    I know I'm 4 years late but I think the "dented" tail bit looks pretty good to me. I know it isn't what you were going for but it really looks like a breakdown lorry that's been working for a while. The "dents" make it look like it's been through the mill.

    Lovely restoration again Martin, thanks for the warning on the caustic soda, for some reason it never seems to get fresh paint off very easily when you need to redo the model, but I never would have thought it would have damaged the casting like that. If it’s any consolation, when I put the Jag from my last video back in, the pillars I repaired fell out again and only about 60% of the paint came off, 4 times I’ve done that blasted thing now, the last time I just rubbed it down to the metal with very fine wet and dry, thank goodness that at last my paint job has worked out ok on it, so I don’t need to do it any more lol!
    I do like those commer cabs I think they look the part and your paint job suits it well,
    congratulations on a good job well done 👌👍😊
    Any joy on a memory stick with the box templates on? Not every box is on the one I got and the pictures are not all perfect but on the whole they a pretty good, I just ordered some slightly thicker card at 300gsm on Amazon, to see how it does.
    All the best, Nick

    • @martindaredare
      @martindaredare  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers nick ,you are right about the fresh paint ,in hindsight I should have done it once and finished of with the wire wheel, but it had so many edges and small hard to get to places.
      I already have the discs with the boxes on but it appears you have to resize them and to be honest iam not very computer minded and iam struggling with it , so I thought your one might be a better prospect.
      All the best martin.

    Every day is a school day in this caper - I have been going about 18 months and am still learning. The ripply side panels on the truck bed have a certain realism about them... did you try a bit of wire wool after the assembly to give a patinated look? I never saw a pristine breakdown truck in my life!
