in mind i.e the hairline fractures on the crease from opening/closing it frequently. (I think Samsung released information on how many times you can do this before there's a problem?) That being said, they have improved on the design with the gap being smaller and the screen less fragile. So there's hope there.
I'm still on the fence but after watching your video it helped to at least put me a little more at ease.
p.s I love your outlook in terms of using your devices to their fullest!

Would you recommend this phone for a first-time Android user? I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and I do love it but I want something more "fun".
I've been using Android for many years and never actually had an IPhone so can't really say much. It may be a pretty extreme transition for you so I would suggest to go to a store first and take a look at it in person and get a feel of what it's like holding in hand the Flip 5 because it's a big difference between the 12 Pro Max in terms of design. It's basically a clamshell that some people may even find weird or are just afraid to try something new. Before this, I had the Samsung S22 and even then, I went first to Verizon and took a closer look at Z Flip 5 before I took the decision. I consider it a stylish phone and even a conversation starter. I'm really happy with the purchase and it works nicely for my daily needs. So if you're looking for something different and fun, then yes, I can easily recommend this model.

Hi.. I went to the samsung store today and I really got disappointed bout this phone. This phone turns on the speaker mode the moment you take a calls from the cover screen which is a downside I guess. Is there a way to switch off the speaker mode while taking a call or on a call on the cover screen..
I noticed that too, but I believe it was done on purpose by the manufacturer, and probably there's a reason for that. I personally use a Bluetooth headset a lot with the phone closed and I find it really comfortable to walk around with it like that but if I don't have the headset, I just open the phone and talk like I would with any other smartphone. It's just a different device that may not work for some people. That's why it's a good idea to go to a store first and take a closer look at it before buying it. Thanks for watching.
You can turn this off. It's just a setting. I have my set to answer the call when I open the phone and not go to speaker.
Nope nope nope, screen protector from factory suck, they break often and is a bitch to replace. I work at an authorized Samsung repair center.

Wether you work on samsung phones .I had fold 2 14 months in pristine condition no issues wgat so ever on my screen then had flip 3 again the same fold 4 again the same now got z flip 5 again
0 issues good phones just take care of them then you have 0 issues
This is a personal opinion. There's literally thousands of people that have been using flex phone for years on end. Just say you're an iPhone fan boy bro lol
