I don’t normally watch car related videos but I have a new 3008 hybrid on order and so I was keen to watch your review. I must say I really enjoyed not only the content but your presenting style and candid opinion. I currently have a 3008 and love it so I imagine the new one (due in a couple of weeks) will not disappoint.
Great review, seen a few from a few other TH-camrs, but your review was by far the best, and most thorough. So much so, that I have both just ordered one this morning, (approx 4 weeks till delivery) and subbed to your channel. Keep up the amazing content 👍
I enjoyed your review of the E3008 I have ordered mine 2 weeks ago through Motability they have a great deal I’m looking forward to getting it delivered.
@@simon2468dale I was told I would have to wait until December because of the backlog but got an email last week saying it will be ready to pick up the end of September 🤞.
Great video, love your enthusiasm for the speed testing ! Can I ask, am thinking of perhaps getting one but the hybrid version and the roads near me are crazy bumpy ! How was it over bumpy roads ? And I guess it will be better than that with slightly smaller 19 inch wheels that the hybrid comes with ?
Thanks for watching! Obviously i was being precautious as it wasnt my car BUT i test drove this mainly on the old bumpy backroads of Lincolnshire and it was great! As you say, the larger wheels would make a difference, i think you will be fine! The ONLY bump i recall that was nasty was over a humped railway line and i approached it too quickly in hindsight!
Nice review I ordered mine through motability as they had good deals on it. I'm pretty sure thats the motor under the bonnet batteries are in chassis under seats. I also like the way the doors covered the seals keeping the seals clean no more dirty legs in the winter.
Yes the batteries are in the cab but I wasn't going to start ripping it up to show you 🤣 (although that would be fun!) - the motor bit proves a point that it's EV - that's all 😁 I think Motability scheme is a good way of getting one. I think the door seal design did lead to increased road noise overall. I hope you enjoy yours 😁 thanks for watching
I have a black gt on order I've seen lots of reviews and yours is probably best one so far i do have a question this will be my first car do you think the size of the car will be OK to drive i have the 360°camera pack also. And again your a fantastic reviewer
Thanks for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the review and I really hope you enjoy your car when it arrives. I think like everything you will get used to it. The 360 pack really really helped 😊👍
Good review. That cost almost as much as my first house did in 1997. Wonder what demographic Peugeot are aiming this at? The exterior bulk highlights a problem that's common to most new cars - the SUV/crossover shape is inherently an inefficient shape for interior packaging and it's like an inverse TARDIS effect; big on the outside, smaller on the inside. I dislike this trend of ever heavier cars and EV's certainly aren't helping. When cars start weighing more than some mid-sized panel vans or old school 4x4's that's not progress.
And THAT's just one reason why I do NOT like the "styling" (sic) of Pug's 2008. Why? The entire front end looks too big....out of proportion for the body which exacerbates the tiny windows😏 Merde🤢
Well done Jon a great video and a very good review of the 3008 I have seen one recently in the blue metallic as I have a Peugeot 308 now They look really nice cars and very typical of the current Peugeot design language sadly a bit beyond me price wise. I have driven the e208 and e2008 which I really enjoyed driving and agree with what you say about the ev driving experience For me the small steering wheel and I cockpit is fine but I am shorter only 5’11’’ and was weird to start with but I am used to it now the idea is to look down over the small wheel to the dials and it takes a few times to get things right As Victoria has a 208 it is easy for us to transfer between cars but my brothers who are your height have had similar issues All in all a great car and a brilliant review wonder what your dad thinks! All the best to you all Daniel
@JonCoupland the previous generation was also a bit cramped in the back. I think the results of market research with families as the target market resulted in a bigger boot at the expense of rear leg room. Kids don't need as much space.
@@JonCoupland Sorry I didn't mean to come across as rude. I only know because we are picking our one up next Monday. I personally think its a great looking car.
Thanks Jon. Was curious to see how you got on with the i-cockpit steering wheel. Am a few inches shorter and think that would obscure even more of the display, which i wouldn't be keen on. I guess that also applies to the non electric version as well. Interesting to see if the forthcoming Vauxhall version is a lot better from that aspect. Cheers.
There are no difficulties with the i-cockpit and steering wheel. There is plenty of adjustment for both the steering wheel and seat, irrespective of your height.
@@allanbriggs9007 Thanks for the reply Allan. I guess the real world test is to find a Peugeot I might buy with an i-cockpit set-up (possibly the current 2008) and give it a try.
@@Nick_of_Windsor When I went to buy a 2022 3008 I read some of the negative press about the i-cockpit. I am 6ft tall and my wife is 5ft 2" - The salesman was approx 5ft 6". I messed up the seating configuration and got each of us to find a comfortable position where you could also see the instrument panel. None of us took more than a minute. The trick was to make sure you were adjusting both the steering wheel and the seat at the same time. When I asked what all the fuss was about he said two words - THE DRIVER. He said he was astounded how many drivers did not know how to properly adjust the seating position. BTW the small steering wheel is a delight to use - light yet reasonably precise. The wife loves it, especially around town.
Hi there 👍👋 Peugeot approached me and offered me the car to review - you would have to speak to your local dealership and see what they can offer you - they have told me a 48h test drive is available
While I’m not blind to their faults despite owning an EV, if it has typical French depreciation you won’t get a cheaper nearly new 300 mile EV wouldn’t have thought. Then with a £40k budget for example it’s then down to personal taste.
Its ridiculous that you cant sit in the back, unless you are a dwarf or a child, yet its a big looking car. Like a Tardis in reverse. I'd rather buy a Dacia Jogger which is a Tardis seating 4 adults & 3 children with enough room for your knees.
Meh, who cares about the back seats unless you have grown up kids. Give me a 911 any day lol. However who in their right mind would rather have a Dacia Jogger over a Pug 3008??😂
It's great looking from all angles and Range Rovers aside it's by far the best looking SUV on the roads. Practically all the others look ugly from at least one angle.
Thanks for watching - i hope you found this video enjoyable - if so, please hit the like button to tell others they might like it too :)

