During the '80s, we play those O-ring joes carelessly in the sand box like we're the ones making the story. Now, it seems toys are more of collecting and display purposes now. Nevertheless, I'm glad we're having figures that weren't released back then.
I'd be curious to see how these new Super 7 figures hold up to rough play and exposure to UV light. I wonder if they would hold up as well as the vintage figures.
Having collected the originals and worn them out due to play as a kid, I am happy to see this revision…it is a throw back to the original 9 in terms of design…the comments on flatness of the sculpting….the original 9 where very plain in terms of legs, arms and faces….i definitely this this a a good return to an action figure from the posible statues the 25th anniversary and later turned into…these make you want to get down and play with them
From what I've seen is that they do fit the early 80's bodies, but they are a little loose or floppy. They won't work with the 85 and after style chests.
Yeah I agree with everything you said. I swapped out my CC O-ring with a replacement and he is much better. Some of the problem for me is the matte paint on the shiny plastic. Everything is just a little bland in this first wave.
Definitely a solid comparison video. I agree that all 4 are good figures but still room for improvement. If I didn't already have the 4 originals, I would jump on this offer. For Snake Eyes, it would be interesting to see a comparison side by side with v1.5, v2, and v4 to see how the Super 7 Snake Eyes compares. As for cover Girl, I would like to see an o-ring variation of the Sgt Savage cartoon Cover Girl. The price point is reasonable for army building the BATs compared to army building the vintage BATs.
Still waiting for the Wet Suit & Torpedo land assault two pack like we saw them in GiJoe Yearbook #4. Those guys are always bringing spearguns to gunfights.
I'm deep in Classified and spending more money on Joe than I necessarily want to, so I'll pass. But I hope for you o-ring collectors they get closer to classic. I would be disappointed in the heads too. When I was a kid, a big appeal of Joe was that they were so much better articulated than Kenner Star Wars (which I pretty much abandoned when MotU took over for me).
@@Pegwarmers That’s probably a safe bet. 😊 I don’t have all LLs yet, though. I have to get Dino Hunters LL, but I’m going to aim at just the figure for that one.
Sorry Kev however I can’t get behind these after just about finishing off my loose vintage ARAH collection. Thxs for doing a side by side comparison with the vintage… these new figures are way too “bland” for myself and barely seem like an upgrade from the ReAction line. If I’m gonna spend on modern Joe… I’ll start buying Classified.
@@Pegwarmers excellent review all things considered. Oddly I do have the MOTU and TMNT ReAction lines in full… so maybe that’s my issue having those and being on the ARAH hunt the last two years. If anything I’d go for the Hasbro however think for Joe it’s the vintage or death.

Yeah, I'm glad we are getting new stuff!

Home star was the best
I love him!
Homestar runner!
He's great!
Homestar Runner and the Fensler G.I. Joe PSAs were the best.
Yep
Easy, breezy, beautiful, cover girl 💁♀️
You know it!
Can we put the new heads on the vintage g1 joes? Thanks

Great video. Good points.
Thanks!
Totally agree with you on Snake-Eyes, I`m not really diggin the blue boots.
It's odd.
GI Joe came on before school
It was after school where I grew up.
Actually purchased Cobra Commander as he’s the best out of the first series.
Good move!
~Buy all their playsets and toys!!!~
You know the jingle!
@@Pegwarmers Hahaha! Cheap as free!
Covergirl can swivel her head pretty well, In fact she can swivel her head as well as Cobra Commander.
Her hair doesn't get in the way on yours?
@@Pegwarmers No, it turns around 45° about the sames as the vintage swivel headed figures.
Can we put the new head on the vintage g1 cover girl? Thanks
@MrHsauvageau I have not tried, but zi heard the new Commander head was kind of loose on the original Commander body.

Good to hear the O-Ring swap helped.
The next ones coming are the Tomax & Xamot in the blue suits
I have mine ordered. I'm really hoping to be impressed with them. They are exactly the kind of thing I want from this line.

Yeah, they aren't terrible, but they could be better.
I love the BATS
It's a good figures
Cancelled my order after watching this. Thanks for your honest review.
Your welcome.
Replace all the o rings and hooded cobra commander head looks way better on him
I wish there were wrist articulations. The Delta-17 line seems to be the S tier o-rings right now.
I don't need more articulation than vintage GI Joe, but I don't want less.
I think the figures look cool man.😀💡👍
That's good!
Still waiting for the Wet Suit & Torpedo land assault two pack like we saw them in GiJoe Yearbook #4. Those guys are always bringing spearguns to gunfights.
Yeah, that's the kind of stuff that could be cool. Even Deep Six in an articulated version of his original dive suit.
When you had the SGT Slaughter in frame with these reaction plus figures he made all of them look like scrawny recruit figures
He sure does!
I am passing on super 7. There O ring figures look like mannequins.
That's an interesting way of describing them.
Yes it is awesome we are getting GIJoes but at least make them closer to the vintage and yup the legs seem too skinny
We will see what happens.
Yo where can I get a Homestar Runner puppet?? 😮
Fangamer dot com. It's the merch tab on homestarrunner dot com

Will you go for Lowlight if they do him?

That's fine. No pressure from me. Cobra Commander is the one if you are curious at all.

Same for unpainted rivets :/
Hasbro covers the rivets.
Snake eyes needs more detail in his mask and not a fan of the weapons they are over sized. And his sword 🗡️ is not long
Yeah, maybe this vintage weapons are too small? But these new ones are too big.
The year is 2024. There is no excuse for any toy company to make a swivel neck o-ring figure. This includes Hasbro and Super7. Very disappointing.
It's interesting to see the differences between the modern o-ring figures from Hasbro and Super7
