I love this score. My dad was a US Foreign Service officer and I grew up in Arab countries. We were in Jordan when LAWRENCE OF ARABIA was filmed there, but we never made it to Wadi Rum, the desert wilderness where so many scenes were filmed! When I saw the movie, though, one thing I recognized immediately in the score was the Middle Eastern influence. It makes me homesick to hear it!
My late father owned 1 movie that ornamented the living room shelf: Lawrence of Arabia. As a kid, I would look at the cassette case and nothing more. I was never enticed to play the film, it didn't interest me. Fast forward, pursuing legal studies in entertainment to become a producer because when I finally did watch the film a few years ago, it captivated me. The viewing of that single film allowed me to understand the at that film is. As much as I love Ridley Scott, Kubrick, and Nolan, it was this movie alone that made it click. I smile at the thought that this movie was in my hands all along. To be fair, I would never have appreciated its nuances until later in life, so my first viewing was at the right time. To see this film in 70mm in theaters would be a sight to behold. I will not miss the next screening, however long I have to wait.
Spettacolare e celeberrima colonna sonora del film "Lawrence of Arabia" - Gigantesco l'attore principale Peter O'Toole. Like a chi l'ascolterà nel 2020 e anni successivi.
The orchestration has been tampered with. Added parts for the tymps, for example. I would suspect that this from one of Chris Palmer's "touch-ups", which Maurice [whilst he was still alive] told me he did not approve of.
That was part of the restoration of the film which Mr. Spielberg has indicated was his major guiding force growing up. Wish he would add more music and slow down his pace. I tweeted Steven asking him to film on the covid-19 virus when/if he can film again about the virus and the search. He may. I advised him to do it in the style of Duel, not Jaws.
The best film ever made. The soundtrack is phenomenal especially in the desert scenes.

I have been to Wadi Rum several times, absolutely paradise
Btw, the new Dune was shot in Wadi Rum!
You guys are lucky!
Maurice Jarre was a great French composer and conductor who made with the great director David Lean a fantastic team together !
Encore un français qui écrit en anglais! pfffff....
モーリス・ジャールの映画音楽は流麗で威厳があってとても好き。
Imagine having the gift to create something such as this.
All aspects considered, I believe this to be the best film ever made.

Yah, right, this Dennis Tedder says bullshit.
I also never liked his additions, it makes the score lose some of its power
I agree. Chris Palmer's 'contribution' was mostly unfortunate.
Best picture I have saw
Es ist immer wieder erstaunlich 🎼 was ein Orchester leistet. 🎼
Dieses Lied erinnert mich immer an meinen Urlaub in Ägypten. Super 🎼

wonder why ROZA was not taken on this project whose music identified so much with region.
On this years Rozsa doesn't compose music (1962). The two years before he writes Ben-Hur and King of kings.
Dr.Rózsa was composing mostly classical music at the time of 'Lawrence of Arabia'.
Nossa que lindo maravilhosos
MAJESTUOSA OBRA,,,,,,,,,,
to je ve smečkách?
too bad this is 240p
Neuter all modern music and you'd have half the balls we see here.
Lindíssima essa música
Et mettre le nom du compositeur ça vous fatigue le poignet peut-être? ! ...ça serait la moindre des choses NON? MAURICE JARRE !!!