If you want a little more room in the back, they have just unveiled the 7 seat E 5008.

i have to disagree - there were no sensible combinations of steering wheel to seat position which meant i could see the icockpit in its entirety sadly
Hi Jon how did you get a 48 hour test drive did you have to put a big deposit down that you get back once you give the car back
Hi there 👍👋 Peugeot approached me and offered me the car to review - you would have to speak to your local dealership and see what they can offer you - they have told me a 48h test drive is available
Why not buy a petrol engine with vvt and not loose 70 miles with the air con on?
It's an option eh. Sadly I was given the EV to test 😁🤦♂️
There is a company that makes mattresses tailored to the back of your car so that you can go camping in the boot of your car.
Thats brill!
While I’m not blind to their faults despite owning an EV, if it has typical French depreciation you won’t get a cheaper nearly new 300 mile EV wouldn’t have thought. Then with a £40k budget for example it’s then down to personal taste.
Absolutely
These heavy electric cars are going to destroy UK Roads. They’re just not built for them.
They certainly are very heavy!
Plus, wear and tear on the tyres will be heavier than a petrol car
If you think this is heavy check out the Peugeot E -5008😂
But HGV’s average 44 tons which is equivalent to 22 e3008’s !
You’ll find there’s way heavier cars than this driving around…
20" wheels/tyres is a hard no. 16" are bad enough.
They are massive eh
If you press the SOS button does it play ABBA? 😂
Maybe!
IF it did, then THAT would be an instant no buy🤢

All the seat position and leg space measurement fragment is absurd. You should be taller than Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to be seated like that
👍
That car is not for me.
Now ive sat an thought about it and let it sink in - me either BUT it was nice to drive and certainly will be a contender in the EV market this year
I still can't get over how hideous that car is from the front.
That grill honestly would be an absolute nightmare to clean
Also noticed the actual boot opening is pretty narrow but saying that I drive a larger Estate car so everything will look small in comparison 😂
As cars get older could you find out how much a 12v battery costs for this car, or say an air con unit?
@@JonCoupland Yep the grill is a pain to clean but that's a minor detail.
