  • Or why projects you think are not going to take that long always take way longer than intended.
I still had fun though. 18th-century tie-on pockets can be a lot of fun, and these definitely were. Not to mention how they are really excellent projects for practicing new techniques and using up some of the scrap fabric that is always piling up from other projects.

My favorite is embellishment. So, the extra embroidery looks wonderful to me!

My favourite is the embroidered pocket, but they are both lovely. I had not thought about feather stitch having most of the thread on the topside, that's useful to know. Very much enjoyed the goodbye kiss from Enya at the end!

The featherstitches are so neat! And the little embroidery added is very cute! (And the few colors of embroidery floss I have would actually work well for featherstitches with leaves and tiny flowers 👀)

      How exciting!
I was given a box of embroidery floss. So my projects are largely dependant on what is already in there. 😊

The embroidery is AMAZING. And I love the fact that you used it as both decoration and pad-stitching. Congrats on the amazing pockets!

Both sides are beautiful. If it had been me, I would have mixed plain and decorative on the same pockets.

This is so helpful. I didn't know the name feather stitch. I'm planning some embroidery for a quilt top. 💙
