Depression is real. This song is very powerful, and i believe everyone should listen to it. I just turned 29, and i have a benzo addiction to deal with my depressions and anxieties. My advice for anyone feeling suicidal is please try to find what makes you happy in life. Easier said than done, but i promise you if there is a will there is a way. Honestly, it’s Puff’s adlibs that make the whole thing for me. I’ve never dealt with someone actively ready to commit suicide, but I have had to talk to people who were considering it; the whole scenario that this song paints is a fucking nightmare to me, out of nowhere, middle of the night, the active threat of death to someone that I love dearly- it’s horrific. The growing anxiety, stress and concern in Puff’s voice, Puff getting into his car to head over to Biggie ‘ayo, I’m on my way over there’, his pleas ‘talk to me, please’. Anxiety mounts to terror when Biggie pulls the trigger, and that’s the worst part about the whole scenario- realistically, all you have to save someone in that position is your words. Unless you live right next to them, you probably won’t be able to reach them in time. All of these adlibs make this shit so much heavier to me.

The way his thoughts spiral down into more and more grim reasons to do it, he's justifying his own death with less and less credible lyrics that shine light into his insecurities.(Mostly guilt)

I wish Biggie was still alive so i could tell him how much this song means to me... It's really comforting to have a song that perfectly captures how so many people including myself sometimes think. Biggie understood the struggle of the mind, and that's more comforting sometimes then people telling you they love you.
This song is one fo the very few songs I can relate and cry to. My father is abusive, and I grew up poor in a place that doesent even like me. I have been stabbed at 13 by peole I trusted, destroyed until the point where I felt less like a man, and humiliated. All these things have caused me to get anxiety and no matter what I do and where I am I cant escape my horrible reality, even in my dreams. I would pray to god,but he wouldn't answer. I just want to end it all. I just want to go back to not existing. Thank you biggie for giving me a song I could lean on

I really respect for biggie for making and releasing this song. Listening to it now and soaking it in, this is really the darkest and scariest rap song I can think of. He made the best “horrorcore” song ever to come out at that point without even meaning to. The horrorcore I know is not really scary because you know it’s fantasy, this feels like a real glimpse into the headspace of an actively suicidal person, and he must’ve really felt all this shit at some point it feels too real

That’s exactly what I was thinking. You don’t just make this shit up. I remember feeling that way in my mid 20’s, no place to go. Thank god I found my wife and was blessed with a couple of kids or who knows what I would have done.
