I think this is one of the most beautiful songs written......and performed here with such passion.....every bit as good as the recording, perhaps even better, I believe......such artists who can convey such emotion are rare indeed....Amanda is truly a Canadian treasure.....
One of the things I loved about her was how she was able to go up on stage in a plain brown pantsuit and still look so sexy and so powerful and compelling with her voice and passion. No jumping around half naked like what most other female performers have to do!
I remember reading that in 1996, the top 4 world best selling female singers were: Celine Dion, Shania Twain, Allanys Morissette, and my favorite Amanda Marshall.

Canada has produced some of the best female vocalists, but for whatever reason some of them can't get to that next level of success. I think of Amanda and Luba specifically.
I certainly agree with you there! I also think of Dixie Lee Innes going back a little bit further. She sang for The Original Caste and was the first person to sing the classic folk song One Tin Soldier. She certainly had an amazing voice too!

Yes we will be attending the concert. She is so liked in Germany from her fans. The stats of this youtube site as in which country people are from who are viewing her videos, Germany is on top. It would be great for her fans if she would perform a few shows there someday soon.

In the official video for this song she starts to do this hand gesture when she gets to the climax of the song, but it looks like she's trying to restrain herself, so she holds on to the railing instead. :-) I love this unrestrained version.

Although it's breathtaking to watch her like this, it looks like she could have dislocated her wrist if she had continued with this! :-D I never actually saw her on tour but I remember seeing this vid and others from her first album many times on TV. The first time I saw her, my reaction was, wow! Can't believe it's been, what, 15, 16 years?
@gdmccullough SO WOULD I GD!! This video clip was a bit harder to find. I just stumbled upon it by chance. I was in contact with Sony Music Canada yesterday for earlier concert recording and they were very receptive and said they would look into it for me. Whether they were just saying it to blow me off or not we will see.

Amanda Marshall has a stunningly beautiful voice and should be a superstar worldwide.
