It is called: *Post-Hole Digger* and it can be bought in a many hardware stores all over the world.

This “shovel” is called a post hole digger. It’s purpose is to wear blisters on you hands by repeatedly hitting the ground with them in the open position and then prying the handles apart.
I have HORRIBLE memories about those days.
Looks just like my post hole digger. A common tool on farms in Canada. Mine’s just rusted, not caked with dirt.
