As someone who grew up during the Star Wars era of stiff-armed lightsaber fights and laser duels with next to no possibility, I can't emphasize how revolutionary the O-Ring Joe's felt as a kid, despite some other manufacturers/lines having touched on it before. This video should have included Carson, delta 17, operation longbow people. Not just a guy who is very bias. A one sided “documentary” doesn’t make for a good story. Also invest in some lighting.
You left out call sign longbow in the navy figures and you failed to talk about your figures. The 5 POA figures you made. 😉did you see how awesome super7 figures are. They don’t even have ball joint heads. They went real old school 😉😎😂😂😂you guys are super funny. You must have fooled tones of people with this figurementary lmao 😂
VEHICLES! -- One thing that wasn't mentioned. When the figures are this small the vehicles are also reasonably small, the line wasn't only figures there were tons of reasonably sized vehicles. I don't want a huge $300 Hiss tank, or a $325 huge rattler. How do you even find room to display those? Not once in this video did you mention this aspect of why some of us will never collect 6" GiJoe or Starwars. That is personally why I won't. I have no issue with Marvel/DC at the 6" size because...no vehicles needed. Thank you for showing me the Delta17, might have to show them some support.
@@ToyAttics I know they did but I'm just saying why I only collect the 3.75. I have 40 vehicles for the original 3.75 GiJoes and for these (for me) the size and prices are the bigger problem.
Regarding super7, there are plenty of people who want a redo of the originals. Just because they have been made before doesn't mean everyone has access to them or wants to deal with brittle old joes
Vala needs to stop saying 3.75” is a niche scale and no one is making then. There are hundreds of them coming out every year. There are between 1500 to 2000 Reactions and its not slowing down. Almost every major company has a line of some kind. Hasbro is supp returning to the scale in a big way given 6” is getting out of hand pricewise. That’s what the Ghostbusters line is about. Its a test. Vala is too closed minded on this topic. Its frustrating given he seems to be in denial. He’ll never be convinced because he doesnt want to listen. There are thousands of the damn things that have come out the past few years. I know because I have a whole lot of them. Also Im not talking about just o-ring. I mean the 3.75” scale in general. He seems to think 6” is just better no matter what. If the price is similar im going to get the one i like the best scale be damned. If its a nostalgia or retro line thats going to heavily tip the scale in its favor. That can go for a 6” fig if its a retro card like Classified retro or Black Series on a classic card back. Ill take a Dime Novel Legends old west figure from Chicken Fried Toys any day of the week over a 6” figure that looks like everything else. Making these “dated” figures with modern tech has nothing to do with how it feels. Last time i checked plastic is plastic. Isnt that right Bobby? That’s what you like to say when the online plastic salesman give you a hard time in the comments.
😂😂 not like i worked on both scales and know the industry. Oh wait, I should be listening to an armchair quarterback TH-cam comment. How many 6” figures are coming out vs 3.75/4”? The difference is 10 to 1 by far. Pretty sure that makes it a niche scale. How many figures does Dime Novel put out? Not many. Bet you if he switched to 6” they would sell more. AWOK as terrible as they are, even moved away from the scale. Boss fight as well. But you seem like you know the ins and outs of the industry so I should go with your expert opinion. Thanks for enlightening me 🙌🏻
I have purchased a bit from all the O-Ring companies in the last year and Delta 17 is the cream of the crop. Many more still haven't shipped yet. Old Joe fans have never had so many options and I'm here for it. If The Corps goes back to O-Ring I'll go broke.
Anyone a final faction fan?? Think that looks he could have been amazing… hope they come out with some more and some more vehicles… super under rated line
@@ToyAttics like late season Game of Thrones dark, do you think because tou talk about GI Joe that all your viewers own night vision goggles ?- that Biden economy has hit everyone’s electricity bill hard but videos shot in the dark are cray cray
I will always be a 3.75 guy.. I really like the Operation Recall line. They have a cool story, and the figures are fire. Couple that with Carson getting the OG Joe designer's to create the line.. I can't wait. I agree that Delta 17 needs a story to drive more interest and Skeletron, too. Maybe even a collaboration between the 2. idk. Fun show, man! Till the next 👊
@ToyAttics I did.. then I became a backer.. I just got both versions of those spec cards they did. BnW and color.. I purchased 1, but he sent me both. You and Toy Federation exposed me to his line.. and I'm grateful.
