Why does 57.7 work in this video but in another video you say 57 is too hot? Is it Hornady Brass vs. Nosler? Very timely for me and I appreciate the video! I'm reloading some 6.5 for a buddy and I have been looking for V 560 data I've reloading some with Norma MRP and I've got some Ramshot LRT too. I assumed the MRP would be the highest velocity, but seeing your video I'm not so sure anymore. I'm using 140 grain Barnes Match Burner and I've got some 140 grain Bergers too.
@@Mrhirtzel the second video is using 140gr eldm in nosler brass. The first is the 140 bthp match with hornady brass. The eld-m is a longer bullet, different ogive shape and case capacity variance of hornady vs nosler. This likely lead to Different pressures.
@@RobsReloading ah, makes a lot more sense. I didn’t notice the different bullet. Usually case capacity makes a difference in accuracy but you can still load it up relatively the same, but a different bullet changes things. What’s interesting is Hornady usually lumps all their bullets of the same weight lumped in together in their reloading books. Wonder if they separate their BTHP match and their ELD Match in their new manual. Thanks for the reply.
QL had your top charge at only 3037 fps with 60237 psi. It uses a "shot start initiation pressure" of 3625 psi, but it says that when touching the lands to add 7200 psi to that. I imagine that at only .015" off the lands, that would raise the pressure some. This could account for some of the velocity discrepancy. Lot's of variables. Muzzle brake works great!
Yes lots of variable for sure. I was suprised by the velocity as well. Good performance though, time to try another powder! Need to get a device compatible with Gordon's reloading tool or quickload this year.
The position of it doesn't seem to be real sensitive, however the alignment aid that comes with it socks. I tend to use a straw to look through to line it up. After the initial learning curve setting it up I havent had an issue. However the first day with it was a challenge. Once you learn how to use it, it works well.

Yeah proper rings make the gun a lot easier to shoot. Labradar was more of a learning curve than I expected but should be nice moving forward!
Can't beat the ES on 57.7. Nice job. Mess with seating depth and shrink your group a little and that's an excellent hunting load.
I could probably tune it a little with seating depth, but for now probably wont mess this this load any further. Thanks for the kind words!

Any issues with the radar? positioning it seems to be the biggest pain, do you run the mic?
