      Alex Trihawk is he transphobic or something? I’m assuming that’s why, but I also don’t want to just assume. I’ve just never heard this before.
      Was Genesis a bit of a narcissist? Sure, but I think that comes with a lot of artists I’ve known, and it particularly seems to come with the famous/revered ones... at least their art was actually worth the reverence, though! RIP♾

    The fact that both Katie Stelmanis and Genesis P-Orridge both dismiss Action Bronson for two very different, but equally valid reasons, makes me most happy. RIP Gen!

      Dana Copp I recommend Throbbing Gristle's 20 Jazz Funk Greats, Psychic TV's Allegory and Self and Towards the Infinite Beat, and Thee Majesty's Thee Fractured Garden as an introductory quartet, although my personal favourites are TG's late '70s live sets and PTV's first two albums and various experimental soundtrack/ritual/collage works.

    The Los Angeles segment should have been underscored with Chris And Cosey's 'Put Yourself In Los Angeles' tune underneath. And for Gen rattling on about circumcision - ain't that the pot calling the kettle 'cock' right there? LOL

    I laughed at them reaction to EDM. Genesis actually played an important part in the early rave scene (UK). It was EDM I guess.. I mean what isn't?

    • @omaraftab7131
      @omaraftab7131 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Music made without electronic instruments, or music which isn't made to dance to. Most music isn't EDM, dude. I'm pretty sure you know this, too, so…?

    • @Neurozumim
      @Neurozumim 7 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      My point was that EDM isn't a term that makes much historical sense. It's a recent term that Millenials have been using to pigeonhole in one bag any synth or electronic music that comes with a beat. It's not culturally interesting to talk about EDM as semantically it implies retroactively flashlighting a term on a long part of music history when such a term never existed. Also, synth dance as an extrapolation of synth pop and italo disco was a term used at the beginning of the 1980's (when the term dance music gradually replaced the term disco for a short while in some places), but using an all-encompassing nomenclature like EDM only obfuscate history and the often blurry context of when such terms as dance or electronic were actually used (indeed a whole lot of music include both electronic and non-electronic instrumentions, especially in the early days of club-intended "dance" music).

      Nerozumim oh, well shit. I didn't know all of that man, thanks. It's been the only term used for this type of thing for as long as I remember and I'm not really big on EDM so I didn't know anything about it, so honestly thanks for telling me about this. It's nice to see people educating others on TH-cam rather than constantly beefing.
