These are one of the most delicious cooked potatoes known 🙃
The chef puts her heart and soul into this dish.
I didn't see much heart and soul about chopping up potato and onion and frying it.
this video could have been made in 2 minutes if it wasn't showing someone slowly chopping a potato and onion and pouring it in a pan like it's explosive.
Yum! My favorite. This dish is very popular in Germany where it is known as bratkartoffel.
MMM MMM MMM, One of my favorite potato side dishes. I sometimes toss them with a little stone ground mustard. I don't pre boil my potatoes. I layer them with the cooked onions and cover and bake. Either way De-lish-us.!!🥔🧅
I like this recipe, easy to make and very tasteful , thank you 😊
Beautiful dish my friend
My mother used to make them without boiling the potatoes and they were great but I can’t see the advantage of boiling them. Great show and a great combination!
The advantage is that boiling them, especially in salted water, starts the cooking process, makes the interior softer and seasons them through and through. Then, when you fry them, you crisp up the outside and the centre is meltingly tender. We do the same in the UK with chips for fish and chips, for example. Triple-cooked chips, where you first boil them in water, then blanch them in 130ºC beef tallow, finally crisping the outside in 190ºC beef tallow gives chips that cannot be beaten, anywhere. Maris Piper or Bintje potatoes for choice.
Keep it up!!
We make a similar dish known as "Fried potatoes and onions". We use Bacon grease and butter. They are always so delish. Sometimes I add ground beef or sausage. Yummy. We have been doing this since the day I was born in 1954. Of course, I didn't get the luxury of eating them yet. lol
Sounds great!
Bacon has too much salt - so it is really not healthy. _ _ Butter is not made for such high temperatures! So it is also not healthy to use butter there!
Looks so good.
Looks very nice . I'll bet its good and tasty. Thankyou
Love this video! Thanks for taking the time to do it right. Subscribed !!
Looks really quick and tasty!
(Hot pan on cutting board. Not good.)
It's fried potatoes and onions no need to make such a palaver over it
@janwong
Why you so mean and unpleasant. This individual did nothing to you. Jeez,,
kinda agree
@@nlt10016people on here can be such pricks unfortunately.
Thank you looks yummy 😋
I make it once in a while...
Nice. I’ll be trying that. Thanks 🙂
when you slice potatoes or onions you should take a couple of cuts off both ends and then do the center, its much easier to hold and slice the larger sections
My Mom made great potatoes and onions😊
Why bake half of the potatoes 5 minutes more than the other half? I don't get it.
That occurred to me? The only thing I can think , is slightly different textures in the potatoes, for variety. Don' know about you variety and texture is important to me. Adds more interest to the dish. Maybe iam wrong? Maybe the cook has done it for a different reason?
Hi, yes that's right - I wanted to create different textures, some potatoes softer, some more crispy. If you don't mind having the same texture you can definitely just toss everything in at the same time
@@LenasKitchenYTnoooo…. Boiled potatoes can’t be crunchy!! That’s just WRONG!!
@@countesscable they are not boiled, they are half-boiled and yes they can
@@countesscableyour brain is wrong
❤
Been eating fried taters and onions for years. A little shredded cheese at the end is nice, and if you're feeling badass, put 1/2 lb ground beef or sausage
Right? I never knew this had a name. Hungry, look in refrigerator, grab potatoes and onions, maybe mushrooms.
If you cook the potatoes in their jackets, peel and slice them afterwards, you save 70% of the good that is in them, and you don't have wet potatoe slices but dry ones, which you can fry immediately.
If you cut the peelings away (as is recommended here), slice and wash them afterwards, you 1. have to get the potatoe slices dry before frying, and 2. you keep only 10% of the vitamins and minerals that were dissolved in the cooking process.
88.6% of all statistics are made up on the spot.
I cut off the root end of the onion and separated the onions into rings.
I like the design of the white pot you use! It looks like the cookware made by Sensarte. Can you tell us what kind this is and where to get one? (And the potatoes are good, too!)
Hi Shermanbay, I bought this pot in local TJ Maxx long time ago. It's ceramic and made by a company called Haute Cuisine - can't find them anywhere online though, sorry. Looks very similar to Sensarte though! Thank you for watching my video ♥️
Am adormit.
Probably last meals high on list
In Romania we call this dish peasant's (in the sense of "rustic") potatoes
Beat some eggs, and you have Spanish tortilla.
Auf deutsch Bratkartoffeln! Hört sich auf französisch besser an 😊❤
Toss some ground beef in there.
I’m thinking green beans, although that’s a great idea.
PRETTY TOUGH PATATOES IF YOU HAVE TO SAW THRU THEM...just saying.
This could of been a lot shorter video,no need to show us how to cot potato’s & onions
Very slow worker
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I don't mind the length of the video because it gives a pretty accurate idea of how much time is involved, I just wondered why one cooks half the potatoes and onions then adds the rest to the already cooked portion. Is it yo give the meal a texture difference.
That said I will be giving it a go. Thankyou for sharing your recipe.
Cot potatoes!
“Of” been?🤣. “Cot” potato’s?🤔🤣. I don’t usually criticise other people’s spelling but, being as you commented on the length of the video 😉
