He was an eighteen year old who wanted a scary intimidating dog... What he got was a killer. Victoria is right, the breeder was irresponsible selling him that dog.
Especially of all the breeds a canario. Like why the hell should an 18 year old ever get his hands on a canario unless his parents are professional trainers
@@asianbboy911 I was 16 when I raised my presa and I had control over him so it has nothing to do with age and everything to do with owner responsibility and it’s childish to say who should have what kind of dog at an certain age my little sister can handle both of my pits by her self at 6 it’s all about conditioning your dog the best way possible.
@@shredmunds7660 exactly.I’m not even saying that one of your pets would want to attack someone… But what if your little six-year-old sister fell and someone came to her rescue but the dog got confused and thought that they were trying to hurt her?
I think it was really smart of Victoria and her team to introduce this guy to those dog trainers. Not just for the reality check of his dog's potential danger, but they're basically the real version of what he is daydreaming of being. He wants to be a tough guy with a big powerful dog that listens to him. Well, here are people he will admire and listen to. They may actually be able to get through to him and guide him in how to train his dog.
Not only that.. it may inspire him to do the exact same thing they are doing.. become a trainer for other people's dongs and pass the knowledge and techniques on to others in need.
Yes, I wa thinking this as well. Those are trainers he can look up to, be guided by and aspire to be like. It was a very smart move. Victoria is quite insightful about human behaviour.
Sorry folks. The kid in this video didn't follow through with anything Victoria tried to teach him or arrange for him (those other trainers). Casper actually ended up biting someone. There's news articles about it, even. I've no idea what happened after that incident, though. I want to hope Casper somehow ended up with a good family but I highly doubt it. This kid is trash and I really wish I could tell him that.
I almost lost an eye when I was seven by a dog who “didn’t bite”. That why I’ve meticulously trained every dog we’ve owned since then. There’s no excuse for laziness when you get a dog. They aren’t just a decoration for your home or an accessory when you go out. 😡
@Brianna Evans The dog knocked me down and started biting my hands and face while it stood over me. One of its teeth punctured my eyelid and tore a hole in it. A little deeper would’ve punctured my eye, too. The dog belonged to a neighbor who just let it run loose since we lived in the country.
I had the same thing happened to me when I was 5 years old. Me and My were over at family friends house and they had a dog and I asked to pet it and they said it was fine and it jumped on me a pushed me down a bit my face I had to get a new check made
One of the important things I admire about Victoria is that she tells her clients the hardcore truth without sugarcoating it. She doesn't tell them what they want to hear and she is fierce when reprimanding their bad choices.
Ever notice that she’s the same way with correcting the dogs? No sugarcoating, no chances, just nip the bad behavior in the bud. You have to with dogs, they think faster than we do.
“Tyson come!” That was actually quite impressive. It’s like he’s attacking from all ends of his mind yet he’s just waiting to hear his owner say exactly that. “Everyone judges me!” Their judging you bc your very much giving them a reason to judge you. It’s pathetic to even see as a complete stranger.
Former owner of a Presa Canario: my dog was NEVER allowed to behave in an aggressive manner. From 8 weeks on he was in constant training. These dogs are no joke and the owner must be more disciplined than the dog.
I hear people who own pitbulls say what big "babies" they are. That's true as long as they're trained to be confident, happy pets. So many people like this kid get powerful breeds to protect them and their property. There was a sad story in our local news a few years back about a man who died protecting his little girl from a pitbull. The dog turned on him and he died from injuries. The owner lost a dog, and a little girl lost her father. Fault of an irresponsible pet owner.
@@LittleDfan You're right. I've heard that sometimes the behavior is so permanently ingrained that there's no hope for reformation. Those dogs either live their lives out in cages or have to be euthanized because they are not good candidates for adoption. Sad
Good words. With the correct training, every breed can be "the perfect pet/companion". It's really sad when an entire breed is demonised because of what's happened due to some irresponsible owners. Like I've met a rottweiler, Coco, who was the sweetest girl I've met. Compared to the old man who owned a jack russel when I lived with gramps, that thing tried to tear my leg apart for no reason, I was on my way to school, met them on the forest trail, stood off to the side so the man wouldn't slip, and the dog went for it, I didn't even look at it. The man said it was my fault, grumpy old codger...
This is why I think we need tighter regulations around owning dogs across the board. They're not toys. They're living creatures and their quality of life is heavily dependent on the competence of the one raising them. Ultimately who pays the price for these failures? It's not the owner, it's the dog. On the flip side there definitely should be more of an effort to make the knowledge of dog training more accessable. Many people know the basics, but far too many people lack the skills individuals like Victoria possess.
But there are also many dog trainers out there that do not have anywhere near the skills Victoria has. So even if you try to get help, the advice/training given may be mediocre at best.
I know and i agree it also very common here were im from for someone to get a puppy and train them a little but once they get bigger they abandon them and it is something that i wish didnt happen but it does and that breaks my heart