The irony of Bobby Vala talking about companies trying to "replicate the look of something dated". Then, me looking over at the Valaverse Desert Rat retro 5poa figure that he's literally giving away in his mystery boxes because nobody wants it. 😅
I've picked up half a dozen Delta 17s. They are not perfect, but they are very very nicely done - I especially like the rotating wrists. This scale is great for vehicles down the road (or fitting into existing ones of which there is no shortage). And even if you don't figure those in, this scale allows you to collect more figures and display/store more of them than bigger figures. I'm also waiting for Longbow, and hope I don't have to wait long for them. Picked up the Super7 Reaction + and haven't quite decided on those yet. 6 inch doesn't appeal to me at all because it is bigger, takes up more space, and won't display with my older stuff.
Just got to say the comparison between the first issue of gi joe and delta 17 is a bit unfair. Comic writing has changed drastically from 1982 to 2024. Back then comics heavily leaned tot Ellington a full story in one issue and thus tend to be packed with detail while modern comics stretch out story telling a bit more
It's got to be hard for a small company to make a cartoon let alone get some figures out. I agree we need something to make you want them more but for now nostalgia of the O-ring will have to do until someone with money wants to take the risk. I think the cost overall to the fanbase is what will kill the O-ring comeback, needs to be 10 to 15 dollars per figure.
In my opinion, lighting sets the tone of a scene. While i do feel that the lighting is very well done, it does seem out of place for this type of video. Its their choice at the end of the day. Most of us seem to agree that it is "too dark" but its not our video. It would have been cool if you took the constructive criticism well, or at least respected it as others opinions.
@ToyAttics Wow. That's one way to look at it I suppose. I think you may be taking all this a little too personal. When you create content like this, you are literally putting your artistic expression on display for those to consume and critique. If you can't handle that, you may need to take a step back. I didn't mean to offend. It was a great video and I enjoyed it none the less. I hope you can find it in you to look at this differently. We all have room to learn and grow, not just you.
@@ToyAttics Really letting your true colors shine huh? You want a cookie or something? Kinda pathetic that your in your comments hating on people. I'm done with you, this was just dissapointing and sad.
I'm not a fan of the o-ring figures because i feel the tooling is too dated and could be done using less, and more durable parts but there are other lines out there in 4" with great sculpts and articulation that would rival 6" like joytoy, acid rain etc. Joytoy wrist are like 1/6 scale with a ball joints
It’s pretty cool because as a father I get to buy stuff like these and see what my kids make of them. It’s great that companies are still making this style, but, I must agree with the story’s/cartoon it needs more effort/building.
I think adults forget that kids have smaller hands and better eyesights, so the smaller scale isn't an issue for them, it's actually way better because of all the vehicles they get to play with.
Maybe a dead scale but at least it’s not brittle or breaks like Valaverse figures have especially like the vanguard wheels falling off or broken I have pictures to prove it ! O rings are durable ..
And if you messaged us, I bet you got a replacement. Durability can only go so far when the carrier crushes boxes. Thanks for your industry knowledge. 🙌🏻
I'm glad to see the "revival" of o-ring figures, but some are better than others. Delta 17 is by far the best, Strike Force Alpha is ok, and we'll have to see about the 3 other o-ring kickstarters that have yet to deliver. However, the $20+ price tag will drive away most collectors. I'm on the fence about S7's o-rings. Cobra Commander and Snake Eyes are great, but Cover Girl and BAT are kind of lame and Unncessary. They should have started with a Sunbow Cobra Trooper and Raven (the female Strato Viper that 40 something dudes are bizarrely obsessed with).
I do like the look of the D-17 guys , so much so I looked them up on BBTS. The figures are costing 27 dollars, 3 more dollars you have a Action Force figure. That price is what could kill the line before it gets of the ground .It's a lot of buck for very little bang.
