@@G_man_ No doubt, but even then are you really going to spend that type of money on a first gen Chinese car ? I wouldn't (even with how nice that interior looks) but the XPeng P7 may be a winner if they ever ship it to the US.

I don't understand the fascination with frunks, especially for a larger SUV that has plenty of space in the back. I prefer what VW did with ID.4 with a short hood, no frunk, and apply the length to make the cabin a bit larger instead.
That was my attitude too until we did a 9 hour road trip last spring. We packed so much in the back of our Tesla model S that I could barely see the back window. Then we remembered the frunk, and voila...happy drive.

If a Chinese producer would build a bauhaus style car with low cw and the quality they do here at say 25000 Eur, they could roam the market. @@bjornnyland Let's not forget that labor in China is still a lot cheaper than in Europe. And while some parts of German cars are manufactured in China, most of them are sources more locally by people who get paid a lot more and work shorter work days. That drives up the cost of parts a lot. The exact same car built with the exact same methods (and the same goes for all its parts) will therefore always be more expensive when built in Europe compared to China until the point that China catches up with Europe on wages and work time.