@hamsterpotato there isn't anything wrong with an agressive dog so long as the person who owns them is skilled enough to be in constant control, agressive dogs can only be in public muzzled if at all, you need to have high inescapable fences, the ground must be secured to ensure that escape is impossible and you must have secure, sheltered kennels to lock the dogs up when you have guests, they can serve a purpose as long as you are aware of the danger they pose and are prepared to never be able to share your dog with the world, most people don't need that kind of dog, but that only means that there need to be stricter requirements for owning more agression prone dog breeds. My pup is an amstaff mix, they are prone to dog agression, I don't take him to dog parks because he tries to dominate other males, he loves people and is fine otherwise, but I have to do what's best for him and other people's pets, that's what it means to be responsible.
Spoiler alert: His dog is in jail for biting a person and he got fined 80,000$, and still says that the dog doesn't deserve this This guy is stubborn AF
Wow 😳 thanks for the update. That’s really unfortunate for the dog. He should have never been given to that young, inexperienced kid in the first place. Is the dog scheduled to be put down because of the incident?
There's a guy in my neighborhood that has 3 BEAUTIFUL Cane Corsos. Seeing him walk those 3 massive dogs, all together, and with full control is a definitely a sight. You KNOW he took his time to understand the breed and properly train them. It really irks me to see people buy a dog breed, because they look good, and don't do the proper research. That just leads to sad, insecure, and misbehaved dogs.
I have two cane corso/rottweiler mixes and I love them to bits. They're just big sweet dorks, and people who only want them to look scary have no idea what they're in for. I'm so glad to hear that you see someone who knows, understands and loves his dogs!
Mmm yeah. Friends got a giant schnauzer as a house dog and only put him through training for sit and stay and stuff. They're bred to be guard dogs... they wrestle him into his crate whenever they have guests or someone at the door. But keep telling me they don't think training will help because "he's already done it"...
I have a pitbull/mutt mix and she is a very shy dog,she doesn't like loud strangers and she hates kids, but she knows that me and my family are there to protect her,she was never trained, never socialized, yet she is very obedient and loves other dogs and animals,i love her to death because she shows that dogs do have personalities and she is so sweet
@@sarahno4748 Sounds like your friend needs to learn what dog training really is. Basic commands are nothing, they take no time at all. Real training takes weeks, even months, depending on the type of training. He should take the time to learn about dog training before something happens because right now, he's setting his dog up for failure.
@The Sylvirr I bet your dogs are beautiful! My neighbor has a Rottweiler who is a big sweetie, but people sometimes cross the street to avoid her. I laugh every time I see it. 😄
I do have to admit that he is self aware enough to know he’s in over his head and needed a professional. A lot of people rather dump there dogs then admit they’re the problem and need help. He is seeking help. I hope the best.
He didn't neuter or train him after this episode and the dog bit someone and was taken from him. There's articles about it (look up 'caspar presa canario') and Victoria had a statement on her website too. Eric's behaviour was clearly an act and he only ever cared about himself, not the wellbeing of the dog.
@@platgeslagengehaktbal just read the two articles and its really upsetting ! After being warned and acting like he was actually gonna do something, he lets this happen. This poor dog. Unfortunately I don't see a happy outcome for Casper 😔
@@sakurachanuwu3503 it IS messed up if a guys masculinity is based on how big and bad thier dog is. It's also the same with guys feeling that if thier male dog is neutered then it somehow correlates to thier own balls or verility. It's sad but true. Smh
I will 100% always acknowledge the power of dogs, especially breeds bred to attack and the effect of bad humans on them. But that smile on the trained dog when he sat back next to his person was just the cutest thing.
Well there's a difference between "smiling" and reactive behavior. It's actually good if a dog is "smiling" with their mouth open, and it's very easy to tell if the dog is confortable or not.
A pooch who was called "dangerous" on the Animal Planet show "It's Me or The Dog!" has been cooling it in a Westchester canine jail for biting a neighbor. Casper, a 109-pound Presa Canario, has been caged in a shelter for six months as his owner has fought to save his life while facing $80,000 in fines and threats of eviction for violating his condo association's no-dog rule. A Westchester County judge recently spared Casper's life, but not his testicles. Besides ruling that Casper must be neutered, Greenburg Town Judge Walter Rivera also ordered the dog see a "board certified animal behaviorist" and not go out in public without a muzzle. "He's not a bad dog. He doesn't deserve this," said Casper's owner, Bram Leinwand, of Arsdley. He vowed to appeal. After the show aired the Leinwands heard from their condo board, which demanded the family get rid of Casper or face a $500-a-day fine. The board, which in 2009 gave the family permission to keep the dog, has put a $45,000 lien on the Leinwands' home and fines have now mounted to $80,000. The situation went from bad to worse, when Casper bit a visitor on the arm in the condominium parking lot, piercing the man's jacket and pricking his skin. Cops seized Casper, who has been in a New Rochelle shelter ever since. The family gets to visit him once a week. Bram Leinwand said he fears no one will adopt Casper unless Judge Rivera reverses his decision to label the dog "dangerous." He said he's willing to spend his last penny to get justice for Casper, but lamented, "(This) may ultimately prove to be a death sentence."
Wow... first they said he could have the dog.. then after seeing the episode the condo association said he had to get rid of him. 500 a day fine. Gotta say that's messed up.

