😂 Best hardware DAW ever. This and QY100 + QY 300 / 700. Needs a revamped version ASAP (with updated sounds and sampling function like in Yamaha SU700 / EW425 / SX600) and it will make Yamaha billions!
Brilliant. Remember watching an interview with Bjork and she was really into this thing. I always wanted one too... you totally got the goods out of it. Well done.
@igorecord a software version of the API 2500 set to "old mode" with the lo thrust circuit engaged works well with the lovely 80's synthwave sound you got here. Btw It's sooooo nice to hear a full Yamaha sound set being used - especially that Guru Josh saxophone patch - you hardly ever hear those used these days, apart from standard DX7 presets.
@@darwiniandude Yes, it’s just like that! I bought it as a MIDI controller for external devices. But then I removed all the synthesizers from the table and left only yamaha 🤭
I sort-of bought it for the same reason.. but I find programming it a bit too involved, compared to other sequencers. Most of the time I just resort to Ableton or the Octatrack.
@@igorecord there are a few extra XG parameters I think, accessible on the QY-700 but not the 70 or 100 (years ago I had the 70, regret selling it, have a 100 now) anyway I think parameters for portamento / mono mode etc. might be able to manually put the messages in the event list, not sure. Anyway I enjoyed the video, thanks. :)
Hello and thank you very much for this impressive video ;) i have a question. Is it possible to record automation of the cutoff for example? Big thanks forward
I did this the previous three days in the evenings (about 6 hours total). With daily practice and reading the instructions, you can master the device quite quickly. I'm still discovering new things about it even though I've owned it for over 10 years.
@@kevinsturges6957 I like these buttons, but I would add backlighting for the screen and buttons, a more modern screen, and an FM synth. I think the form factor and navigation button placement are very good for a device of this size. Although I have not used any other modern portable device and I have nothing to compare it with.
It's like if Com Truise made soundtracks for Dos Games with a Soundblaster :D
I’ll take that as a compliment😁

Yamaha, hear it!😁
RS7000 was noice too, but quite huge. Still regret I’ve decided to sell it
Gorgeous! You've really nailed a great set with your recent tracks.
Thanks!Maybe preparing a set for the performance. 😉
TH-cam randomly recommended this, fantastic sound mate, really enjoyed that!
Thanks for coming to the channel🙂👍
Magic Synthwave machine. Great job.
It’s all in our hands!😉
Brilliant. Remember watching an interview with Bjork and she was really into this thing. I always wanted one too... you totally got the goods out of it. Well done.
Thank you!
I have not seen these devices with famous musicians, except for Björk, she had a Yamaha QY20.🙂✌️
@igorecord you need a nice limiter to mix into. Try an 1176 or an La2a. It would really make your performances shine...
Thanks for the advice, I’ll try to work with these limiters in software.
Although I'm not very good at post-production.

This was the absolute best option for a long time if you wanted to compose music on the go. The sequencer was a beast.
He remains a beast! What modern devices can you use to compose on the go? OP1 or something else?
@@igorecord iPads w/ Beatmaker3 or the like blow it all away. But QY’s are cooler & like using a Playstation Portal or Atari Lynx.
Great work! And what an interesting way of playing. Notes taken. :-)
Thanks! I feel freer with one device in my hands, than with a bunch of devices on my desk 🙂👍
This is amazing. I have a qy70 in the closet somewhere, never realized you can do this with it. Thanks for sharing!
It's time to dust off!😃
Also, it's 'just' midi - so you can do all this, then use the midi parts to trigger other external synths or software in the computer. Super handy.

Good job, great QY-70, I'll be getting mine out soon too. Majestic music
Thank you! Lucky ;-)
Sounds great! An orange oil wipe will clean up your front panel really nicely. The patina is fun too though.
thank you! but it's not dirt, it's worn paint, plastic of natural color is visible on the corners of the device
зачетные кассеты на столе кстати
База! С удовольствием переслушиваю😊
yeah still keep it rockin' hard... those were the times... this was and still is an amazing machine to diddle around with...
Thanks! 🙂🙌
The tape background is a great touch. Song is super dope
Thanks! ✌️😀
Great sounds !! Excellent work !! 💯👏
Thanks! ☺️
💢Som muito bom! De quando é esse teclado? Essa musiquinha já vem programada nele?
Obrigado! Eu mesmo programei essa música, neste teclado.
Sir, excellent job! thanks for sharing
Thank you, I will share more.😉🥳

Thanks! Yes it possible. th-cam.com/video/XcUNfE4oU9A/w-d-xo.htmlsi=EuIBuoSHn7tEK1bU
So good - you managed to get a lot of power out of that machine!
I limited myself to one device in order to squeeze all the juices out of it 🙂
Absolutely Stunning…💙💙
Ooh! Thanks!❤️
One thing I learned is that - its the person behind the device that makes the music sound good. No more GAS for me!
Thank you! I found my favorite sound in this device! :-)
Well, not bad bro, really not bad
Thanks for the kind words!🥳👊
Really nice! Well done.
Thanks!!!🙂🥳
Sounds very good. This machine was excellent.. Nevertheless i sold mine...
Thank you! Glad you liked it! 🙂
Amazing song! Are all sounds from the QY 70? Thanks 🎉
@@thorstenweimar1190Thanks! 😊Yes, sounds from QY70.
@@igorecord Wow! Just ordered one 😊, your video convinced me!
Many people bought this device because of my videos. Yamaha must make an updated QY! 💥
@@igorecord True 😉👍
Поймал настроение, круть! Лайк, Подписка!
Спасибо за доверие 😉🙂
Охрененная композиция!
От души!🙂
As has been said elsewhere in the comments: Random TH-cam recommendation for the win!
Thanks
😃
Do you think you could do dungeon synth?
I think I could, this machine has all the capabilities to create a characteristically dungeon synth sound.
Impressive!
Thanks!🙂😉
Очен и очень талантливо!
Спасибо! 🙏
Sometimes the youtube algo does it right.
That's good to hear, and encouraging.
👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
Great, but how many hours to program all that? And how many months to get good enough at it?

Let’s hope the next Seqtrak takes a cue from this heritage. 😅

Which of the internal drumkits is that?
In this track I use the DarkRKit.

The little rubber buttons are really nasty and hard to trigger accurately. This is an amazing machine that def needs a remake with better hardware.
