Because Mr Spencer it's apparent that your a true fisherman just by they way you fish and respect the fish and handle them your character and integrity shows by you're actions just a good ole country boy
Hey bud I've got to say that I love going back through your videos and see your dedication to your Craft. And the awesome woman you have to understand the love her man has of fishing. Every man should have a gal like her. Love your videos and please keep them coming and I'll be watching. See ya brother. Moon from hicktown central Oregon.
What a nice fishing day, Spencer! In my experience big bait gets more bites, although with a lower hooking ratio, but I’m a rookie lol. Comparing Skip to Chewbacca was hilarious lol.
I'm not a fan of small dogs. But that skip cracks me up.last video you caught a giant and asked skip if he cared. He didnt. And then you said he was living on the edge as he stood on the side of the boat for some reason I lost it.. I hope skip catches a giant.
Whenever i visit a spot known for big fish, i almost always manage to catch the smallest example of the target species anyone has ever seen. I love it when someone asks about the smallest catfish, and i get to tell them about how i usually catch around 3 inches of catfish any time i fish the Mississippi or neosho rivers.
If you want to get bit get you gland in your hand🤯. Id be hanging me some straight down. Great fish and great vid and keep your powder dry and your pantry stocked young man 😎💪🙏🏻
Nice blue! At that depth your net lead-line would of had an opening of about 12-15 inches diameter. 6 foot 3/8th at 1 lb a foot is already becoming a "bell" shape by 6 foot depth. I do throw my 12'-14' baits in deep water, 20-30 feet, but it's the cast and close method. Cast, immediately take 4-5 steps from the bow towards the stern as I'm winding the pull rope getting the lead-line to circle under the bait, hopefully it's closed by 6-8' down. That's on schools surface down. Even my mullet 12' X 1" at 1 1/2lb a foot or the 14' X 1 1/4" at 1 1/2lb a foot I seldom use in more than 10-12' of water-preferably 8' or less.
Hey spencer are you using the 10/0 HTT madcatter hooks? If not they look very similar. I switched from diiatchi to the mad catters and my hookup ratio for big fish seemed to go up. Awesome vid as always, fish on 🎣
New subscriber here! Great videos, about to order 6 new piscifun reels, curious why you went with the alijoz 400 vs the chaos xs 6000? Obviously there’s a price difference but you’re using more of a musky tranx style than what most people use for catfishing
More drag with a rigid one piece frame that improves durability. Louder clicker. Power handle gives more torgue while fighting big fish. I love those things. Definitely recommend the 6:6:1 gear ratio for anchor fishing or dragging. I only use the 8:1:1 for bumping.
Ive seen so many of your videos and i know its a reoccurring question or topic you mention. What's your spread look like in distance when in the boat compared to babk or kayak? I'm sure the layout of the bottom has something to play in the decision?
I vary the distances to avoid tangles. That's really about it. Gotta pay more attention in the boat, because I'm using a bunch of rods and they're closer together than the bank.
We talked about fishing this lake a few weeks ago at the king Kat tournament captains meeting..all I said the grass was to thick to fish lol your all over where we fished when we was there..
Man I sure would like too see you come to Kentucky and fish lake Cumberland there is a boat dock called Burnside Island and I know from experience that they are giant flats blues I know some personal commercial fisherman who have caught monsters I know you'd catch fish
You ever use treble hooks or think they're better than regular hooks? I ask because I was given a decent amount last year. When I was younger, the general theme was to catch catfish with treble hooks but seems a lot of people just use some kind of single hook.
There is another place that's in Monticello KY just past somerset KY that's called Conley Bottoms I know you'd catch fish there especially big Flat head there is a lot of flats in Cumberland I know for a fact only because my dad worked for the state and he had a diving team that went below Cumberland Falls to search for a missing persons body and what they saw giant flats I've met and known people that have caught and seen giant flat heads they are more giant flat head catfish in lake Cumberland than any other catfish I know for a fact that are flat heads in Cumberland that weigh over 200 pounds plus
Did I miss something??? Where is Woody? If thats not correct I mean the other nice pooch....hope Im not bringing up a tender subject and apologize if I am and apologize if I screwed up the name too...just been wondering where he disappeared to or why he isnt along for the ride anymore. Thanks for sharing the video regardless Mr River Certified although I feel the certification is questionable LMFAO 😂
Cmon bro you REALLY didnt go check out that floating coolor or bag or whatever? Or DID YOU and it was full of blow that floated up from Miami and you kept it all for your private stashe? LMAO 7:11

That's kind of odd. It's warm and wet over here right now. Glad you enjoyed the show.