Also people were blaming Victoria for ‘exposing’ Caspar to the dog with those trainers ‘attacking’ someone. That’s not how dogs work. This is completely on that kid. I don’t know what he was thinking.
@@victoriasalter1701 yes, we’re just saying that being cautious of bully breeds is not because of the dog but because the dog might have a bad owner that makes it dangerous. People are well within their rights to be nervous around these animals, I was once attacked by a pitbull that had never one bit or attacked anyone because the son of the family pointed at me and said “attack!” so he attacked. I still love pitbulls, but like I said, BAD OWNERS
Well, it didn't end well. Eric didn't become more responsible, and a while after this episode was completed, Casper did bite someone. Victoria got blamed for having dealt inapropriately with Casper although she didn't have anything to do with what happened later. Casper had to go into a shelter for half a year, and Eric's family had to pay a fortune for lawyers. Casper wasn't put down after this ordeal because of a lenient judge, but he had a very unpleasant time in the shelter. I don't know what actually happened to Casper later in his life, but I doubt that there was a real happy end. Eric should never have been allowed to own such a potentially dangerous dog breed. And Victoria's initially negative assessment of Eric was actually quite astute. Eric didn't prove her wrong although he had promised to do so. Eric became a professional poker player later... All this information can be found easily because this was one of Victoria's least successful cases, and quite a few local newspapers carried this story. Edit: Thanks for all the likes ☺️☺️☺️ It shows that many of you really care about the dogs and their owners who have been trained and educated by Victoria - many times the owners were more difficult to train than their 🐕🐕🐕 I really would've liked to find out what happened to Casper after Eric was allowed to take him home from the shelter! But once the public attention had diminished, I couldn't find Casper's name anywhere. I want to say one thing about Eric: he never should've been allowed to own a dog like Casper, but I think that he really loved Casper. Eric and his father spent a lot of money on legal procedures because they wanted to take Casper home again. And maybe, it's a a good sign, that I couldn't find out more about Casper. If he had been involved in another serious biting incident, it might've generated again a certain amount of public attention. If anyone knows more, I would very much appreciate if he or she would tell us what happened later!
@Blazzer Minion ha,ha, I hadn't even realized that I have got already quite a few likes😉 I was a bit worried if I may be guilty of doxxing, as it is called nowadays. But, as I said, it's fairly easy to find out what happened to Casper and Eric, because the story had caused a bit of publicity back then and Eric's full name was mentioned in some articles. Victoria had been accused at first of having used controversial methods on Casper, which was absolutely untrue. She needed to write a rebuttal. I often wonder how the dogs and their owners developed after Victoria's interventions. Since the show is old, most dogs are probably not alive anymore. But it's very unlikely that there were only happy ends because Victoria cannot supervise all dog owners who appeared in the tv-show.
his attitude makes me feel like he'd beat up people that don't agree with him. Agreed that he got the dog to use it as a weapon or to intimidate people.
look at him he thinks hes a tough guy G what he doesnt realize is someone like me who carries spray, a knife, and a pistol will end this dog and then him next.
They should have put Eric in that trainer suit and let that other dog have a go at him. Maybe he would have a better idea how much damage Casper could potentially do.
Eeehhh, that's a recipe for the dog knocking him down and going for the throat. Those guys need to train *just* to withstand a powerful dog biting into their padded arm.
Why the hell is that the first thing you assume? He wanted a dog and there is no problem with that. I've had an owner say that to me while assessing his chihuahua at work who was very scared, so I still went slow introducing myself. The dog bit me right after the owner said that lol. It was a warning bite, so not hard at all. I'm used to working with dogs every day so I was still comfortable accepting the chi so I could do his nails.
I feel bad for the dog tbh. He had the dog locked in a room for 12+ hours when he was at work. No wonder the dog is acting out it has so much energy to burn with no human direction/guidance.
The way he talks to his dog is too intense as well. It's either super affectionate, verbally harsh, or total neglect (since this dog had a "dungeon" he was trapped in 12 hours a day). The dog is as neurotic as you'd expect from living with someone like that... :'(
It didn’t really seem like the hat dude was scared of Casper hurting someone, it’s more of him being like “woah did you see how that pitbull just attacked the guy when owner said attack, and came back when the owner said come back, duuuude, I want a weapon like that!” 🤣I’m sorrryy I cant take this guy seriously
What I love about this is that Victoria doesn't just tells the owners "do this or do that", she shows them their problems and gives them resources that could help them in the long run.
Lol my dog snarls so much with his teeth out and we tried what would happen if the person who was being snarled at would try to make contact and my dog started licking their hand😂
Yeah it's really bad, I was walking my dog (he's actually named Casper) and we passed a couple and they told us their dogs were friendly. One of the dogs ended up attacking my other dog (ruby). Thankfully no one was hurt but I saw the couple a few more times being dragged across the road by their dogs. They also let their dogs go to the toilet on other people's yards, people are so irresponsible...
Yeah it's hard to tell but I definitely do have a friend with a corgi who is 100% all show and no bite. I was nervous at first but she and my dog play and leeloo snarls and shows teeth but she has never ever ever bit my dog or any other dog. So it's possible but I dont trust those dogs off the bat. It takes time. Anytime therea a dog in the dog park who's super vocal I'm always hesitant until I get to know the dog better. Thankfully all the owners at my dog park are SUPER responsible.
A dog can growl because they’re scared, and I think licking can be a way of trying to appease. Your dog is afraid, and they can lash out if they feel cornered. Even if you don’t care that your dog is uncomfortable, don’t have people touch your snarling dog.
I love it when some "gangster" comes in with a huge mastiff-type dogs and act all badass, and I'm like "Oh how cute, my grandma had mastiffs and my 70+ year old aunty has rottweilers." Added bonus, I'm a 4'9" woman and could handle my grandparents' mastiffs and my family's saint bernards better than most of these "tough" guys.
While I agree 100% I also have to add, for breeders: DON'T SELL A PUPPY TO AN 18 YEAROLD WITHOUT REALLY REALLY CAREFUL VETTING. I'm in my late 20s and in the process of getting a Toller, there is no way at 18 I was responsible enough to train a Toller - let alone a breed bred for fighting/hunting.
This was a scary situation. The dog was doing well with training but the owner was thinking about his image rather than safety. I hope everything worked out well for everyone.
One look at this guy, you can immidiately see he’s a dude that ”want that cool, potentially dangerous gangsta dog”. The last person who should own a dog in other words.
Always a small skinny dude who tries to be intimidating lol. I have a pitbull and hate that people might think that about me lol. I had no choice of dog though, we found him as a small baby. However my dog is trained and well behaved and is nothing like this doucher's presa.
He would smirk every time she mentioned how strong and aggressive the dog was. That's what he wants, but he can't handle it. Fragile masculinity at it's finest.
The dog ended up being removed from his custody after he bit someone. The guy really only had him for the look it's so sad. I hope the dog is in a better family now
@@A-n42 Good! Sadly the damage is probably already done. Honestly, I think a drivers licence type thing should be implemented to own pets as a lot of people simply isn’t smart and empathic enough to own them.

