    It’s funny how many of the wrestlers and backstage figures worth damn said no thanks to being on the Vince documentary but the russos, Meltzers and Alvarez’s of the wrestling world jumped at it quick as possible

    • @Matt-cr4vv
      @Matt-cr4vv ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I don’t find that too shocking. I think a lot of the wrestlers would pass because they have respect and gratitude to Vince despite everything. And even if Vince isn’t in power you can’t think Stephanie or HHH are gonna be happy with people dragging Vince for this.
      So to me the idea that people who have relationships with him and/or something to gain by not talking bad on him declining isn’t that shocking. Whereas people like Russo, the dirt sheets and a Bruce Hart have already destroyed any of those chances for themselves. So realistically those people had nothing to really lose by being on the episode whereas those that declined do have something to lose. To me that isn’t really that shocking to occur. But people should also accept that there will never be a documentary that people want. Nobody except people with grudges are going to reflect on any scandals for it. Any others who do participate are going to largely say nice things. And the company isn’t gonna make him look bad either. Any documentary we get will be grudge wrestlers or a puff piece. It’s the unfortunate reality.

And we know how those DSOR guys hate Vince anyway, so we knew it wasn't going to tell the real, plus Vince is the only one who can tell the truth about anything and he doesn't want to. But folks that hate VKM will love it.

    You just know that some people watch Cornette's vids regarding McMahon in the hope that one of these days, he'll cut a promo on Vince and absolutely grill him the way that he does to a lot of other individuals he has had negative experiences with. Unfortunately for those people, Cornette just doesn't have any real hate towards McMahon or wants to entertain the notion that Vince is a shit human being. The fact that even after twenty plus years, Vince still hasn't just been buried by Cornette says more about his character than anything that could be said.

      If ever those sponsorship deals and internet celebrity stuff stops paying the bills, he might be sniffing at HHH's butt to see if he could get an office job... until he has a meltdown because it isn't SMW/JCP.

    Most of it was really good. But without his participation, some stuff was peddled as something universally agreed upon, or 100% fact. Like with the screwjob, it tells it as Vince was totally in the wrong and the villain in all of that. The vast amount of performers from the time, except The Hart Foundation, and Mick Foley, felt Vince was not the problem there. The rest felt that Bret was being selfish and backed Vince into a corner to where he had to do something. But they told it a certain way, because they were able to get Bret on camera. Or Stossel's thing with Schultz. I love Dr. D. But stories about him told by many other performers over the years suggests that he could absolutely be the type of person that would have done something like that in the moment on his own. So we can't confirm Vince really told him to do that, and no one else other than Schultz tells that story as fact. There however a lot of consistency when it comes to him with women. Really it's an entire industry up to this century, of wrestlers being horrible with women.

    I had a feeling when I saw them first show the trailer for it 3 days before the airing of the doc that it was gonna be a Dark Side of the Ring clipshow with a couple new talking heads and a handful of things about Vince we didn't already know. And when it aired, that was the general consensus from everyone who watched. We can only hope a bigger network like HBO could do a more thorough, in depth, and comprehensive doc on Vince.

    No wonder they didn’t promote it heavily they didn’t put much effort it was just a dark side of the ring highlight recap of their past episodes they done connecting it to Vince lol

    If they didn't spend any money making this mockumentary then of course they weren't going to spend money advertising or promoting it.

    Look sorry if I should have known better but I expected a real doc like the beginning of the show, then it jus turned into shit on Vince. I mean the title does imply it's going to be 9 Vinnie Mac tales he survived. Spot on review by Cornette here, it was a clip piece show overall.

    I just watched the entire documentary and to be quite honest as much as I know I'm gonna be chastised with this comment praising Jim Cornette's biggest enemy, there were some things Vince Russo said I agree with. Russo stated that McMahon still thinks his way of wrestling works. Yeah, his ideas and leadership led to the WWF/E winning the Monday Night War however that was a different period its 20 years later and he still believed it was gonna work today. Another thing Russo said I agreed with was how McMahon would shout to the rooftops he's innocent when allegations come about However now with this current situation he's tight-lipped. So is he saying he's guilty without saying he's guilty? Finally, the biggest thing I got to agree with Russo is that we don't know if this is the tip of the iceberg for all we know this can lead to something much bigger and much more for Vince McMahon, his family and the company as a whole.