@@ToyAttics Which means you don’t have a fan base from a young age looking to find the figures they missed or had when younger. This could short cycle the fan/collector group. I love the Classified line, I’m just bummed we most likely won’t have the experience we had/have with ARAH, Star Wars, etc. I just hope the 3 3/4” model doesn’t fade away like he thinks. Thank you for your content!
@@stevecherney1612 _I just hope the 3 3/4” model doesn’t fade away like he thinks._ The 3-3/4" Mattel Jurassic World and Jazwares Fortnite lines have been chugging along for years now, as has Spin Master's kid-focused DC Superheroes line (I just purchased a very nice 1989 _Batman_ Batwing complete with, oddly, an action figure of Michael Keaton in his _Batman Returns_ costume from Walmart just the other day). Jazware's 1/18th-scale Halo line had a good run (probably failed eventually due to way too many identical Master Chief figures in his _Infinite_ armour in each wave and the general lukewarm reception of _Halo: Infinite_ itself), and Hasbro's more kid-focused Marvel and Star Wars lines are in 1/18th-scale as well (as are those cheap action figure sets that Walmart and Toys R Us sell), so I don't think 3-3/4" action figures will fade away any time soon (for more high-end examples, check out what Hiya Toys is doing, or Joytoy and their immense and constantly-expanding Warhammer 40,000 line).
It seems Vala’s negative response to Skeletron comes more as jab since he probably upset they secured the Red Shadows and Skeletron name trademarks first. Valaverse Action Force it is an obvious take on the original Action Force from UK by Palitoy whose enemies were the Red Shadows. Hence why Valaverse has the Crimson Shadows introduced in the last wave. Also Skeletron are releasing 6” figures with the Skeletron vehicle. Both lines are great and at the end, the collectors win. Better than the retail love.
Maybe Bobby & the guys at Delta-17 could do a collab where Bobby makes some D17 characters in 6" and Delta makes some 3.75" Action Force! Pass that along to him, would ya? Haha
@ToyAttics Ahh, no? That's a bummer. I thought maybe since he seemed to dig what they were doing but doesn't want to get involved with 1:18 himself, he might be up for working with them on a little crossover. Just protective over his brand I guess?
@ToyAttics Right, but my idea is that Delta would do some 3.75" Action Force & Bobby would do 6" Delta-17 characters, so he'd still be working in 6" while crossing over with a 1:18 line he seems to respect. Best of both worlds!
Personally I think these all look incredible, happy to see the resurgence of this design. To my mind this was the perfect combination of size, poseability and playability for action figures as a kid, and will never be topped. While I get the love as adults for the larger figures and their extra detail, I'd happily snap up all of these if I could. I love the designs.
@@ToyAttics Just the usual combination of money/shipping etc. Too many adult expenses that have to come before the hobby. Not to mention my wife sitting next to me saying 'No!'

when he says for the same or a little more you can get a six inch figure... i dunno man, starting to feel like every new classified is a deluxe $45 dollar figure and new marvel legends are $27 inching towards $30 a figure.
I don't care about cost, sales and viability of a line in 30 years time; if I like a modern toy and it's vintage sized, then I'm buying it. And that's from someone who also buys the 1/12 Hasbro and Mezco, S7 and NECA Ultimates. A well made toy is a well made toy. But I understand on this occasion where BV is coming from considering he has a business to run.
@@ToyAttics What way do they think? (For clarification, when I say cost I mean manufacturing cost.) All I think about are aesthetics and articulation. What else is there? Yes, of course retail cost comes into it but more often than not, those aren't too bad at vintage size, are they? Although saying that, I only really buy SW Hasbro Vintage, not indies. Does indie vintage get pricey like indie 1/12 does? My two Fire and Ice figures are very spicy price wise lol
super 7 should make figures based on the new comicbook versions alongside new characters, they can do their usual classic stuff later as a side line...
I think O-rings are cool figures. I think they could be great with a lot of variables, a good hook, backed by media, but really quantity and price is the key. Gi Joe did good for those reasons. $3 to $5 bucks is why Joes rocked as kids, add a $10 Vamp or Hiss….i know times are different, but… We could collect cans, use our paper route money and grab a couple figures a week as a kid. Kids can’t do that or have no want to.