Well, apparently Casper bit a neighbour, is in dog jail, owner had to pay a fine but still insists the dog did nothing wrong. Respectful isn't quite accurate.
Love how the dudes with aggressive, poorly trained dogs never get them neutered. It's obvious they just got the dog as a status symbol or fashion accessory. It's telling of the guys' insecurities and just sad for the dogs and anyone/anything they hurt
You know neutering is not the solution for everything, i've heard English and american people preach it as a must do yet it's not always needed, depends on the dog. A good training goes way beyond a simple " balls cut"
@@areswalker5647 Yes, obviously good training trumps everything. But neutering/spaying an animal most certainly changes behavior. Hormones have an extremely powerful influence on our behavior and development. If you've ever spent time with an intact cat for example, male or female, it's quite apparent. Dogs, humans, etc. are just as influenced. (I say this having a degree in Biology and as a teacher of both Biology and Anatomy.)
@@Sleipnirseight that's true but not all problems humans have with their dogs are being caused by hormones, in most cases they are just a result from a bad training, lack of exercise and socialization. Things that, neutering or not, won't change if the human doesn't act on them. And neutering is still an invasive procedure so if the dog needs it that's fine, but if the dog doesn't it's best to leave it. I'm not saying "never neuter a dog" or "you have to always neuter a dog", i'm saying look at the dog, get why he has the issues he has and only then decide what's best for him.

