Hi Lea. Greetings from Oz. Carrying spare petrol is always a problem, especially on corrugated outback tracks. Everything shakes off ! A soft fuel bladder works well and is easily stored when empty. Magic adventure into the desert. Thanks for taking us along.
I get that they're into biking but this isn't actually a problem, just drive a car. There is a reason you don't see locals ride motorbikes in the heat with the dust flying everywhere and the condition of the roads. Nothing against their trip and I think their videos are very well made, but just saying. Cars are more suited for the desert than bikes.

No we are not connected over Bluetooth, I don’t like that and my travel partner doesn’t like it either. It is just in ear headphones from shure to listen to music and protect my ears.
What a beautiful ride again, and i agree with Ryan that the quality of your videos are amazing. But one question i have; You decreased the pressure in the tires to avoid a flat tire. I am absolutely no expert, but I always thought that decreasing tire pressure off road will increase the chances of a flat tire. And there is also the risk of damaging your rim. Or am I wrong on this matter? See you next week Lea, and thank you!
Leo Comans you are correct but to avoid the flats you have to slow down lowering your tire pressure improves your traction and softens the ride. There are thing you can do to mitigate having flats. Rim locks help and there is other systems that you can but to stop getting pinch flats. Google it!
Yes I didn’t talk about this properly right in the video. In General we were hoping not to get a flat tire, but we lowered the pressure because the ride was crazy bumpy and we wanted to make it smoother/safer with having more traction. I can btw confirm that there is a risk to damage your rim - it happend to mine in westafrica. But the Tenere 700 tires are not tubeless so it didn’t actually matter that much. Still when you are out there struggling already with very difficult terrain it is a smart thing to lower the pressure - better a damaged rim than a bad fall if you ask me. 🫣

Hi Lea, amazing videos :) what glasses are those you are wearing? I'd recommend some DesertFox fuel bladders, thay pack very well when empty and can carry 3 or 6L of fuel.
It’s some Oakley glasses that have a detachable plastic wind stopper inside that you can clip on and off. It’s called Oakley ballistic M, you have to look around a bit to find the clippable gasket. The glasses were invented for military use mostly, best “sunglasses” I ever had for riding.

I’m a bit late but I had my second booster vaccination and I was feeling not well as always after a Corona vaccination. Indeed, carry a handheld gps. I always did in Norway when hiking. Openstreetmaps almost always provides detailed maps of almost everywhere on earth for use in Garmin gps devices. It’s so beautiful there. Raw and lonely. Why didn’t you fill your tanks before leaving the petrol canister? I wouldn’t dare to walk barefoot through the sand because some animals hide beneath the sand during the day. This reminds me of Arrakis or Planet Dune, if you know the books by Frank Herbert.

Wow!! When I was stationed in Germany, late 80s/early 90s, I ran out of fuel once while riding around on my motorcycle. I had to push my bike approximately 2 miles to the petrol station. It was mostly flat with a little hill but downhill wasn't too bad (hehe). Anyways, I don't know if I would've left the fuel can as I have a thing for running out of fuel. But hey, what an adventure!! Ride Safe!!

Great video presentation yet again. My only experience of a dessert environment is the Australian outback, distances are vast and conditions can be very harsh but some of the scenery is bewilderingly beautiful.
That’s something that is still on my bucket list - even though I have visited Australia on my worldtrip I didn’t drive really through australias outback - crossing Australia Inlands is still one of the things I really want to do!

It seems that on no two days one and the same spot in the desert will look quite the same. I saw so many pictures of that region and no two really looked alike! 🤗 …and I know how to make the trick with the circle around your tent work reliably: Make it barefoot with feet that haven't been washed in two weeks. Any trespassing animals will pass out. 👨🎓
Someone else was already suggesting that it was not the circle but the vibrations of the snoring travel partner that scared the Scorpio away. I guess we will never know if it was our smelling feet, the circle, or the travel partner 😂
Ich bin im Nov 2023 die selbe Strecke gefahren, jedoch mit einem Hyundai Tucson Mietwaagen :-) Mein Ziel war die Empty Quarter Eco Lodge, ca. 40km von der Grenze von Saudi Arabien entfernt. Leider wurde zu dem Zeitpunkt ein neuer Militärstützpunkt hier in der Nähe gebaut, dadurch war die Road auf Deinem Video ein Traum dagegen. Die Road ist durch den hohen LKW Verkehr der Baustelle massiv in Mitleidenschaft gezogen wurden, teilweise wirklich heftige Stellen die mit dem Auto schon schwer waren zum durchfahren. Aber definitv der schönste Wüstenteil im Oman. Ach ja, nur hier sieht man schwarze Kamele.

The funnel trick isn't really a trick in 3rd world nations (like Nigeria for instance). Its a normal way of fueling here (you literally know this as early as age 5 or 4).

That’s something that is still on my bucket list - even though I have visited Australia on my worldtrip I didn’t drive really through australias outback - crossing Australia Inlands is still one of the things I really want to do!

…and I know how to make the trick with the circle around your tent work reliably: Make it barefoot with feet that haven't been washed in two weeks. Any trespassing animals will pass out. 👨🎓
Someone else was already suggesting that it was not the circle but the vibrations of the snoring travel partner that scared the Scorpio away. I guess we will never know if it was our smelling feet, the circle, or the travel partner 😂

Ich bin im Nov 2023 die selbe Strecke gefahren, jedoch mit einem Hyundai Tucson Mietwaagen :-) Mein Ziel war die Empty Quarter Eco Lodge, ca. 40km von der Grenze von Saudi Arabien entfernt. Leider wurde zu dem Zeitpunkt ein neuer Militärstützpunkt hier in der Nähe gebaut, dadurch war die Road auf Deinem Video ein Traum dagegen. Die Road ist durch den hohen LKW Verkehr der Baustelle massiv in Mitleidenschaft gezogen wurden, teilweise wirklich heftige Stellen die mit dem Auto schon schwer waren zum durchfahren. Aber definitv der schönste Wüstenteil im Oman. Ach ja, nur hier sieht man schwarze Kamele.

The funnel trick isn't really a trick in 3rd world nations (like Nigeria for instance). Its a normal way of fueling here (you literally know this as early as age 5 or 4).
For me it was a trick when I went on my worldtrip 🫣