I have to agree the new O-Ring lines are targeting a niche market. As it specifically targets kids from the 80’s & 90’s. Eventually, the nostalgia train will dry up just like the 12” GI Joes. No one wants to hear that, but it’s true as sad as that sounds.
_I have to agree the new O-Ring lines are targeting a niche market. As it specifically targets kids from the 80’s & 90’s._ Same thing with 6" toys and kids from the early 2000s. I don't think the current adult collector focus on 1/12th-scale action figures will last. Most of the big, kid-centric action figure lines currently on shelves are in 1/18th-scale, which means that that's the scale that the next generation of adult toy collectors are currently imprinting on and will gravitate towards when they become adults with disposable income. _Eventually, the nostalgia train will dry up just like the 12” GI Joes._ 12" is doing fine. It's just really, really expensive LOL.
I wish they would just make the G.I. Joe figures like they did when I was a kid. Even the plastic is cheaper now and also the cardboard backing is flimsy. They don't make them like they used to that's for sure.
I like Bobby Vala and I'm so thrilled that someone hired Mark "Honcho" Weber but he's being a little silly. There was a reason GI JOE figures were 4 inches tall and that was so they could sell kids an affordable vehicle. Business wise Hasbro wasn't in the action figure game, they were in the vehicle game. They practically gave the figures away at practically cost. The profits were all in the vehicles. They used stickers instead of paint and had the consumer assemble the vehicle cutting the labor costs to a fraction of their competitors. With inflation today a 3-dollar figure in 1982 would be equal to about 10 dollars today. The super-articulated figures of today cost way more than that to manufacture.
@@ToyAttics Yeah I guess I was rather unclear. My point is he acts like the 1/18 scale is dead and only a niche product and that o-rings are a niche with in a niche, when the reality is that action figures as a phenominia the way they were in the 70s, 80s, and 90s will never be a thing again. GI Joe wasn't an action figure line. It was a vehicle line that included figures as a way to encourage vehicle sales. It's like a movie theater doesn't make money showing movies, it makes money selling concessions you consume while you watch the movie. Mcdonalds doesn't make money selling Big Macs they make money selling french fries. Gas stations don't make money selling gas, they make money selling cigarettes and food at a huge markup. The highly articulated figures spend so much money on design and tooling that there's no difference in the cost of a 1/18 scale figure or a 1/12 scale figure. but there's still a huge difference in a 1/18 and a 1/12 scale vehicles. 1/12 scale vehicles are too expensive to sell to kids. Unless you're marketing to kids, your toys are niche and your fanbase is dwindling.
I do want to emphasize that I do love Bobby Vala as a guy. Honestly, I really love a lot of these creators that have had the courage to branch out and give it a go. Toy Kennections, Troy at Longbow, the Fried chicken toys guys, Brian at Super 7, The Marauders guys. It really is a hobby that brings out the best of our tweener not quite Gen x but not quite Gen y either peers. And Bobby had the sense to hire Mark Weber so Valaverse gets extra points for that
For you to make a video about this and the fact that Bobbies in it and action force is doing the same thing is kinda hilarious! They keep bringing out figures that are great figures the quality makes gi joe classifed look like shit and all but we barely know jack shit about any of the characters. They did the same thing with there comic and once they started making money they just through the comic to the side and I hear him say why do you need to have a connection or nostalgia to these characters to collect a new line. Well I think you explained it!
It fascinates me that there is a sort of divide between collectors. Some collectors just love toys and don't need a story to be a fan. Others have an attachment to a story and they collect based on that. For me, Transformers, Ghostbusters, and Turtles are what I collect. Often though I will buy something and find myself wondering why I have it. Usually, when I start to wonder why I have something, it starts on its way to the aftermarket.
Pretty sure the dog is a Belgian Malinois. It's a fire and forget fur missile. Uber smart and pound for pound nothing is scarier. Units have moved to smaller dog breeds for deployment and logistical reasons. HALO/HAHO operations are a lot easier with a smaller doggo strapped to your chest.

