Ssd are the saving grace for old computers, I know a lot of people that got rid of their older computers because it felt so slow but if you upgrade the storage for an SSD instead of a aging hdd, it makes it feel like a brand new system most of the time, and for browsing and stuff it's still is perfectly usable
I've bought much cheaper computers off of eBay and some of them weren't even auctions. They were "Buy It Now" listings. Recently, I bought a lot of two thin client PCs for a total of $14.02 USD and the funniest part was that despite the PCs both being in very poor cosmetic condition and one of them was super dusty, they worked just fine and the hard drives weren't removed. Luckily, the hard drives were wiped. It's amazing how cheap computers can get on eBay.
It’s really luck of the draw. Sometimes you can get them for really cheap, other times they are more pricy. My best deal was probably getting a thinkpad t530 for $140 including upgrades. It was only $30 for the base system. It came with a dual core i5 and 4gb of ram, but I upgraded it to a quad core i7 and 16gb of ram. It was even the model with the dedicated NVS 5400m. They aren’t great dedicated graphics, but better than the igpu.
damn right ive i told my friend yesterday my laptops 300$ can run games i wouldnt believe it could even run and plays 4k fine and it should last a long time u can buy entertainment for like 20 bucks emulators roms if u know u know
yeah the controller issue is that by default Windows 7 doesn't include Xbox controller drivers, in fact, back in the day when Microsoft sold Xbox 360 controllers "for Windows" they were just a regular 360 controller but with a DVD that included the driver, some third party controllers also included a driver disc, I had one and it came with a little disc to install the drivers, but since my laptop at the time didn't have a DVD drive I had to download them from the internet, turned out the controller didn't use any sort of specific drivers, it was just an Xbox 360 controller and used the Xbox controller drivers
Got my current machine (HP 290 G1) from eBay earlier this year for about £50 ($63.91), has a 7th gen i5 processor with a 256GB SSD (had a fresh copy of 10 on it) and 8GB of RAM. After upgrading it to 16GB of RAM and installing a GTX 1650, it's now a pretty capable entry level gaming PC that can play some of the newer titles to a decent enough level and it's super quick! The SSD really made a difference! It really shows how cheap you can buy an office PC from sites like eBay and how you can turn them into a pretty solid modern day machine.
People who watch smaller content creators and just compare them to bigger content creators kind of ticks me off. Yes, that's probably who inspired them to be a content creator. Just because you see similarities doesn't mean they're trying to copy that person's video's
I own one of those(used to be in my old school, they got replaced with laptops) and I have 3, one from 2009(works, but motherboard or CPU is damaged, I replacement CPU’s and none of them work),2010(I think) and 2012(doesn’t work)
I think the reason for jelly car having 300x200 as a resolution is because it was also released on the DS, and the steam version may be a port. I really don't know the real reason, but I do know I used to play jelly car on my 3DS.
My dad found 2 computers almost exactly like that in a dumpster at his work. neither of them would boot until I put different ram sticks in them. The only difference between them and your computer was the sticker said Windows 7 instead of 8. The hard drives had been wiped, so I installed Windows 7 on them, and it barely worked, but when I installed Linux, it worked like a charm.
Just bought the same one has an i3-4150 8GB RAM and a 128GB SSD for around 40$, I have a spare i5-4460 so im gonna pop that in aswell as a GTX 1050. Gonna give this to my Sister as a christmas present cause she wants to play Sims 4 again and will work well for simpler games too.
My first brand new PC was an i7 of this generation. They still hold up very well today. Just need a GPU and you can fly with that little guy. Something like a 1050Ti doesn't need PCI-E power connectors!
I remember seeing those computers during high school. Also my friend has a much older Thinkcentre that was from the IBM days which runs Windows XP and he uses it to run this cool arcade emulator machine
You guys are probably not going to believe this. But, I have the exact same pc that I still use. Instead mine has windows 10 pro, a i5 3470, and 8 GB of ram. (Can't forget the integrated graphics.) Also good video!
Guess what, I have these exact computers at my school. Just have been trying to figure out how to use a USB to boot off this thing. To reinstall windows. Since the last batch left it woth quite a bit of viruses.
I have that same computer and I use it to practice DJing at home (When I'm not gigging) it runs the dj software with no lag, I upgraded the memory to 16 gigs.
I have a similar computer (which is my main PC) from the same era It has i5-3470, 14GB RAM, and I plugged in a GT 1030 GDDR5 which plays games just fine (I really need to upgrade now i know) Edit: it is HP Compaq Pro 6300 SFF
Well, this kind of pcs are actually pretty capable,I used as my daily driver a couple of dell optiplex,390 and 3010,the first with i3 2nd gen and second with i3 3rd gen, both with 8 gb or ram and windows 11,I used them also for light gaming, such tboi or Minecraft. 390 mobo is dead,I trown it,3010,I gave it to a friend of mine, now has 500gb ssd and 16g of ram and is really snappy, even with Windows 11 on it. He uses it mostly with Autocad.
Internet coincidences happen. Michael MJD and action Retro realeased videos on the same pcs withing hours of each others. Always room for a different view.
Don't worry, this didn't feel like a Bringus Studios video because you didn't immediately indicate you were going to install SteamOS on it

The fact that thing can run portal with 4gb shared between the cpu and the GPU, with aero enabled, is simply incredible
4:01 Oh look it's a mouse stolen straight from my high school computer lab
Also despite the fact that GD says it can run on XP or newer... you need a completely separate program just to launch it on 7
9:57 "hum? ten MILLION"

You got a really good machine for the cheddar that you laid down on it. With some parts like GPU, Linux, and a better monitor. Cool video!

they both seem inspired by Druaga anyways. And Druaga was probably inspired by someone else. There's no such thing as a wholey unique idea.
The Windows 8 license that is installed in the uefi bios should be sufficient to run and activate Windows 10.
I have found yet another great tech content creator. It's like a black hole. They never end.

To get the Xbox 360 controller working, you need the Xbox 360 controller for windows software.

I'm like 51% sure that the single stick of ram is holding the system back and that's what might explain why games run much better at lower resolutions
This is pretty much just a bringus studios video
