Honestly I think these videos are successful even if you don’t read the books. It helps you take a hard look at your TBR. Good luck with your new list!!
Good luck with the TBR. I like these videos because you get to learn about the origins of the books/how you obtained them. Hope you don't have to unhaul too many!
Hi Leandra- I participated in your TBR Harvest. I did the trick or treat board and really enjoyed it. It was my first ever reading challenge! Thank you for sharing it. I enjoy your channel so much.
Well I was not expecting that outcome 🤣 Ah I've owned Memoirs of a Polar Bear for ages and you just reminded me I need to get to it! Good luck! I'll be looking forward to the try a chapter video!
Do everything you can to save Vonnegut’s Cat’s Cradle. It is an incredible novel and one of my all time favorites. Wise and darkly funny, it is quite distinct from Slaughterhouse Five.
I read Fourth Wing only because Katy sent me a copy. I'm not into Romantasy but I wanted to give it a try just because she bought it for me and I had a lot of fun! Hope you enjoy it too. The spoilers vlog sounds like a fun idea! 😂 Happy Reading! ❤
I’ve got two books left in my 24 in 24 project, so I have hope for next year’s project. Fourth Wing....I’ll withhold my thoughts on that one since it was a gift from your parents, so give it a try. I read it but wouldn’t pick up the remaining books. Or anything else by her. So much for withholding 😂. I think I read Empire Falls but it was so long ago I don’t remember any of it. I have just recently picked up Tana French and now I’m hooked on her. I did several of your reading challenges this year and loved them. I’m going to do some again next year. Good luck with your project!
I thoroughly enjoyed this video! I love the idea and might do something similar myself as I'm thinking I want to focus on getting through my physical TBR in 2025. 👻
Memoirs of A Polar Bear has me intrigued. Just for the title. I think I'm going to randomly put this on my tbr for this winter and watch me be disappointed, because I don't know if I'm into magical realism lol.
Hi! The Fourth Wing was not outstanding writing, but it was a really fun, hard to put down, read! I I read it in about 5 hours. Not a lot of romance or sex (the 2nd in the series has lots 😵💫), but the dragons were my favorite! Also, if you like spy thrillers, Ken Follett from the 70s is great. Eye of The Needle and Key To Rebecca are two I remember from back then. I've been an avid mystery reader for about 60 years. I need to watch your older videos to see which mystery authors you like. Fun video! 👻
Love the vid! I have faith that you can accomplish your goal by the end of the year! I really should do something like this. I have books creeping out of every corner now LOL! Christmas is coming and that is the time of year, I wrap up all the books I don't want and pass them off to everyone I know LOL! Happy Reading! HuggZ
I love your videos so much! And don’t even feel bad because I have only read nine of the 30 books that I told myself I was going to read this year lol! But will I make a list for next year? Yes, because I never learned!
Fourth Wing is exactly the type of book I would like... and I just have no interest in reading it. Maybe I'll also give it a try next year. The cover for Pillars of the Earth is gorgeous. I love the architectural elements. Those are some really unique books for 2025; I will have to look into a few of them because they are completely new to me. I love Liz Braswell. I have loved all of her Twisted Tales books. I want to read the Warlock Holmes books! I love retellings, especially with magic added!! Oh! I greatly enjoyed The Princess Bride. I have it in soft cover. Can't wait to hear what you think. Wow... you were ambitious last year.
Pillars of the Earth is really good! And it reads pretty smoothly, so you'll get through it quicker than you think. I also want to read The Map of Salt and Stars. So if you're up for a buddy read, i'd love to buddy read something with you someday 🤗
I love this idea! I'm going to make a list for 2025. The book True North has been sitting on my shelves unread for about 20 years. That will go on the list. The Saffron Kitchen has been there since 2007. It too will be added to the list. I also have The Pillars of the Earth, which I hope to read for Big Book Summer in 2025. Maybe I'll put that on my list?👻I watched your video on my TV. Had to come to my computer to comment.
I literally was putting my phone down when you said put your phone down for a sec...... super meta (I was paying attention to your video, I was just silencing discord😉)
Haha love this Leandra😹 I need to film mine this week haha, don’t think I’ve read many either x I can’t wait for you to read Fourth Wing and do a spoiler vlog! I think you’d feel the same as me x you’ll like the fantasy aspect of it but maybe find the romance cringe 😹💕
I was very skeptical about Fourth Wing and didn't think it was my thing. But I read it and I was totally here for it because the dragons are snarky and sarcastic and who doesn't love that? It made all the difference for me and maybe it will for you too. There are 1 or 2 spicy scenes and I think they'd be easy to skip over if that doesn't suit you.
If you end up reading fourth wing AND decide to read the 2nd in the series LMK, i will totally read it with you! I need some motivation to pick that one up 😅
I am reading Unbirthday which is in the same “series” as you “What Once Was Mine”! I would consider it New Adult… it’s literally Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, but now she is 18 and has found her way back to wonderland! I think if you love the Disney movie you will love these Twisted Tales books! 👻
For Pillars of the Earth, please check trigger warnings before getting into it. I tried it twice already (when I was around 18-20, questionable decision) and both times I had to stop after hitting some very triggering scenes. If you are interested in the story but feel like reading it is too much, there is a TV show that, in my opinion, was pretty good. Up to where i got in the books, it is almost exactly the same (the TV show was why I picked up the book, we watched the show in English class at the end of high school).
👻I enjoyed My Brilliant Friend when I read it as well, but haven't been drawn to pick up the second one. Hopefully, the 2025 list goes better reading wise.
I also feel like I should read Fourth Wing, just because of the hype. But I'm pretty sure it's not up my alley. That being said, after you read it, you may want to check out Elliot Brooks dramatized detailed review. I suspect you'll enjoy her take.
If you get to it, I'll be curious to hear your thoughts on Water Knife. I've had it on my TBR for ages since the author is local-ish but never gotten around to it.
The Ken Follett was a slog😬 Book 3 in the Empyrean series comes out January 21st. I'm planning to reread Fourth Wing and Iron Flame in January if you wanna buddy read. 💖
1Q84 is even weirder than other Murakami. I read it years ago - female assassin, parallel realities and so much weirdness I don’t think I could tell you what it was actually about. I don’t think you’ll want to read the Follett - a historical novel about building cathedrals? If it had been written by a woman it would have been shelved as a romance. Let’s say it was very much a popular fiction product of its time.
I’ve read the True History of the Kelly Gang and it wasn’t a fave - I actually visited Glenrowan earlier in the year where Ned Kelly made his last stand - it’s in my state. 😊
"books with booty!" I have made it a mission to change your mind on books with booty. I support unhauling The Pillars of the Earth. Bleh. Your hair was so long! The Monsters of Templeton looks intriguing. "No hope!" 🤣
Honestly I think these videos are successful even if you don’t read the books. It helps you take a hard look at your TBR. Good luck with your new list!!