Late to the video but was going to mention them as well. I think from a wester perspective 1:18 scale from a nostalgia perspective is dying, but I think it is gaining new fans, joy toy, and acid rain been around for a while. They are pricey figures but they’re still around which means somebody’s buying them. Maybe it’s the Asian market. Joe is a Chinese company I believe. They have great vehicles also. They even make historical figures such as the three kingdoms.
@@danielaleman4844 i know you mean “joy toy” instead of “joe”. They are pricey but the quality is so good! Also: vintage, new & joy toy is all hovering around the same price. Why buy vintage 1:18 when JT & AR are the same price for much better quality?
GI joe ( IMO) is doing well, because Gen X doesnt need a story. We have a story. ARAH and the comics. Thats all we need. If you notice, when they deviate too much from the cartoon or comic, the figures doesnt do as well. G1 masterpeice transformers sell for hundreds of dollars a figure off the strength of the G1 cartoon. Thats is who is buying classified at the moment. Now if you want to pull kids in, then do a cartoon, but they you need to make these figures cheaper than 25 dollars each.
I think it's too late now. Especially since 6" GI Joe Classifieds are established now. If 3.75" was readily available when classified started then I'd have gone with 3.75" like the original because of the space, lower price, nostalgia, and vehicles are core to GI Joe (I'm not into 6" + scale vehicles). You can't compete now with near if not over $20 O-ring figures (super7) when 6" ones are a few bucks more and scale with Marvel Legends for example. It would take a huge push with affordable vehicles to compliment them, and the figures need to be too cheap to make sense now a days. EVEN THEN in a perfect storm it's still just niche to an older audience. Would it really be expensive though per figure for Hasbro to give us the true to original form repro GI Joe's? $10 - $15 each? Like how playmates is doing TMNT repro
I don’t own any. As I kid G I Joe was my most extensive toy line my parents bought me. None survived into adulthood, have not got the bug on Joes. Not to say this did give me an itch:)
The comic seems like an afterthought because it is. Or more specifically - a preceived obligitory part of 80s multi-media style Toylines. New cartoons, movies, and comics may do something for an IP in general, but have nothing to do with selling vintage based figures. Whether existing characters or an entirely new Line, the draw here is the style of figure. The other stuff can work as well, but would be part of the fun - not essential to understanding or marketing the brand. Even if the comics/cartoons/movies were done flawlessly, they would still be directed at those that already elected to collect the Lines. If other media somehow managed to pull in new audiences that became interested in collecting the Toylines, O-Ring usage would be a non-factor.
@@ToyAttics I did not say they never matter, but comics or cartoons made in 2024 are not going to drive interest in collecting figures that are O-Ring or 3 3/4 Scale as opposed to a different style/scale if they are not already into it. If collecting O-Ring figures is already niche, the demographic of those who need a push from other media to decide if they like sculpts must be miniscule.
@@ToyAttics Even if the toys themselves are perfectly suitable & enjoyable for children, these are targeted directly middle aged collectors. The comics & cartoons would be also. It might be a different story if a company aims directly at kids or a multigenerational audience straight away with O-Ring usage as the stylistic choice for the Toyline. The examples here do not come across that way at all. Even if there was success in bringing the kid/multi-gen markets to those brands - there is no reason to assume Comics & Cartoons would directly lead to a preference for O-Ring action figures.
I'll say as a kid I would have loved to incorporate these into my gijoe figures. They look cool and have a lot of play value. But for most collectors, 6" is the norm today. And Bobby raised a few good points on price between 3 3/4" and 6" figures. But speaking of price, Scarlett was the same price as every other gijoe figure in the 80s. I bought breaker and he didn't even come with a gun...lol. But still a very cool video on these figures!
The Super7 O ring joes look horrible. I'd actually like to see what Valaverse does with a 3 3/4 Action Force line. It would be interesting to see how Valaverse innovates the scale. While I've never thought of Action Force as a "Rip off" of G.I. Joe I definitely see the influence, but I like that. It's interesting to see, "this is their take on this kind of character." or "this is influenced by this character from this line." Art influences art and toy creation is modern art, so I say have at it!
