Martin, once again you have nail this car down right, the cleaning up of parts,& the paint job on the vehicle as well as the detailing was to perfection.I always enjoy your restorations, take care my friend see you on the next restoration project .👋😎🚙🚚🚒🛻
Perfect timing again Martin. I am just about to start one of these! Evapo Rust is just what I have been looking for too. Beautiful restoration, as expected now! Thank you.
Another great resto Martin, When removing rust from the baseplate, I use Malt Vinegar and leave it to soak overnight, it works well, but does smell for a wee while afterwards :O)
Another fantastic job, Martin, it's nice to see the older cars brought back to life, we wait see what your next restoration, all the best to you and your family.
Out of town so missed this when it was posted, but what a sweet little car that is, and a great condition casting for its age. 3 experiments, in fact: the UV, the Evaporust and surviving a tongue-lashing for using the Mrs' toothbrush to clean the chassis! Good job, Sir! The final result on the Alfa is just lovely, Martin: better than new
That is a superb restoration, Martin. Really top hole. I like using Evaporust, but a word of warning. I had a dinky base that was really rusty. I left it in Evaporust overnight and when I pulled it out, it looked like a piece of Swiss cheese. I had to use 2-part epoxy to give it some strength again. Those flimsy interiors can be strengthened with some super-duper and a layer of loo roll to back it up. Cheers, Gerry.
Hi, Martin. The Alfa Romeo is a timeless classic and you helped this one to live again. Congratulations on two successful experiments in this video. I've also put yellowed pieces in the hydrogen peroxide and left them out in the sun for a day or two (natural UV) which worked for me. You've got another lovely car for your collection now. Greetings from the Alsace wine region in France this week. 🍁🍷
Again a wonderful restoration. I've seen other guys use the hydrogen peroxide and UV light to restore yellowed plastics to white. One guy uses a big container and strips of UN LEDs and leaves it over night, (sometimes longer) does a great job.. Keep up the good work, but remember to have time for yourself and family. Take care
You knocked it out of the park! You crushed it! (American baseball terms...Ha, Ha!) I have used Evapo-Rust on a real full-size car restoration but not a toy car. Never seen the UV Light demonstrated before. Thanks for sharing.
Top job Martin, with life we are always learning and finding new techniques. I’ve seen evaporust on other channels. All the best to you my friend. Cheers Chris 👍🏼👌🏽🇦🇺
Really cool toy friend! The UV lamp cleaning is a cool process (I need to check that out). Nice you can recycle rust remover. Awesome restoration as always! 😎👍
looks great, love the glowing red, it fits the casting and the era well. :) that derustifier works great! could have used that as a kid, when some axles on that flea market find were corroded thin as needles... XD
Looks stunning now Martin! Great work as always. Interesting to see use of the UV lamp, and the rust removal. This is a great casting, reminds me so much of my dad's old Alfa Romeo which was a very similar shape. Looking at google images of the real car, it's a different one, probably an earlier version. Dad's car was a 1963 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint. The Dinky model is so similar, I think I need to get one for my collection.
Lovely job mate nice gloss on the paint and you wouldn't know about the interior if you hadn't said anything perfect. The indicators look good with the silver underneath and the Tamia clear orange on top. The paint looks slightly orange on my lap top and slightly darker red on the projector on the wall either way it looks great. A bloke across the road has a modern Alfa and it still has that small oval in the middle of the grill. He likes his European cars he has a merch witch I think is his car the Alfa is his wife's and his daughter has a little powder blue Fiat bambino. Catch you on the next one mate.👍🏻
Thanks Geoff glad you enjoyed this one ,the clear colours work well over the silver . Sounds like a nice collection of cars your neighbour has . All the best Martin
Yet another fantastic restoration Martin, honestly your work is superb. I caught a glimpse of the forklift on the old magic roundabout, can I ask you please, when you do that video, mention as many hints and tips etc as you restore it because I have a forklift to do (when I find some decals) and I can follow your video , step by step. (I'm still only a novice and still learning) Thanks for sharing another wonderful restoration video with us, take care and very best wishes to you and your good lady. I hope she's fully recovered now. All the best. Peter.
Hi Peter, the wait is over ,that is wensdays video unfortunately I, started filming before this comment. I hope I have explained it enough for you .all the best Martin
Another great restoration Martin. I reckon it's long term heat from being near a radiator that damages the vac formed interiors the same as tyres flat spotting? The UV light certainly sorted it out though, I'm surprised you didn't do your fingernails at the same time!? 😂As usual, your detail painting is exceptional.
Great experiment and thanks for passing the knowledge to the rest of the die cast community. Wonderful job
Cheers Andy 🍻
