Hey old heads, remember the first time you heard this theme and realized, thanks to the power of the SNES sound chip, video game music was never going to be the same again? This blew my socks off as a kid!

For all of you in the 8-12 age group when you were playing Snes, I love you all. We are part of a brotherhood, an era in video gaming that unites us in the brief moment of time that is of Legend. Never forget that!

The SNES was the first game system I bought with my own money (age 11) from selling extra NES games. I bought the console with Mario World right after it came out and had money left over, so I picked up Actraiser too. Two of the best games ever!

i was 11 when playing this game. sold baseball cards to get enough money to get a SNES. my dad would rent games every now and then on friday nights if we had earned the right. he rented this game. we had never heard of it. our minds were blown!!!! i ended up trading a pair of used Nike Airs to a friend for his Act Raiser so we could finish it. this game was EPIC!

Speaking of Contra 3, it was already a badass game, but the music really set it over the top. I was just thinking about that the other day. That damn 3rd board music, the place with the smoke stacks in the beginning. That music is so damn awesome.

Masterpiece of a game, truly ahead of its time. The soundtrack is amazing, and the mix of platform and real time simulation gameplay works great. It is sad its sequel was so subpar that the series sank into oblivion since then.

I really loved ActRaiser although it's sequel was poorly done. The music behind this game is definitely one I instantly found to be beautiful especially and was the kinda Egyptian themed level with the snakes. Yuzo Koshiro is a master. Actraiser is marvelous but Actraiser II managed to get even better, yeah we miss the drums in the first part but instead, we hear the same epicness of the timpani, more arrangements in the strings and the brass. Tortoise Island is one the saddest pieces I've ever heard!!!

Even not counting for inflation, that's money well spent.

Haven't played Actraiser, and I'm here because of Yuzo Kushiro's tweet saying that he had thought no one would be able to surpass his Actraiser soundtrack in terms of the sound quality on the SNES, but Yasunori Mitsuda did with the Chrono Trigger soundtrack.
As a Chrono fan, I can attest to how fantastic the Actraiser ost sounds.

Something about this song 20:23 captures trekking through this frozen wilderness, now only inhabited by demons, dreams and the faintest of echoes from the past, so well.
How long has it been since this world was last animated, thousands, millions or billions of years?
How many iterations has life, man and civilization here undergone?
An ancient, sleeping and frozen world is about to be unthawed and awoken.
ActRaiser along with the Quintet Trilogy was more than just a game, they really had a story to tell.
My favorite song from the game.

It was the soundtrack, then the gameplay that amazed me. Downloaded renaissance, very different, but let's see how it goes.

All I hear is myself climbing the Northwall tree jumping on green bubbles while avoiding eyes, thrown axes, bees, birds with worms, and such.... But yeah it does make me think much more of Holst than Star Wars, but also makes me realize how Holst may have influenced the most overrated composer of all time (sorry John Williams fans... I understand you're all about it for the whole experience, not just the music, but the hype this dude gets is a bit much for music that works well for its purpose but it's definitely not the most amazing, mind-blowing music of all time like the fans make it seem).

    ゲームの名曲にはアクトレイザー入るなー。宮廷音楽ぽいのがすごくいい。オープニングからフィルモアまで最高。クラシック聴いてるみたいだよ。30:56が好きだなぁ。ずっと聴いてれる。

If you like the composer check out the Sorcerian soundtrack here on TH-cam. 1987 on a PC system exclusive to Japan. It sounds so good. On par, or better than the SNES. (My first console was a PS1 so what do I know)

I can't wait to hear the soundtrack fully orchestrated.

23:32 should apparently be The World Tree; even though "sekaijuu" can mean both that and All Over the World, the track plays while ascending the giant tree in Northwall.

And disney's "It's a small world" is disturbingly similiar to Peaceful World.
And Ending is a like a super-extended version of 20th Century Fox theme.

i remember this game is one of the 1st earliest released game for SuperFamicom (SNES).
Trivia. When The sound composer for Final Fantasy 4/5 (Square) heard this,
he got overwhelmed and decided to change all his musics under development.
Because he knew ,at that point, his musics for FF4 would be far behind to Actraiser (by Enix).
and then, finally FF4 released with good musics (only a bit behind to Actraiser).