Lk i think the most important thing for each line is to pick a vibe and go with it… like delta 17 were so hot to me and gave off like “Predator” style dark 80s military fantasy vibe, but the new man tanks are hideous bro i just dont know what to say i cant buy that on the other hand, id like to see strike force alpha dig in and explore their zany side More, because their zaniest figures were their best. with the one note that they lose those capes going forward
@@ToyAttics yeah he rocks. I also like the bullet dude. The capes are too big and goofy, like i asked my mom to make capes for my action figures, and they obscure the rest of the guy. Better to have a clip on imo, although tbh im not cape crazy in general. Maybe for a whacky dictator type guy every now and then. Would rather have another pistol or a satchel
Female characters don't sell well to boys under 13 who most of these toys where made for in the 80s-90s... The boy doesn't want to play as a girl and if you do get the girl figure- you only need one because you only have to rescue one girl not a legion of them :) As a collector based toy not made for 4 to 13 year old boys- female characters sell fine because most adults don't really play with toys they just display them or make dioramas or whatever
I first watched the apology video and then came back to watch this one. So you got me there made me check it out . That said I would not take everything to heart, but I do get a bit of the point of the comments and would like to translate to me how it felt. - specifically one shot, the transición of the multiple figures in shadow with a colored back light was jarring to my eyes, and a bit over used . When people are on the shot all is good it was only that little montage of showing multiple figures in that effect style was a bit over used and I did find it a bit Jarring . Again maybe just me and would not say I can do better I'm a nobody, but I am consuming this content for my pleasure so I did wanted to pass on those notes .
Appreciate that. It is stylized lighting. Not flat bright lighting, also I don’t think the figure isn’t visible it’s just darker and thought out and people aren’t willing to accept that. Sometimes I wish Netflix had a comments section
@@ToyAttics o yeah the figures Can be seen . And the style looks good . People over react, it's just a bit heavy on the eyes at least for me , maybe a one shoot or that it's a shorter timed shoot . If a toy comoany is going ti cut corners id take solid color weapons allday over the company, keeping the quality of the figure. The weapon could always be hand painted.
wow first and last video of yours im watching. 3/75 is *NOT* a dead line. people want that cause its far easier to army build AND STORE THEM. vehicles are not (except for a few) massive undertakings that take up a full desk for ONE item. i have THOUSANDS of 3.75 figures packed away in bins. the same bin i store a few hundred 3.75, i can barely fit 1/4 of that for 6" figures. super biased video, poorly lit, off on tangents left and right, nopenopenope. bye
To Bobby’s point about rip offs. GI Joe is a straight up rip off of sgt fury and howling commandos and shield. But no GI Joe fan either knows that or will bring that up. 😂
If Super 7 doesn't do toon versions of characters that were done in the 80s then the line will fail. I don't have the old O-rings anymore and having a toon accurate version would get me in versus only characters that haven't been done. They should be able to mix it to do both. Sadly Brian has stated the same so I haven't bought any of the new Wave 1 yet and won't until I see more classic characters and if they don't, then I won't get any. I don't buy 6 inch as I can't do $300 vehicles and Hasbro isn't doing the cartoon so I have no interest. Super 7's Ultimates are too pricey and that line seems to be in limbo already. For the other O-ring lines, I have zero interest as those aren't GIJOE as I don't care about military figures, its the IP of GIJOE that makes me interested. Time will tell but I am very worried about it as this is the closest we've come to getting cartoon Joes.
Its a cool concept, but like others have said, no media, high cost, and its been done. I think what hasbro did with the transformers that turn into joe vehicles and including o ring figures is an excellent concept, even super 7 as a line in tribute. Just a better version if reaction, but I dont think it will last and what do you do when you make all you can remake
Delta 17 would fare better as 1/12 scale figures. Their characters look interesting and would work well with Classified & Action Force, $25 for 3 3/4 is a tough sale for a new IP.
IMO oring is a dead scale, it's so niche it's there to fill the copium shelf. It's not a serious toyline, it's a boutique line to absorb as many Nostalgium dollars for the next 20 to 40 years when we no longer collect or are dead. $20? I may as well collect the old vintage line for as much or less, and I already have it all. So, not my line and I have no interest in new characters or IPs with no world building, no unique story, no unique vehicles, and no playsets, comics are dead. So no personal investment there, and there is no way a cartoon would get me interested even if it was amazing. It would still be ever more expensive boutique items. Kids want other stuff, not military lines.

