Hussifs and sewing kits never really went out of style. I found several modern ones in my museum browsings, and that makes it feel extra nice to continue the tradition. Not to mention that we could do it using scraps. Even though the mountain of scrap fabrics is still rather excessive!

I'd love to nominate you for the most wholesome and realistically positive sewing youtuber. Your hussif is gorgeous, and arguably perfect as it is, since it has all the functions that you need it to have, and all the beautiful trimming and special details that make you enjoy using it! 🧡
I have to agree on the perfectly-not-perfect-but-perfectly-functional. It became such a personal and special little project to me. 🥰
I second
Your videos always feel like a short, wholesome visit to an old friend, even though we’ve never met ❤ thank you for your unique content
I am honoured to provide a friendly rest amidst a lot of the internet chaos. ❤️
🖤 Wonky but Functional 🖤
I am currently working on my first knitting project since about 20 years and after yanking the first few rows several times, I decided to put the whole thing down and not come back until I was ready to accept that philosophy, so it is nice to put this on in the background and hear you say that.
I hope it helps you feel comfortable enough to do the things. ❤️
Your videos are so soothing and relaxing. You really deserve more recognition for your work!
I am happy you find them relaxing. 🥰
lovely
RE: lining and embroidery - pretty is important. When doing a chore that does not enthrall me (like mending), pretty puts the spring in my step.
That is very true. And we deserve to surround ourselves with pretty things. 😊
I really love seeing all the different variations of hussifs that sewists make. I like the idea of a scrap thread bag. I think I will incorporate that in my hussif too!✌🇨🇦
I am so glad someone else likes the scrap pouch too! I don’t like leaving clippings everywhere, especially if I am a guest at someone else’s home, so this just solves that wonderfully! 😊
I have a small scrap bag in my hussif too
I was so happy to see you add the button to the pocket! It was the perfect finish touch. Right now I am using a mason jar as my portable sewing kit, but I am inspired to make one like yours.
Mason jars are eternally useful for just about anything though! But I have learned that too many glass things when traveling tends to get a bit heavy. 10 out of 10, recommend little cloth rolls. 🥰
Yes! Follow the joy :D
Again a lovely and peaceful video!
Thank you! Joy leads us many interesting places! 😊
Thank you! Great video: inspirational, informative, cat-friendly.
Oh this is lovely.
I love the rustic but neat look of it, it's very... Restful? Cheerful in a chill way.
I am glad you find it restful. I am certainly not regretting the green pop of colour. 🥰
@@KristineVike the green is very cute!
Soot is your purrfect guardian of the scrap pile! Excellent project!
She is the best guardian! Although she also runs off with pieces of wool when I am not looking. 😅
@@KristineVike Maybe the wool has greebles, and she's working on getting rid of them?
Ahh this is EXACTLY what i was looking for (making a mending kit for my brother and his partner). Thank you!
New subscriber here from Canada. I’ve watched this video twice and will be making a Huswif for myself as well. Thank you for doing these videos.💕🪡🧵🎉🇨🇦
Thanks for this, I’m going to make one for myself. I love your attention to detail and your recognition of the perfection of imperfection
I hope you make one perfectly imperfect too that will make you smile when you look at it. ❤️
I can't find what's imperfect about this hussif . 😊
This is such a lovely layered project! 🌟🧡👍
So glad I found this!!! Now I just need to organize the ideas!!! Love watching you work!
So great with projects we can customise to our own needs! Best of luck with yours! 🥰
Thank you for doing!!
This little project gives me the fuzzy tummy feelings. I'm so glad I found you❤❤❤❤
I am very glad you found my little corner of the internet too! Fuzzy, cozy feelings encouraged.
Great lil project and excellent feline supervision
Feline supervision is always very necessary. 🐈⬛
Looks great
Kristine your knitted collar is fabulous. Love your projects.❤❤❤
Beautiful. Thanks for sharing your design.
Thank you for enjoying it. It makes me happy people still love and appreciate crafts. ❤️
just lovely Kristine. thank you for sharing
Thank you. It brings me joy. 😊
I have a tiny one that I got from my grandmother. and by tiny I mean it fits in the palm of my hand when folded up. It's great because I bring it with me everywhere, with a few bobbins of thread rather than spools, and more than once I've had to bring it out because of buttons needing mending. Or had a friend that had an accident that causes a tear in garment and needed emergency mending.
That sounds amazing, what a lovely heirloom!
I had to subscribe to you and have given your videos I have watched today a thumbs up. I love what you do and the soft hominess of your channel. I feel completely comfortable and relaxed here while learning new things. You will be up to 10,000 subscribers soon. I hope you have a lot of videos to watch. I will be checking more out. This is the first time I have seen you pop up on my feed. Blessings P.S. I'd be interested in what all the gadgets are in your jar sitting near you.
I FOUND IT! Thank you for posting. I like how yours isn't ALL pockets.
Its so beautiful , and a good idea , ive been thinking of making one my self for a Long time of wool , vintage pattern textile, and embrodery , I’ve also been thinking of making a beautiful pocket bag that is tired around the waist with a ribbon 🤗 , did you make one ? I enjoy your beautiful videos , thank you for sharing 🙏🏻
That sounds like it will be an excellent little project!
This is beautiful --- thank you so much!
wow... such a great idea. And a beautiful and practical make indeed! I want to make one too!
I hooe you do! 😊
I found your channel this morning. Wonderful! I use a Japanese bento box with 3 boxes that fit inside a carrying handle for my thread and needlepoint pieces. I take the pieces outside for the birds and small animals to use in their nests. I will be spending the rest of this day watching You so must get to it!
Just found your channel this morning. I LOVE IT. I live in an 18th century house. Love sewing by hand. Knitting. Spinning. I think I was born in the wrong era. Your videos are fantastic.
This is making me want to send you some silk velvet!
Love it
Great job !!!
I've been in a bit of a sewing slump after getting stuck on a big project which has been refusing to Turn Out As It Should at every step along the way, and as such is still in the naughty bin totally blocking the flow of creative sewing energy. Perhaps a small fun scrap project like this would be the perfect way to knock that creative blockage free.
Yes, knock the blockage with something fun!!
Sometimes I also lower my expectations if a project refuses to cooperate. It’s not doable with all projects, but sometimes just doing what it takes to get it out of the works in progress pile has me feeling so much better!
Hi, love your videos. Could you point me where I can get the pattern for your green knit (?) collar/shoulder warmer? Looks cozy.
It is called Silver Leaf, by Drops design. I deviate slightly from the original, but the pattern diagram is there.

@@KristineVike thank you, got it in my queue of things to make. Already got walking skirt and sleeve protectors done.
Dear Kristine!
The green cowl/dickey you are wearing ... 😻
Did you use a pattern for it?
Or would you make one up?
As always enjoying!
It is “Silver leaf” from Drops. I didn’t use the same yarn, but I really like it.
