I think Where Owls Know My Name is just such a great album that it was hard to follow. The Work is good but dang WOKMN is great. That said, IV might be my favorite of these four tracks.
I’ve been listening to all four albums back to back in chronological order, it really does a lot to highlight the thematic differences of each one for me, and how much the band has changed and advanced in composition. I wanna know how they’ll progress from here, but of course it’ll take a few years. Or maybe they’ll call it quits, who knows
I discovered Rivers of Nihil not long ago, with Where Owls Know My Name, and I immediately liked it. I quickly discovered Monarchy, then The Conscious Seed of Light. So I discovered everything out of order, but I must say that I really like the progression in time from the 1st to the 3rd album, and now to The Work. What I tend to listen to is closer to the 1st album, and it's very different between the 1st and the last, but everything is so well done!
The work really sounding like a farewell album to me, don’t know if the band is going to end completely or if maybe a member or two plans on leaving and calling it quits but it really sounded like a farewell to me. Unless it was just meant as a farewell to this four seasons album thing they were doing
@@milkman2266 I think after the second last track on The Work, the album could have ended just fine. Terrestria IV gives me in some parts slight WOKMN vibes. Also the title Terrestria connects all their albums to make them look like a series. All that makes Terrestria IV feel to me like a post credit scene. So i feel like there has to be a continuation.
Would have been even sicker if they had the foresight to write the songs so that they transitioned into one another across all these albums. That's asking a whole lot tho. Love these tracks no matter what!

Will we ever see the other side? Are we really who we're meant to be? Slow down, just do this work with me Are we still alive? (Still alive) Still alive Will we ever see the other side? Will we ever see the other side? Do the work (also, Thaw is to (cause to) change from a solid, frozen state to a liquid or soft one, because of an increase in temperature, so technically everything comes full circle and its beautiful)
well, Work ends like Thaw starts, it has the same motif. so there's that at least. If I am not mistaken, also a small portion might be in Thrive, but not as prominent.
when i saw the track listing for the Work come out, i got excited for the continuation of Terrestria. this really puts them all together, but still i'm excited to hear all the albums consecutively
The first 3 are so good. I was hyped for their classic Terrestria instrumental on The Work, only to have vocals and some really shitty simple guitar harmonics. Bleh. The drums did get technical for the first time on the album, though.
II is probably my favorite because of how well it fades into Circles. IV is such a great track on its own
This band has always been an All Star team. And will continue to be one.
I think Where Owls Know My Name is just such a great album that it was hard to follow. The Work is good but dang WOKMN is great. That said, IV might be my favorite of these four tracks.
I think Terrestria 4 is the best song they've ever written. It combines elements of all 4 of the albums, and completes the cycle.
fun fact : terrestria IV ends on the same note as terrestria I is starting .
oh that's neat! just came from a interview where brody said the terrestria tracks would work great as an EP! Well, here it is!
I haven't seen / heard this interview, but I had already made a video with Terrestria I, II and III. I wanted to do one again with IV
Where find interview please
@@reivaxyec1118 and every subsequent album… your work is never truly done
I can’t watch this because I want to listen to Rain Eater by the time Terrestria II hits
The 3d track is a masterpiece
It took me a while to realize the outro to terrestria IV is the intro to terrestria I

THE WORK

I'm in love with this melody/theme. I really love this concept

Amen for this mein freud.
Obrigado de hecho.
Just realized Terrestria IV is the same length as I, II, and III combined. Wonder if there’s any significance to that.
I don't know, but thanks for that remark, I hadn't paid attention
I feel like you just found one of the bands Easter eggs 😂
Maybe it's to show that the work continues, no matter the status of your condition.
They're making you do the work!
It's also the only one with vocals
A very interesting band this RoN. Imma observe this band closely from now on.
Ha! I was JUST thinking today about how I should put a Terrestria playlist together. Now I don't have to!
Enjoy, and play it again ! 😎🤘
Thank you for putting this together.
You're welcome !🤘
This is badass. Always wondered what they'd all be like together!
Enjoy ! 😎🤘
Pretty amazing stuff, was introduced today and blown away. 🙏🙏🙏
Lyrics:
*
Spring is here, may the fires of life dance forever / In summer, the sun will guide us to the sea / And with fall, frailty/
*
Stay
Awake
This winter is not forgiving
Stay
Awake
Our work is never ending
Hurtling toward apathy
I can't stay awake for the life of me
Succumb to the pressure (Pressure)
Give in to the silence and serenity
It's not like it matters
No hope, no sense of security
Watch my mind scatter
We're all less than what we're meant to be
(Hallelujah) My world is static grey
(Hallelujah) Watch it all decay
(Hallelujah)
This world is static grey, watch it all fade away
(Hallelujah) My heroes fade away
(Hallelujah) Launch them into space
(Hallelujah)
My heroes static grey, launch them all into space
Beyond the void from which no fucking sound escapes
Let's do this work
This tower's crumbling
There's no more riches to obtain
We're just caught in this cycle
This old tower's crumbling
This whole thing is coming down
Hold your hands and pray
We worship static grey
While we work the days away
Hallelujah
Let the work be done
We're all caught in an endless cycle
It feels like a premonition
You've seen it all before
It's knocking at the door
Bury me so I might grow
What's the use, we're dying so slow
There's so much tension in here
But no release is near
I can only push this thing so far
These words
A jumbled translation
Of the beauty that we live
(Of the beauty that we live)
Even when it's paycheck to paycheck
Can we make it out alive?
Will we ever see the other side?
Are we really who we're meant to be?
Slow down, just do this work with me
Are we still alive? (Still alive)
Still alive
Will we ever see the other side?
Will we ever see the other side?
Do the work
(also, Thaw is to (cause to) change from a solid, frozen state to a liquid or soft one, because of an increase in temperature, so technically everything comes full circle and its beautiful)
I love ho wither flows into work. Would be cool if the other two did something similar.
well, Work ends like Thaw starts, it has the same motif. so there's that at least. If I am not mistaken, also a small portion might be in Thrive, but not as prominent.
Listening to the 4 songs again, it seems to me that part of the motif comes back in each song. At least in part. But maybe I'm wrong
Thank you for this. Great quality, sound and mixing.
Thank You !

I discovered the group not long ago, and lately, the 3 albums have been playing a lot here, happy to add The Work!
Genialt!tak fra Danmark!!
Thank You !! 🤘👍
19:00 is ridiculously emotional
Thanks for creating this!
You're welcome, but It's Rivers of Nihil that created, I only compiled, I didn't do so much 😁🤘
I love how they progressively got longer
They don't. The 3rd song is shorter than the 2nd.
Yes, the 3rd song is shorter than the 2nd
Happy Wither, everyone.
great work! ♥♪♫\m/
Thank You !! Enjoy !!
Brilliant idea, man.
Thank You ! 😎🤘
I love owl
So glad someone did this 😂
😎🤘
I want to scream with you guys so bad
whats the concept between these?
I found it nice to compile the 4 songs, nothing more
I forget the order but each song represents each of the 4 seasons
@@jbasti227 Probably also represents the rise and fall of the empire of 'Terrestria'.
@@reivaxyec1118 You are on to something..

Too bad The Work fucking sucked except a couple tracks
True
I really liked Owls, and I thought they'd never top that album.
That being said, I think I like The Work more tbh
@@ryansadauskis you must be musically handicapped
I always skip wither
Personally, I find it a very nice interlude, which fits beautifully in this album!
