What a great product! I have 600 hours on my Carbon Cub with no Issues! Great starts and fuel burn at cruse. I love the looks I get when A&Ps ask me about the timing procedure! I would like to see a You Tube video on inspection, shaft play etc. My apologies if there is one and missed it! Actually, I will call them tomorrow morning 11/25 /24 and ask! Highly recommended. Been flying Alaska for 50 years. Wish I could put them on my certificated aircraft.......maybe someday!
This is good stuff. Refreshing to see. Best to you guys. This will be a long term game changer for aviation in the certified world. Awesome stuff, I am seriously thinking of writing the check for one!!
Impressed so far because this Lyc 4 cyl design is a simpler installation with light weight and a decent range of timing that isn't sucking amps in cruise.
This would be a really nice upgrade for my Cardinal. The current Electronic Dual Mag replacement requires a seperate battery back-up. This would eliminate that.
I haven’t been able to get an estimate yet. The FAA process has been a slow one… it could perhaps be later this summer, but I really don’t have nothing to go on other than they’re getting closer.
Great question, you’ll just need a battery for starting. After 500 rpms, I believe it’s self powers then. I’ll ask Brad if you’d like? I can see what people are doing that don’t have a electrical system.
Yes. E-Mag shows about 70% benefit with just one installed. I’m actually installing just one, replacing the impulse coupling for my next engine to start with.
Brad is a gentleman, helpful, knowledgeable, and willing to assist - Even us long range aviators in South Africa! I cant wait for my unit to arrive!
Agreed. I’ll be installing mine next month 👍
I totally agree. Brad is a wealth of knowledge and very willing to share that knowledge. Much appreciated.

@@beverlystocker5359 good to know! I have two now to run on my PA-16 clipper, which is in the experimental exhibition category.

I’m planning to start out with replacing my left mag during the new engine build. Brad is a great guy to work with too.
Awesome stuff!! Keep up the good work!
Thanks! I’ll be installing one of these on my PA-16 Clipper in the next couple months. O-320 with several other upgrades.
Really considering adding one on the Clipper during the engine upgrade… thoughts?

@@MarkShinnick I’ll be running 2 of them on my O-320-B2A this spring.
@Blaircraft.Engines Cool. I suggest setting the non-starting one maybe 5 degrees more advanced than the starting one.
Interesting!!🛫 🌟

Yes. The ability to self power after start takes it next level for electronic ignition in my option. Like Brad said it’s the best of both worlds.
@@Blaircraft.Engines unfortunately it's taking a long time to get through the certification process.
I'm really looking forward to the dual mag for my Cardinal RG! Any time horizon on that?

would 'coil on plug' ignition be a step forward?
@@BlueMax333 Don't see why ..and spacing clearance and heat are important.
So what if you have no electrical system?

Will the performance and economy improve with one Magneto and one E-Mag?
Yes. E-Mag shows about 70% benefit with just one installed. I’m actually installing just one, replacing the impulse coupling for my next engine to start with.
How long does the backup power last?
As long as you have 800 rpm, it will continue providing needed power.
I need a dual mag for my Vans. Ex- Money, I mean Mooney engine.
It would be a great choice. I believe they’re available now.
