I legitimately did miss him after he quit, and he was legit one of the funniest dudes I ever knew... made work awesome - I quit not long after he left honestly. One thing I really love about this song is that the guy on the phone is doing everything right. He stays on the phone, keeps Biggie talking, asks him if he has someone over there, and heads over to Big's place, even says he'll call him back when he's in the car - and all of this despite the fact that he's very clearly tired, unprepared, and overwhelmed. There are hundreds of songs that make me sad but this one. This one makes me feel like I'm really losing everything and beginning to rot and lose myself as a human being. I have experienced His saving grace many times. And not only can He save, but He can restore any situation, He can fix any problem, He can take away your shame and disgrace. I really respect for biggie for making and releasing this song. Listening to it now and soaking it in, this is really the darkest and scariest rap song I can think of. I have BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder) and I relate to this song on a level that's unreal. When people hear that I have BPD, they're scared of me. They don't understand me. But if they only knew how many songs, paintings, drawings, etcetera, et-fucking-cetera that encompass this fucking experience that they love too, like this song, for example, that they feel describes them, that they dance to, that they make love to, that they say built their lives like many of us say about the music we love, maybe, just maybe they'd realize we're the same.

I really respect for biggie for making and releasing this song. Listening to it now and soaking it in, this is really the darkest and scariest rap song I can think of. He made the best “horrorcore” song ever to come out at that point without even meaning to. The horrorcore I know is not really scary because you know it’s fantasy, this feels like a real glimpse into the headspace of an actively suicidal person, and he must’ve really felt all this shit at some point it feels too real

I love the rappers of old. The context of the time, the fight for rhymes and vocabulary. The politics and ethics of life on the streets. The reputation that you had to gain through hard work. The beats and the real raw essence of personalities.
I remember hearing this song as a kid and how it always stuck with me. I'm really struggling and this song is my only comfort. It sucks when you're alone and have no one to turn to. The emptiness is starting to eat away at me. But at least someone in this world can understand how I feel.

I have BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder) and I relate to this song on a level that's unreal. When people hear that I have BPD, they're scared of me. They don't understand me. But if they only knew how many songs, paintings, drawings, etcetera, et-fucking-cetera that encompass this fucking experience that they love too, like this song, for example, that they feel describes them, that they dance to, that they make love to, that they say built their lives like many of us say about the music we love, maybe, just maybe they'd realize we're the same.
