To the person who asked about visiting the doctors after not having a period for a while - yes, go to the doctors. I had the same problem (as did my older sister) and I'm so glad I did. I was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome which 1 in 10 women experience. You may not have pcos just because you miss periods a lot, but this is a big 'symptom'. Get it checked out, but don't worry yourself! X

I also had severe pain around the Ovary area, sleep apnea, both hair loss and hair growth, acne, sudden weight gain, headaches, struggled with my mental health and my periods were ridiculously heavy. On top of this, my brother has type 1 diabetes, another endocrine disorder, and my sister had previously been diagnosed with pcos. Even without any other symptoms you should still get it checked out. Best case scenario, you're absolutely fine but just have irregular periods. In that case they would probably suggest you go onto the pill. The pill dramatically helped me, though there is no cure for pcos.

In Germany plastic applicator tampons actually don't even exist in shops! We all grow up using tampons without applicators here, and it's absolutely fine. I was completely lost when I accidentally bought some with applicators in England😅

To the person who asked the question about the missing period: someone who is biologically female and of reproductive age not having a period is medically concerning and should always be taken seriously. As someone else commented, it could point to PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome), which many women suffer from; however, it could also be a sign of chronic malnutrition, overexertion, or chronic stress (whether mental or physical). It's also important to remember that you can be in malnutrition without being underweight on the BMI chart, as it doesn't take genetic weight set point, muscle mass, or metabolism into account (metabolism can drastically slow if your body is in starvation mode to prevent further weight loss, which could lead to a malnourished person being in a "normal" weight range). I for example lost my period right at the beginning of my eating disorder, having lost weight but still in the normal BMI range. Even though I was already severely malnourished at that weight, doctors sadly only took notice of my missing period once my weight fell into the criteria for anorexia. Interestingly enough, it only came back once I reached the weight I had naturally been at previously, not as soon as I hit the "healthy" BMI range! Not having a period means your body doesn't think it's healthy enough to carry a baby, so make sure to go to the doctor's and don't let them brush you off as "nothing to worry about". Make them check your hormone levels, and definitely don't let them put you on the pill to "fix" it, as hormonal contraception only simulates ovulation instead of giving you a real period! If cups scare you 100% recommend period underwear. Super comfortable so good if you know you’re not gonna be able to change your cup/tampon for a while or sleeping. I imagine they’d be fab if you were still at school xxx

In my experience, we have very different experiences of university. I go to Derby and I've found that so many people are pretty open about being a virgin, especially guys, which surprised me but what I've learned is virginity is personal to everyone some people lose it pretty early, some lose it 'late', some people prefer casual sex and others are waiting for a relationship or marriage and whatever you choose it's fine as long as it's safe, legal and consensual.

My point being like even once you have “lost your virginity” there will still be areas for you to worry about. what you said about still being a virgin and not having a bf was so refreshing. I lost my virginity when i was 17, and this was because I had a boyfriend who I am still with now (I am 21 now). Sex and when each person loses their virginity is such a personal choice, and is also very situational thing, so please people do not stress, it really aint a big deal and it is not a reflection on you. I still wouldn't of had sex probs if I hadn't met my boyfriend. When you do have sex your gonna be like oh was that it lol, it will get better tho. Omg I genuinely needed this video! Yesterday, my dad gave me a lecture about how I should lose my virginity soon (I'm a 17 y.o. boy, turning 18 tmr). I just replied to him saying that: hey ho, I've got 1000 bigger problems (i.e. A-levels this year, uni, family etc.) to deal with before worrying about sexuality. Isabelle Winter I’m doing the dele exam preparation course this summer! It’s 4 weeks long and they do it with quite a few different organisations (I’m doing it with international house) and you take the DELE at the end (the internationally recognised exam for Spanish) so its super helpful for preparing career wise because the certification is what many jobs require if languages is in the job description! (Once you’ve passed it lasts forever!) and there are different bands of difficulty you can take. If you want as more fun /summer holiday type option I’ve heard of EF courses being really nice! I honestly cannot comprehend how some people seem to built whole identities of themselves and others around the fact whether or not somebody is still a virgin, like maybe thats just my experience, but if you are the only one of your friend group who hasn't had sex yet, you're the "innocent unexperienced" one even if there are so many more parts of your personality that actually matter and maybe make you more experienced in life than they are but nevermind, you are a virgin, so go play with the other playground kids... Sorry this annoys me so much, but luckily those where immature "friendships" from highschool, life really gets so much better once you survived highschool, in all aspects haha😂there are so many "first times" that matter more than sex, like the first time you realise what love/ deep emotional connection is, the first time you consciously make a life changing decision, first time standing up for something that matters to you even if nobody else believes in. People have to stop pressuring each other into all kinds of physical confinements/labelling, there is more to a person than their body💞

This video was so needed! Your chat on having a boyfriend/virginity was literally so accurate...it isn’t a mark on your character! I ended up having sex with a guy I was seeing when I was 19 ONCE (then he moved to another country and I’ve basically never seen him since) and I’ve never had sex since...and I’m now 24! Not because guys haven’t shown me attention, but because I haven’t met someone who I liked enough to want to do that with. My point being like even once you have “lost your virginity” there will still be areas for you to worry about. Before my worries were always “oh I haven’t done it, what will it be like, will I be shit blah blah” and now I’m like “is this even weirder that I haven’t done it with anyone else since, will I ever find someone I like enough, will boys think I’m weird blah blah”. My point being it’s all in your mindset, and everyone can have doubts but just do whatever is right for YOU.

what you said about still being a virgin and not having a bf was so refreshing. I lost my virginity when i was 17, and this was because I had a boyfriend who I am still with now (I am 21 now). Sex and when each person loses their virginity is such a personal choice, and is also very situational thing, so please people do not stress, it really aint a big deal and it is not a reflection on you. I still wouldn't of had sex probs if I hadn't met my boyfriend. When you do have sex your gonna be like oh was that it lol, it will get better tho. I find that I get looked down on at times and shamed for the fact i've only slept with one person, so you literally can't win, people are always gonna have an opinion, let them crack on. Just do you and focus on loving yourself : )) x

Fran Study good for you for speaking up to him! It shows you have a greater emotional intelligence. It’s very toxic masculinity when boys especially have this pressure. If he says it again, you could say ‘that is you, I am different and I’m going to do things in my own time. Don’t worry about me! (Also it’s noneof his business!) I think the older male generation grew up with a different attitude so he may have been pressured too and he might feel that it is normal so he might feel ‘worried’ about you in his head.

Isabelle Winter I’m doing the dele exam preparation course this summer! It’s 4 weeks long and they do it with quite a few different organisations (I’m doing it with international house) and you take the DELE at the end (the internationally recognised exam for Spanish) so its super helpful for preparing career wise because the certification is what many jobs require if languages is in the job description! (Once you’ve passed it lasts forever!) and there are different bands of difficulty you can take. If you want as more fun /summer holiday type option I’ve heard of EF courses being really nice!