I first saw the Presa Canario maybe a month or less ago here on this show and went on to look them up and watched a few more videos on them. They're amazing and powerful and not for the average home at all. Randomly a few days later I was bored and was looking at Craigslist. I clicked on the pets out of curiosity and ended up finding an add for Rhodesian Ridgeback/Presa Canario puppies for sale in my local area. I was absolutely sad and wondered if these folks had any idea of what they were doing. I hope to hell that whomever adopts any of those pups did their research.
Tara Crosby It’s not the Ridgeback part of the dog they need to worry about. We’ve had Ridgebacks for 30 years, both male and female. They are protective, but are intelligent and family oriented. Actually, they were named the number one family dog in the UK a few years back. The dog in this video should have been trained from week 8. Of course, ANY dog can be a danger if not trained properly.
My uncle has an Rhodesian ridgeback Belgium Shepard cross she very aggressive but is a big sook with him but used to go for me when she was a puppy. ( still up to my waist ). She never got trained and is a bloody nightmare. I wish my family had done research before they got him it
A lot of those dogs will probably end up in some sort of dog fighting situation unfortunately. Some ends up as bait animals as well. I can’t believe craigslist still allows this. 🤦🏻♀️
Yeah, my grandfather has Ridgeback as a farm dog/companion and he’s lovely, but I’ve had to grab him once he played too rough with the chickens and started drawing blood. Knowing he has a prey drive means never having the two out at the same time. Just common sense
Its a cavalier king charles, they are very calm loveable breeds im shocked that its still alive too but im thinking that other dog was brought up as a pup around the cavie so is protective of them too.
Many people say the smaller dog is scared honestly just looks slightly older and overweight the presa gave no attention to it plus I saw the A/C vent some dogs love cold air
it makes me feel really happy to just see casper and his owner just playing together :} it’s beautiful to see that a dog that can be so vicious be so friendly
they are. they like that they have a 'dangerous dog' that makes people afraid. if not of them, least their dog ya? i know a guy who got a belgian shepard and that dog was totally aggressive towards strangers, so much he had to wear a muzzle for walking. poor dog was actually a sweetheart, but he was trained to be like that, when the guy lost the dog and a family member adopted him, he turned into a sweet puppy! i also remember walking thru london and seeing lots of gangs of weirdo pseudo gangster guys and nearly all of them had dogs like that.. that people are afraid of their dog gives them some sense of power...
This is what people mean when they say there are no bad dogs. There are untrained dogs, dogs who don't know better, ect but this dog is a great example that with some training they can be better, Casper turned into a much better dog and is much more well behaved

