Thanks for this video Jeff. I am in the process of starting up my PT business, Hornbeck Health and Wellness. It’s going to be mobile and in my home which I’ve converted into a personal training studio, complete with a workout room, outdoor fitness trail, assessment/interview room and office. I am hoping move the business to a separate location when the time is right. Love all of your videos…they are answering a lot of the questions I have rattling around in my head. And yes, I do believe that I can change the world by helping people get healthy and feeling good about theirselves again! My mission is “Worldwide wellness, one person at a time” Thanks again…keep in touch!
You are such an inspiration to me, as a young kid that just got NASM certified, your videos have been the most amazing guide to to the field i have ever witnessed. I’ve watched every informational video you both have posted and all i can say is thank you for all the hard work and dedication you both put into these videos. I just started at my local gym as a trainer and with your videos, i feel so much more relaxed and confident about the industry. Thank you so much again!
Really appreciate your video's Jeff. I'm just starting into this CPT business starting with classes for a NASM cert. My road or path sounds similar to yours. First, I benefited from PT to resolve physical issues from a near death accident. The benefits kept me away from taking meds as an alternative which I really appreciated. I was fortunate to find a PT that loved what he did and provided outstanding personal exercises. Then I got into backpacking and wanted more from my body, so I began looking into various exercises. I'm currently a self employed real estate appraiser and make a living. However, I don't find I'm watching videos or reading on a regular basis about that profession. However, I do find that over the last several years most my effort, curiosity and interests have been in physical fitness, nutrition and health sciences with a focus on our body's natural abilities to heal and strengthen itself. I'm consistently learning about new trends, sciences, strength, mobility, yoga, etc. to understand better how our body was naturally built and the best way to achieve natural strength to overcome many of societal trends that detriment or degrade that natural ability. Appraising is slow now as it fluctuates with interest rates and the last recession, I was out of work for 2 years. So I believe my timing to switch careers might be right on. I like that your videos provide info on the pros and cons so that I have a realistic view on expectations. Thank you again and looking forward to learning more.
Thanks for the kind words and support! It sounds like you’d be someone who would do really well doing some training as a part time job. It seems like you already have some income coming from your other job, but the passion for health and fitness is clearly there. I would definitely consider doing some training on the side to see if you like it! I don’t know that fully quitting your other job to move right into training makes sense, even if that other job is slow right now, but only you will know what makes the most sense!
I think that the marketing piece is especially important for fitness entrepreneurs. It’s super essential for the website to be tidy and eye-catching, and the booking process to be simple and streamlined, amongst other things with building an online presence
I really like your content and find your videos very informative. I dream of building my own personal training studio when I get to migrate to the US in the future.
Thanks I really appreciate that! Keep working hard and pushing forward! Getting to the point where you’re running your own studio takes some time and hard work but it’s very doable!
Hey Jeff! Do you have a video going through the exact initial costs of starting a full-on studio? I understand it can be a hefty sum, but what are the realistic numbers to expect. Thanks!
I’ve never really gone into the exact amount that it would take to start a studio because it fluctuates so wildly based on a number of factors. I do talk a bit about overhead for my studio in this video talking about my income though: th-cam.com/video/FsgIUAnG1C8/w-d-xo.html
This Chanel is soo good. I’m about to launch my personal trainer studio. I have 3 studios to use, however I can’t use them all at once obviously, so I’m thinking of renting the other two studios out to other personal trainers under my company name. Will charge them 20$ an hour for the studio use. You think this is a good idea ? Pls get back to me would appreciate it.
Thank you! I really appreciate that! Are you located in the United States? If so, then those other trainers wouldn’t technically work for you. They would be independent contractors if they’re renting space from you. This could still work but you’d have to be careful of certain things. You wouldn’t really be able to tell them how to train clients and they would technically be able to steal clients without problem. This all being said, this can still be a good option if you have the right space and the right people renting from you.
You make some good points. I’d love you have a chat with you on zoom if that is possible. Just for some tips, I’d be happy to pay. Pls let me know. All your videos are helping me loads. Thank you

Ya I’ve expanded a few times already! I’ll probably expand more in the future!
