Max you are allowed to work in college bars and other random jobs etc plus they have immensely generous bursaries. I’ve calculated mine and I would get 8k from oxford alone plus you get maintenance loan and you can work during the long holidays
Jade for me I listened to all the possible ones I could, I asked my teacher to give me some to listen to and you start to spot the patterns. Also I learnt my vocabulary on Quizlet with the sound on so you get used to the sounds of the words too so you can associate them in your head☺️I got A* in my listening papers and that’s what I did!
I'm at Bath and there is lots of posh twats (amongst lots of great people obvs).. if anything its worse than oxbridge in my experience because there's lots of people who are trying to overcompensate for not being at oxbridge
@@orueom7720 nope, I do Psychology, and there's a lot of oxbridge rejects but everyones pretty sound. Its more the engineering students. Worth pointing out that most people are obviously fine I've just noticed a bigger proportion than other unis haha
-Personally, I always have a list of set essay phrases next to me when I'm practising writing essays. Literally, learn them off by rote and it will help you so much when you are in your speaking and your writing exams. To get an idea of what I mean, go onto phrasebank Manchester and have a look at all the essay phrases, then look for phrases that mean the same in your target language. You can Google a* essay phrases in your language, also I find linguee super helpful -seems pretty standard, but make sure your grammar and spelling is good -READ EXEMPLAR ESSAYS. Literally this was the biggest thing that helped me. If someone in your class got a better grade than you, ask to take a picture of their essay and then go through and look at everything they did. Build up a collection of your own and others best essays and have them I front of you when writing your own. Trust me it will help so much. Also, you can ask your teacher for some -PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. I'm not naturally good at essays and that was the thing that always let me down. You just have to practice lots! Wrote loads of essays on any practice questions you have or even make up a few, and hand the extra essays into your teacher to mark. Trust me the extra effort will pay off.

I’m kind of Jealous about how early your nights out are! If you go to a club here in Leeds before midnight it’s dead, it only starts getting lively around 1am so you always stay until around 3 then don’t get in till 4 which makes the next morning a complete write off!

I go to Cardiff and most people here are on a society committee and we have to compete to be on these societies. It wasn’t really fair to say definitively that this isn’t the case at other universities as you obviously wouldn’t know unless you went there...
i go to uni of leeds and i have no time to be ill either. i've taken maybe 5 days off since the start of the year but i could take more days off in the holiday but i prefer to do smaller consistent volumes than cram for a few days. i commute for 2hr20 a day (but not wednesday this semester) and i had a cold at the start of the year, on the train at 5pm, and i had to stand and the motion made me almost faint. then i realised i was really dehydrated. i thought i was gonna puke. i've never fainted or almost fainted before so that was an experience. thennnnnn i had to drive home after i got off the train, but i'd recovered since then because i managed to get a seat after a few stops
@@lururu eh why because I'm curious as to why you wouldn't go to a uni closer to you or move to Leeds as there is some good accommodation there and it's a lovely city I live down the road in Harrogate and if I could get in/wanted to go to uni would definitely try Leeds first

Is there a larger proportion of students and professors who speak RP? I am genuinely interested about this. I’ve noticed another TH-camr become more Southern as they’ve lived in Brighton, despite being from Yorkshire, and had a chuckle about it with her in the comment section, bc I have definitely become more American after emigrating here 23 years ago. Oxford looks harder at GCSE results than Cambridge! Lots of top unis say they want at least B/6s in Maths and English though so I reckon they might filter based on that. But I can't tell you for sure!