You know this isn’t Vala’s channel right?
😂😂 not like i worked on both scales and know the industry. Oh wait, I should be listening to an armchair quarterback TH-cam comment. How many 6” figures are coming out vs 3.75/4”? The difference is 10 to 1 by far. Pretty sure that makes it a niche scale. How many figures does Dime Novel put out? Not many. Bet you if he switched to 6” they would sell more. AWOK as terrible as they are, even moved away from the scale. Boss fight as well. But you seem like you know the ins and outs of the industry so I should go with your expert opinion. The irony of Bobby Vala talking about companies trying to "replicate the look of something dated". Then, me looking over at the Valaverse Desert Rat retro 5poa figure that he's literally giving away in his mystery boxes because nobody wants it. 😅
Doesn’t that just prove his point?
Back then comics heavily leaned tot Ellington a full story in one issue and thus tend to be packed with detail while modern comics stretch out story telling a bit more
@@jackbalmont it wasn’t a full story in the first issue of GI Joe.
Can’t make a profit if they’re that cheap though
In my opinion, lighting sets the tone of a scene. While i do feel that the lighting is very well done, it does seem out of place for this type of video. Its their choice at the end of the day. Most of us seem to agree that it is "too dark" but its not our video. It would have been cool if you took the constructive criticism well, or at least respected it as others opinions.
It would be cool if people didn’t think their opinion mattered to how I create my videos.
@ToyAttics Wow. That's one way to look at it I suppose. I think you may be taking all this a little too personal. The 3-3/4" Mattel Jurassic World and Jazwares Fortnite lines have been chugging along for years now, as has Spin Master's kid-focused DC Superheroes line (I just purchased a very nice 1989 _Batman_ Batwing complete with, oddly, an action figure of Michael Keaton in his _Batman Returns_ costume from Walmart just the other day).

_I have to agree the new O-Ring lines are targeting a niche market. As it specifically targets kids from the 80’s & 90’s._
Same thing with 6" toys and kids from the early 2000s.
_Eventually, the nostalgia train will dry up just like the 12” GI Joes._
12" is doing fine. It's just really, really expensive LOL.
I wish they would just make the G.I. Joe figures like they did when I was a kid. Even the plastic is cheaper now and also the cardboard backing is flimsy. They don't make them like they used to that's for sure.
Yea
I think Delta 17 the designing team were the same people that designed the JOes back in the day just older ..
I’m not sure you made a point
It fascinates me that there is a sort of divide between collectors. Some collectors just love toys and don't need a story to be a fan. Others have an attachment to a story and they collect based on that. For me, Transformers, Ghostbusters, and Turtles are what I collect.

You’re saying that comics and cartoons don’t matter? That’s not correct at all
@@ToyAttics I did not say they never matter, but comics or cartoons made in 2024 are not going to drive interest in collecting figures that are O-Ring or 3 3/4 Scale as opposed to a different style/scale if they are not already into it. If collecting O-Ring figures is already niche, the demographic of those who need a push from other media to decide if they like sculpts must be miniscule.
Yes it will, because it will bring kids, a new audience.
That’s the problem. Theyre only targeting middle-age, a niche and dwindling market
Glad to see this! thanks for sharing. Would love to start up a collection of o-rings. 6-inch figures are just taking up a lot of room.
O-ring 6 inch figures!!?
I'll say as a kid I would have loved to incorporate these into my gijoe figures. They look cool and have a lot of play value. But for most collectors, 6" is the norm today. And Bobby raised a few good points on price between 3 3/4" and 6" figures.
But speaking of price, Scarlett was the same price as every other gijoe figure in the 80s. I bought breaker and he didn't even come with a gun...lol.
But still a very cool video on these figures!
@@AllBreaksLoose yea I said she was the same price
@@ToyAttics sorry I missed that. My bad.
That was my complaint is that she was the same price for less stuff
Bring back ball joints!
