    The Roland TM 2 module is a great electronic drum module to work with your acoustic drums. However there seems to be some confusion as to how to properly format your SD card and how to load your samples. Not only that, but i'm also going to show you how to set it up so you can record it into your DAW.

    Yo I can just take the on trigger, plug them into my interface, plug in headphones and hear them right? No module is actually needed? Do they have built in sounds?

  • @mellowtron214
    @mellowtron214 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    This was very helpful, I’m considering buying the exact gear in this video (foot blasters/Rol Td2) but not to record, to listen to as I drum on a mesh head kit.
    Do I need anything besides the triggers themselves, a cable to run from trig to module, and the Td2 mod? Oh and headphones to listen.
    Does the Td2 have any decent bass drum trigger sounds? So I don’t have to import anything

    • @CameronFleury
      @CameronFleury  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just a 1/4 cable for each trigger you use. Headphones of course, and the samples on there are alright to get you started!

    • @CameronFleury
      @CameronFleury  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot of the samples are from an old module and from the Tm-2. You can edit them inside any DAW, you just need to make sure you export them at the proper bit rate.

  • @simcajon9445
    @simcajon9445 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    hi, I have recently got the TM2 and I wanted to know if it is possible to use the effects (delay, reverb, distortion, etc.) with the trigger alone without selecting any sound

    • @CameronFleury
      @CameronFleury  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      From what I understand, those effects can only be applied to a sound that is already being triggered. Don't quote me on that, though.

    Hey my dude, very comprehensive video, but I can't seem to get my DAW to register any signal from my module. Do you have any ideas on what I could be missing? I'm super new at this, just reaching out for some help!

    • @CameronFleury
      @CameronFleury  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. Are you sure the routing into your DAW is correct? Is your module output level high enough? Could be anything in that signal path.

    • @lloydhider4584
      @lloydhider4584 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CameronFleury thanks for getting back to me man. i've played around with it a bit more, and i can now receive a signal (but no sound) so I have to add my own effects to the signals. is there an easy way to simply record the sound the module produces? I use reaper through a focusrite 18i20 if that helps at all. (would you even recommend a different daw?)

    I have question/issue, when I export the kick sample wav file on on to my sd card and turn on my TM-2 the exported file shows on my module and ill get the kick sample in on 1 but 2 has a different sample but its all under sample by name

    • @CameronFleury
      @CameronFleury  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So, both input 1 and 2 have the same sample name addressed to them? You need to go back through the manual to make sure 2 things are in order. You need to make sure that your samples are the correct bit rate, and you need to make sure that your settings are properly setup. If you don't have a manual then follow this link for a digital version: www.roland.com/ca/support/by_product/tm-2/owners_manuals/

  • @GG-gr2px
    @GG-gr2px 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    So, this thing is just ON/OFF triggering of sounds?
    No velocity variations?
    No dynamics?
    I guess they are only good for loud drumming, not slow or sensitive parts, right ?
