Hongqi is the official car that Chinese President Xi Jinping sits in every time when he arrives visiting a foreign country. This brand was founded in 1950’s - The first Hongqi car was born in 1958, which was also the first car produced independently in China. It’s one of the most reliable domestic automotive brands in China, it was just not that well known internationally.
In China, driving a Hongqi electric car represents the pinnacle of luxury and innovation. The driver feels an extraordinary sense of modernity, surrounded by cutting-edge technology and automation. This experience is not just unique but also a glimpse into the future of transportation. As we witness such advancements, it becomes clear that electric vehicles like this are setting the trend for sustainable and sophisticated automotive development worldwide. This marks a significant step towards a more efficient and environmentally friendly future.
in the past most of the Chinese considered Mercedes Benz and BMW as luxury but now this is the first time they proud to own their home grown brand as luxury car
Having this machine on the road will undoubtedly garner significant attention due to its incredibly sleek design. People will definitely do a double-take and wonder, What on earth is that?
So proud of the wifey for this care review. I feel like I’m watching carwow, Doug demouro, suprcar blondie or remove before race haha. Good job baba! Now can you please let me borrow this car once In awhile. I don’t get to drive it coz it’s always with you!
I'm driving a BYD Atto3 (Or Yuan Plus in China or some other places). At first many people here also charge it when it reach +/-30% which is not necessary. Now that I charge the car whenever I'm back home or in the warehouse/office. It is find and I have a "full tank" everytime I leave with the car. It is better to charge it will slow charger, don't always charge with ultra fast DC charger
BYD uses only LFP type lithium battery, which is a bit heavier but very durable. You can pretty much charge it whenever you want, and up to 100% each time. But other EVs such as this Hongqi uses higher performance ternary lithium batteries, which they recommend that you take down to 20-30%, then slow charge up to 80% in normal use, in order to maximize battery life.
@@tren133 common misunderstanding of battery life cycle is that how many times you recharge it. If you use 10% then charge to full for 5 times doesn't mean you had used 9 life cycles therefore better to used until 90% then charge it. The key situation that will damage the battery are diacharging it until low SoC eg 30% or40% and below, the battery already have some additional damage when it reached low charged. 2ndly is heat, when someone always charge with fast charging, extreme heat is created and it will damage the battery. Conclusion is that if you always prefer to use the EV until low charge 40% and lower and then charge with fast charger, your battery capability will decrease much faster than someone charge the battery to full with slow charger whenever they can (but don't over charge it)
@@Sean-yv4ekDid you know that BYD has unveiled new technology? A hybrid system that provides a 65-liter fuel tank and an additional 120 kilometers of purely electric drive for 2,500 kilometers without refueling and recharging, for a price of only $15,000!
Very beautiful car!! 😍 Nakakatawa lang yung mga pambabash mga tao dito sa comment section dahil lang "Chinese" car yan. You can clearly see how westernized yung pag iisip nila. They don't even know what kind of brand Hongqi is, nor do they realize how advanced the technology and quality of materials were in that car. 2024 na pero yung pag iisip nila pang 2000's pa 😂
man that car looks amazing...currently driving a model y performance and long range, wish we could get some EV's from china, this Hongqi looks like the perfect size for a luxurious 7 seater like the BMW X7
In fact, there are many countries in Asia that are very suitable for using electric vehicles, such as Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and other countries. The climate in these countries is very suitable for driving electric vehicles because you don't need to worry about extreme cold weather causing a decrease in range. As long as there are enough charging stations, you can easily use electric vehicles. This can reduce a significant amount of exhaust emissions, while allowing more people to enjoy high horsepower and low travel costs. In addition to providing more luxurious interiors than traditional car manufacturers, it also has huge horsepower and acceleration, while saving a lot of usage and travel costs. If you are worried about inconvenient charging, you can also consider hybrid cars, such as the recently released BYD Seal 06 and Qin L. With a 65 liter fuel tank and an 80KM or 120KM battery, it can easily achieve a range of 2100-2500KM, which is the same as the travel cost of electric vehicles, but has several times the range!!! I hope all ASEAN countries can quickly promote electric vehicles and charging stations, and forget about outdated traditional brands!
BYD just dropped a bomb on everybody! Their DM 5 gen hybrid model range is 2000km on a single charge & a full tank of fuel! The consumption is like a mini car & only for the price of $13000!!! It is CRAZY!

Hongqi Motors used to be exclusively for government departments, but in recent years it has begun to produce civilian vehicles, especially electric vehicles, mainly for the civilian market.
You can google "Hongqi L5", which is the million dollar limousine for high ranking Chinese officials, and only available for private sale in limited cases. But Hongqi also sells hundreds of thousands of regular cars every year, in the luxury car segment. The E-HS9 is one of their largest and most expensive models. It is exported to various markets, such as Norway, but also apparently to the Philippines as well.
I’ll also add you don’t have a fast charger at home, you have an AC charger, you car can charge at a maximum speed if 11kWh on an AC charger, if you have the 120kWh battery pack that will take at least 10 hours to charge not 5-6 hours.
