As a person who suffers from severe depression & struggles with thoughts of suicide… this song always hit home for me. I can’t get through this song with out tearing up. I know this song word for word… and I feel it to my core. RIP Biggie ✌🏾

If you listen to the entire Ready to die album the 1st track he is born and the album takes you on a journey up until he kills himself. His next album life after death was the continuation of this album. This is why it will always be in my top 5.

Biggie did an excellent job expressing the mindset of a clinically depressed, suicidal person. One of my favorite tracks on that first album. Most MC's weren't doing anything that could be even remotely considered as showing any kind of vulnerability..(except for Pac and later DMX) This was a powerful piece by BIG imo
But suicide can most definitely seem like a rational choice compared to having to deal with living in A Capitalistic World every single day 24 / 7, 365 days a year, I am 35 years old by the way, American Aborigine male.