If you make the video you should write them down to remind you, not forget the books on there! Or put them on a certain shelf
I've been thinking of dedicating a specific shelf for them too! Good idea, Caz!
Hope you enjoy your reads 📚☕
Loved the idea. Good luck with all the books! ☺
Well I was not expecting that outcome 🤣
Ah I've owned Memoirs of a Polar Bear for ages and you just reminded me I need to get to it!
Good luck! I'll be looking forward to the try a chapter video!
wishing you lots of success on the 2025 self-destruct tbr! also, the disappointment on your face when reacting lol, better luck with 2025!!!
I really like the Elly Griffiths Harbinder Kaur series. Definitely can read as stand alones.
Do everything you can to save Vonnegut’s Cat’s Cradle. It is an incredible novel and one of my all time favorites. Wise and darkly funny, it is quite distinct from Slaughterhouse Five.
lol called out 😂 I really am cackling at fourth wing

I still need to read the cruel prince.
This makes me so excited to make my own self destruct list/video soon!
i need to to this process on my own lists and i am concered!! forth wing is a fun time!!!
It's a really fun challenge, and a great way to force you to reflect on your own shelves!
I studied In Country in my English undergrad class too. I have no memory of it! Haha! I read Empire Falls for you and you can definitely unhaul!
I thoroughly enjoyed this video! I love the idea and might do something similar myself as I'm thinking I want to focus on getting through my physical TBR in 2025. 👻

5:30 - no worries. I reread Stepjen Kings The Stand during the stay at home phase of the pandemic 😑🤣🤣🤷♀️📚 👻
Honestly i had a fun time with fourth wing! But i kinda wanna see your spoiler reactions too it as well!

I did this list last December... and I am also coming up to when that expires. I know I've read 2 at least.

Memoirs of a Polar Bear sounds so cute
I love this concept! I might have to try it myself. Good luck with 2025.

I’m always fascinated by self-destruct tbrs but not brave enough to make my own! 😂
For Pillars of the Earth, please check trigger warnings before getting into it. I enjoyed reading Bleeding Heart Yard by Elly Griffiths. I think you can read that one as a stand alone

I’ve yet to go back and watch mine for this year, but I’m pretty sure I did horribly! (But hopefully I already unhauled them)
If you get to it, I'll be curious to hear your thoughts on Water Knife. I've had it on my TBR for ages since the author is local-ish but never gotten around to it.
Oh how I wish staring at books could count as reading them.
👻
Last year's self destruct books seem to all be chunky books. 😮 That seems intimidating when it gets to November the following year I am sure. 😂
Seeing Fourth Wing on this list is breaking my heart but I can totally see you hating that book. So maybe it's for the better 🤣🤣.
You have a lot of reading to do. You can do it!!! ❤❤🥰🥰
The Ken Follett was a slog😬

You did better than I would have. So, do you want quarterly reminders? 😁
I’ve read the True History of the Kelly Gang and it wasn’t a fave - I actually visited Glenrowan earlier in the year where Ned Kelly made his last stand - it’s in my state. 😊

Oops 😂👻
I got 500 pages into the Pillars of the Earth book. Too much rape and pillage for me to finish it. I would get rid of it. 👻
