    In China they have a really big and good head up display in the cars. They also have a bracket behind the steering wheel, with to infra-red eyes that is checking if your eyes are on the road. This system is connected to the auto pilot system, and is supposed to be very good. They also have the backup camera connected to the mirror inside the car. Maybe some of these options comes with the high end model with four seats. But there's an "ocean" of options and colors both inside and out in the Chinese models, compared to the Norwegian ones.

    Also, if you are looking to buy a realy spacious ev in general or an electric van as a family car you don't get that many options, certainly not with this kind of luxury. In fact if any, only the Mercedes EQV comes to mind and it's also around 80k eur (800k nok). The newly introduced VW ID Buzz is nowhere near that well equipped and will also be 70k+ eur, so those big chinese cars might be a real option. Sure there is the question about dealerships, warranty, etc... AND buggy software drives me nuts! :)

    Nice review of a nice car. Ventilated seats = amazing ❤Wish my stupid TMY had that. The narrow, short unventilated seats in TMY are not comfy nor impressive at all.
    A smaller model like this testcar would be nice.
    Also wish TMY had the comfy Hongqi dampers or similar. I never "do something like this" and most people don't, so I really wan't the soft comfortable ride you call a boat. I'm never going to drive my TMY on a track and don't need sporty stiff uncomfortable dampers. Drive 99% on public roads with low speedlimt and a lot of traffic.
    But then again my TMY has farting sounds, lightshow and option to drive on Mars. Those are really important features when you drive, instead of adjustable regen level or adjustable auto-wiperspeed.

  • @n1vca
    @n1vca ปีที่แล้ว

    Even if the design is not my taste, I think this definitely is a luxury car and really reminds me on a Rolls-Royce, which I also find very ugly. Love that it is more quiet than the super expensive EQS.

  • @amrthehammer

    At first I thought it was a cheap Rolls Royce knock-off. But I must say it is growing on me and I love the interior. BUT the software experience is what will make or break an EV and I know too little about the Hongqi E-HS9 but from what little I saw in Bjorns videos the software is somewhat laggy, the English is poor and the battery charging performance (long distance travel) seems poor too. For an EV, looks aren't enough anymore.

      @@dullumullu This Hongqi is definitely taking sales away from Rolls Royce. Chinese luxury cars are now technologically more advanced and getting more prestigious. When you buy this Hongqi or any other hongqi, you are becoming part of the Chinese middle class or elite class, enjoying the same prestigious status of a rising China. But still this Hongqi is not just marketing. It is made with better technology, backed by advance Chinese technology, which is among the best in the world. Spending extra on inferior competition will only show you are misguided.

    • @bjornnyland
      @bjornnyland  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Nope. Why? Becuase there are so many different variants of e-tron:
      - A3 e-tron (plug-in hybrid)
      - e-tron 50
      - e-tron 55
      - e-tron 60
      - e-tron GT
      - Q4 e-tron
      So instead of saying e-tron 50/55/60, it's way easier and shorter to just say "fat e-tron". Now you know.

    It is such a pity that the US market is so closed (and we had an orange idiot who decided to start a trade war with China and chased the ones who were setting up shop here...XPeng, Nio and a few others who had hard offices and engineering teams in my hood). I just left the high end car transport industry (worked primarily with mfg handling photo/ad shoots, car shows etc) and was chasing Xpeng and a number of others. For the EV sphere (where ICE level engineering is not easy to catch up with and gain respect and is no longer even relevant), the Chinese mfgs are hitting on all cylinders. Now that the government has culled the herd to a select list of mfgs, it is likely they will dominate the market (given the more competitive price points). Thanks, as always Bjorn for bringing reviews on these Chinese rides that we will likely never see. Hats off.

I also used to own an e-tron 50 (just sold it) for over a year and I have to say I loved the e-tron and I would still buy that over this. The looks are just not for me. Put in a front bench seat, or leave a gap for easy access to the back seats (better for families with kids, etc.). And fix some of those bugs, like with the turn signals... that would drive me NUTS!

      NIO? better branding? We don't agree with you here in China. They are diff brands for diff people. HQ Prefer to sell to administrative level or super rich and powerful customer. HQ has some special cars you can't ever buy, even you are rich enough to buy a RR easily, it‘s a more stately brand compare to NIO and NIO tends to sold to normal people(everyone) who can afford.
