    Great explanation Vic! One extra question: when wiring the p-leads, what gauge single shielded wire is typically used?

    • @baselegaviation1614
      @baselegaviation1614  ปีที่แล้ว

      Use at least 20 AWG shielded Tefzel wire. Some people use 22 AWG, but I find it breaks more easily in the higher vibration environment of the engine compartment.

    Great work, be sure to update your title so it's more descriptive.

    Vic, what does the inside of an ignition switch look like ? I’m intrigued as to how the switch mechanism links up the various terminals within the switch . Have you anything that may help? Thks!

    Do you remove the jumper from the ignition switch if you swap the NON-impulse coupled mag out for a P-mag? Ie: I have a standard mag with impulse coupler on Left, and installing a P-Mag on Right.

      Disregard - I’ve found in the e-Mag instructions that you DO need to remove the jumper in the ignition switch.

    My RV-10 IO 540 came from Vans with two non impulse magnetos fitted. I assume this will be ok? Haven’t run it yet.

      you need to make sure you use a Slickstart with one of them. I think it is detailed in the plans. or you could add one electronic ignition system in place of one of the mags. it likely will not start with just 2 non-impulse mags without the Slickstart.

      @@baselegaviation1614 Thanks Vic, I’ll look into that.

    Do Bendix / TCM mags need to be pinned? Or do you simply match the red marks with the black one inside the sight hole?
