Does your tailgate open and close easy? Mine gets stuck with the cover and I can’t loosen the back clamps to move it. The wing nut is the only thing turns. Nothing else moves
Sometimes the tailgate will slightly touch the tonneau cover but overall it wasn’t too hard to close. You might have to move your tonneau cover forward on the bed? I have a roll up version on now and the tailgate barely touches the cover.

How is it holding up after a year? Looks like it lays pretty flat which is what I want.

The tail clamps on mine won’t clamp to the brackets. Too short, wtf.
Did you try adjusting the length of the clamp? Also there should be 3 different positions that you can set the clamp.
Yeah I had to keep twisting them down all the way down to the end of the screw and eventually with some trial and error got them to finally attach. Thanks.
Yeah mine were the same way, I believe they ship them that way.
One more question for you when you get a sec. Do your weather strip squares actually stop water from leaking in from the bulkhead corners? Rained today and had some water in the bed. Figured it’s not actually advertised as a fully waterproof cover so maybe that’s to be expected.
It doesn’t rain much in California but i usually park in a parking garage at home and work. But I really don’t expect it to be 100% waterproof. Just like your vehicle the seals are good but it’s not 100% waterproof. But I haven’t seen much water in the bed of my truck.
Why didn't you install the seal strip?
The tonneau cover seal itself is pretty tight so it’s not really needed.

It’s in the instructions but mine has yet to leak without a seal.
To add to this, I installed the seal strip initially because that's what the instructions say, and the seal in the front two corners of the bed was awful. At least for 3rd gen tacomas it fits much better without the bulkhead strip
Those safety straps face the wrong way thats why you have to fold it strangely
Yeah I tried it the other way too and the straps are in the way of turning the knob.

No way that's waterproof, doesn't cover the tailgate
Well maybe water resistant? Because it keeps majority of the water out and yes it does cover about an inch of the tailgate, the tailgate is really thick.
I can confirm that after 2 years it is pretty much waterproof.
After washing it, rain, or even running through the car wash still haven't had any issues.
