From January 2018 until March of 2020, Emory and Kim traveled the world aboard their beloved Jeanneau 53, Someday. We hope you enjoy hearing their story of adventure an a dream come true.

What a lovely couple & My favourite boat , We were about to do the same BUT the wife had a hip op that went bad , After living on Yachts from 30 to 72 feet , Chartering , Cruising we had settled on a 2008 J53 DS , I got to admit the arft cabin sold it for me & the electric sheet winches -Nice post thanks ( Oh the wifes 3rd. operation has now gone bad ) Cant sue them down here in NZ ? Fair winds .

You are living the dream. I am a tax attorney and I am not living the dream.
The boat looks very nice however the 3 year world wide coverage is misleading. I bought 410 and within 6 months had problem with the engine. I wrote emails after emails to Jeanneau and did not receive any response. The dealer just stated that my expectations were too high it usually takes many days to fix a problem like this. That is world wide coverage.
Sorry for your experience! Try leveraging the Jeanneau Owners network, which is also in Facebook. We never had an issue.
I'm curious, why only 6 weeks in South Africa? That seems very rushed, considering the wait for a suitable weather window....
We wanted to enjoy our planned stops and yet also stay in front of hurricanes. Our goal was to get up into the Chesapeake before June 1, hurricane season. We had great weather leaving South Africa and loved our time there.
How much does something like this cost?
A lot depends on where you go, time in marinas vs at anchor, etc. $1 per mile is a rough estimate.

About a dollar a mile
A beautiful boat ... But I can already see the "real" and bearded sea wolves saying that this is not a real bluewater boat and therefore not suitable for overseas crossings ... ;)
Well... clearly not the case If like Emory and Kim you plan well and pick your weather!