Omg I’m disgusted wasn’t this couple from another video 🤦🏼♀️ it’s their fault they trap him inside all day. Casper is trapped inside all day and it’s sparking his aggression. He just wants to be free; this is why active dogs shouldn’t be put into the hands of teens just because they think it looks cool.
That poor charles spaniel!!!! Imagine having to be scared all the time. If they dont rehome casper they should consider rehoming the spaniel. A good family will take him/her no problem
Well, here in Germany you actually have to take a test if you want to buy or adopt a big dog. And another, harder one if you want to have a "dangerous" dog (both "big" and "dangerous" dogs are defined by law, just like the tests you have to take).
I like how people are scared of Casper and the other puppy, who's the tiniest in the room, just lies there like 'Yea, this is how it is around here lol.'
Very debatable, if the dog was yours from a pup and brought up with nothing but love and depending on the breed of dog if it has a brain it’s it’s head they would never harm there owner. They aren’t just beasts with teeth they understand love and affection and they give it back.

It annoys me when people downplay how dangerous those dogs could be.
Any dog with teeth can bite, people greatly neglect smaller dogs. All dogs need training.
L.A. Smith You are absolutely correct.
How did a dog nearly get your eye?

Yup...that guy was naive for getting a hard, strong breed like that.
Yes you have to be harsh with scum who weaponised there dogs...
Ever notice that she’s the same way with correcting the dogs? No sugarcoating, no chances, just nip the bad behavior in the bud. You have to with dogs, they think faster than we do.
Yup! And all without being insulting or mocking. It's a skill.
Considering she's English, that not-sugarcoating is indeed impressive.
Tyson!!!!???🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@titosteinsgaming9340Tyson is the pitbull at the dog trainers.
Thank you for saying that! I think dogs should always be in training from the start especially if it's breeds that tend to get aggressive more easily
@@loriwest4777 Sometimes training won't help if dog has aggression in it's nature.
How long did it take you to type that?
I know and i agree it also very common here were im from for someone to get a puppy and train them a little but once they get bigger they abandon them and it is something that i wish didnt happen but it does and that breaks my heart
True

Edit: Thanks for all the likes ☺️☺️☺️ It shows that many of you really care about the dogs and their owners who have been trained and educated by Victoria - many times the owners were more difficult to train than their 🐕🐕🐕

Neuturing doesnt change dog behavior. Its for health reasons and not to breed.
Neutering can make aggression issues with a dog worse. Especially when neutered before maturity
That dog owner has no clue about these dogs, he's those typical dudes who wants these tough looking aggressive dogs so they can look cool.

I have a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Rottweiler/German Shepherd mix and while he is protective, he's also very gentle and sweet and lovable.
Yeah, my grandfather has Ridgeback as a farm dog/companion and he’s lovely, but I’ve had to grab him once he played too rough with the chickens and started drawing blood. Knowing he has a prey drive means never having the two out at the same time. Just common sense

Very debatable, if the dog was yours from a pup and brought up with nothing but love and depending on the breed of dog if it has a brain it’s it’s head they would never harm there owner. They aren’t just beasts with teeth they understand love and affection and they give it back.

Paige_ Livesey is that info actually true? If that is true, that would make a lot of sense. That woman is utterly useless. She does nothing, but ignore situations with dogs. Never addresses the problem nor corrects the dog. Her “training” is far more dangerous than any dog.
Me is a chicken I have two Rottweilers and my methods of training them came from Cesar Millan. He understands dog psychology which this woman does not. It doesn’t matter who trains the dog, it just matters if dog is trained correctly. But you can have the best trainer in the world train your dog, but if you don’t keep up with it, the training will be useless. Training is 24/7 with a dog. Watch the Dog Whisperer and you’ll see the proper way to train a dog.
It annoys me when people downplay how dangerous those dogs could be. Not putting them into training and then allowing them near kids, taking photos and post them on social media with "oh and they say it's such a dangerous dog" description.