As in?
The Super7 O ring joes look horrible. I'd actually like to see what Valaverse does with a 3 3/4 Action Force line. It would be interesting to see how Valaverse innovates the scale. While I've never thought of Action Force as a "Rip off" of G.I. Joe I definitely see the influence, but I like that. It's interesting to see, "this is their take on this kind of character." or "this is influenced by this character from this line." Art influences art and toy creation is modern art, so I say have at it!
Well said
Lk i think the most important thing for each line is to pick a vibe and go with it… like delta 17 were so hot to me and gave off like “Predator” style dark 80s military fantasy vibe, but the new man tanks are hideous bro i just dont know what to say i cant buy that
on the other hand, id like to see strike force alpha dig in and explore their zany side More, because their zaniest figures were their best. with the one note that they lose those capes going forward
Not a fan of the cape? I like the multi-arm guy
They are a little big
Female characters don't sell well to boys under 13 who most of these toys where made for in the 80s-90s... The boy doesn't want to play as a girl and if you do get the girl figure- you only need one because you only have to rescue one girl not a legion of them :)
As a collector based toy not made for 4 to 13 year old boys- female characters sell fine because most adults don't really play with toys they just display them or make dioramas or whatever
@@Chris23513 that’s a good point
Great vid shame I can't see a damm thing
Watch it with your eyes open next time 🤷🏻♂️
@@ToyAttics Yo, e.veryone in the Comments says the same thing and u get butt hurt. Be a man and own ur mistakes instead of insulting ur audience.
When I make a mistake I will own it. I do not trust feedback on my craft from people not in my line work. It’s pretty simple
I wear glasses again maybe just me . And remember people can't sometimes express verbally things correctly so imagine them writing stuff out , don't take all the chats verbatim .
3' toys are great because you can make vehicles that would be less expensive.
But they don’t
If a toy comoany is going ti cut corners id take solid color weapons allday over the company, keeping the quality of the figure. The weapon could always be hand painted.
Yea?
wow first and last video of yours im watching. 3/75 is *NOT* a dead line. people want that cause its far easier to army build AND STORE THEM. vehicles are not (except for a few) massive undertakings that take up a full desk for ONE item. i have THOUSANDS of 3.75 figures packed away in bins. the same bin i store a few hundred 3.75, i can barely fit 1/4 of that for 6" figures. super biased video, poorly lit, off on tangents left and right, nopenopenope. bye
You don’t sound like you make the best decisions anyway…
You used to record for Eternia Dreams TH-cam channel right? Maybe I’m mistaken lol
Yes
To Bobby’s point about rip offs. GI Joe is a straight up rip off of sgt fury and howling commandos and shield. But no GI Joe fan either knows that or will bring that up. 😂
I didn’t know about this
You look like Michael Keaton😂😂❤❤😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks
3.5 is dead says the guy whose company is all in on 6in . Why wouldnt he say that, and i like bobby
That’s probably why he’s all in on 6 inch 🤷🏻♂️
Well that was a lot!
Have you read the *Valaverse Action Force comics? Would love a video of you and Valaverse talking lore expansion.
@@mlseries2553 of course I have. And that’s a great idea for a video
O-ring are back! 6 inch is an annoying scale, too big.
Yea?
Delta 17 would fare better as 1/12 scale figures. Their characters look interesting and would work well with Classified & Action Force, $25 for 3 3/4 is a tough sale for a new IP.
34 min to say “No, these suck.” Lol…. O-Ring is for Oldies lol, I kid. I pumped for what Valaverse & JOE has to offer in 2025!
Great video! Super-nice production, very slick. Smile more, you look too glum.😁
Thanks for watching
Well said.
Video is great!! Keep them coming. I don't mind the lighting as I find it kinda soothing. You do you. Hence TH-cam. For all the others leaving negative comments, Please see the comments section before typing something negative labeled as feedback. If it's meant to be negative ......maybe not leave a comment at all.
Thank you!
Why are people bitching about the lighting? I can see just fine. Apparently people just want shit, bright front lighting. Your videos look great. Don't change a thing.
Haha. Love this comment.
