- To me this is what Van Life is all about. When I used to dream of having a van this is what the dream looked like. My van camped on a beautiful lake, fishing out of my Kayak and hanging by the campfire with my dog. Speaking of campfires it's great that Fall has rolled in and burn bans are off and we can enjoy the flame of a fire again.

Nothing better than Pendleton Whiskey and a golden retriever. Two of my favourites!
I'm a craft beer person myself. Also have a dog. Only other thing I would add is a nice podcast to listen too or some relaxing music.
Looks like it was a great trip, a man alone in the woods with the company of his trusted dog.

I so enjoy your posts .... Thank You! When I was in my 20's and 30's I had a 30' sailboat and cruised between Puget Sound and Southeast Alaska with my Yellow Lab, Juniper. Much like you do with Daisey and your camping road trips. Watching you catch fish reminds me of how much my pup loved salmon and how good it was for her. Maybe, behind the scenes, a small trout could end up in Daisey's dinner bowl once in a while. Because of Junipers education of her human, I'll bet Daisey would send me a wink on your video. Dogs are so intuitive.

I’d really like to see a video about weather or not you having issues with maintaining food or having food or supply shortages while full time traveling.
This was a real return to form. I know you've been real busy with life, building vans and helping the Little Lady, and you could still get out and camp with friends sometimes, but this video really takes us back to your bread and butter content, and I for one appreciate it for that fact. The time laps shot of the wind over the lake with that downed tree in the water was especially cool to see.
Also, that shirt = badass
Lastly, do you have anything in the pipeline leading to going out with Casey from Coyote Works or Chad from LTVL? I know they've been doing their own thing too, but I always enjoyed seeing you camping and hanging out with them when you could meet up. It would also be cool for each of you to react to one anothers new rig/builds and kits, since I think all 3 of you have made drastic changes to each since you kicked it together last time.
This is the comment I hoped to see. Life has been roller coaster over the past year. It felt good to make this video and it did feel like my videos of old. I don't have any current plans with either Casey or Chad at the moment, maybe in the future.

I love easy relaxing days on and near lakes and streams...no plans, just do whatever comes along. I've been hanging around San Diego's beaches and enjoying it but I'm ready for some camping in the mountains. I'll be headed to Cloudcroft, NM, within a week or so.

I know you’ve chosen the lifestyle that you live, and that luck probably doesn’t have much to do with the success of the channel, but you are a fortunate man to be able to live like that and still have life’s basic necessities.Too many of us (myself included) are caught up in the rat race. What you’re doing is true living.
I will be honest sometimes I lose sight of that, and its moments like this that bring back to the reality of how lucky I am. Thanks for the reminder.

I noticed your Lodge cast Iron skillet. We live about 35 minutes from the factory. They recently had their "Lodgetober Fest" where they had their warehouse sale. We racked up. I am talking they had pallets of 12" skillets for $15. We bought pizza pans, skillets, biscuit pans, all kinds of things!
Love the videos! I'd love to get out that way sometime and see that country! So much different from down here in the Southeast. BTW, I discovered David May through your videos and it turns out that he just lives about an hour away from me.

New subscriber here, Ive watched a few of your videos now and really enjoy them, havnt done the Van life thing but am thinking about selling my house and buying a truck and camper, things are so expensive now that im having trouble maintaining my household and you have shown me that a nice peaceful spot by a lake fishing and just enjoying nature and the simpler things in life holds a lot of value. Used to be an avid camper and cant thing of doing anything better than breaking free and doing it as a life style. Thanks for the inspiration and stay safe out there

Your dog looks old. With that said, it’s easier for your dog’s joints to eat with her bowl at shoulder height. With age, dogs have a hard time eating when their food is at ground level.