Thanks Scott. I enjoy days like that a lot.
That was fun, I had to look up Alabama rules for poles from a comment below, Nice to know I'm good. Nice catch today, 👍
Glad you enjoyed it man. It's quite a bit different than what I'm used to in the midwest.
OH! And the 81very nice hook up! Yeah it was old and really ugly but it is still out there waiting till it's 100 thanks to you! Let Grandpa Go
Thank you for finding my Christmas tree. I will be enroute to pick it up.

That's an impressive talent. Glad you're getting some time on the water.
Thank you, I'm going fishing this weekend, now hopefully you jinx me into catching a giant 😅
Hope you catch a hundred pounder!
That blue cat was a chunk. The flathead was nice, too. It tried to twist your wrist around 🤣. River Rats 🐀 🤘
Great day guys!!
Thanks Jeff!
Some clunkers. Nicely done

Those blue cats seem to be eating well.
Tis the season to be fishing
Amen to that

I had a Brussels and he was the best dog I've ever had
That's awesome to hear. Skip is quirky, charismatic, and entertaining. Doesn't listen very well.
What kind of boat is that one ? If u sont mind telling
Woops giant flat heads and blues
But yes sir I'd really hope you can come to lake Cumberland some day especially when either pre spawning or spawning seasons comes here soon
🎣❤️nice
🤙
How dare you break that treat in half!!! Poor Skip... I wouldn't roll over either little buddy... not for half
I just caught another 40pounder in 2 foot of water. Always blows my mind how shallow they feed
You make me laugh Spencer
Man I sure would like too see you come to Kentucky and fish lake Cumberland there is a boat dock called Burnside Island and I know from experience that they are giant flats blues I know some personal commercial fisherman who have caught monsters I know you'd catch fish
How dare you make Skip perform for his food. So undignified. Lol
I've quickly learned if I don't keep him in line, he'll walk all over me haha
@RiverCertified lol He'll take over the world, Spencer. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking, Pinky?"
You ever use treble hooks or think they're better than regular hooks?
I ask because I was given a decent amount last year.
When I was younger, the general theme was to catch catfish with treble hooks but seems a lot of people just use some kind of single hook.
They catch fish, but I seem to lose more with trebles. Trebles also tear up the fish more.
@@RiverCertified Gotcha.
Thanks for the response!!
Oh yeah
Thanks for watching Jodi

Shad are OK, but if you really want to catch cats you need a couple of skipjacks
Your not right. Eating over fishing..😂
So I haven't been watching much fishing lately but I've seen skip a couple of times where is woody is he still around
He's living life on the couch mostly
Glad to hear
♥
Always catching cats on the snooze lol.. clearly not paying attention is how you actually catch a couple nice fish lol
Lets goooo
Hell yes

I always catch baby fishes… think the biggest one I caught been a 2 pounder 😭
As long as you're having fun, that's all that matters.

👍😂👍❤️👍👏🏻
Wish I could hear the drag go.
I don't know if I'd let skip look over the edge of the boat, might traumatize the catfish
Bahahahaha, you're a professional. That overrun was minimal, you'll have to try harder buddy.
You just wait. I'll get one that will make you proud.
@@RiverCertified I'll be waiting Spencer, one that takes an hour and is filled with foul language. Brother I know the frustration.
A bush
Alsome show
Thanks David.
Are your guests clients?
Sure they would be smiling if they caught that flathead.
I can’t believe you are allowed 6 poles in your area.. I’m allowed 1 line per person in my area.
Yeah that is a lot. Maybe it’s per boat
On rivers in Nebraska u can have 15 lines a person.
Them flatheads are the best
Every state is different. This state doesn't have a limit at all.
@@RiverCertified
Wow. I never knew that. Thanks..
Hear me out on this one...OnlyFlats
Shirt off cooking brats and frying fish.
That would attract an odd group of people I imagine haha
Seems like since you got the new boat never see your buddy Ryan?
Funny you mention that. Fished a tournament with him this last weekend.
