I had the same problem as you with my mesh network. Turns out you can specify the MAC address of the specific mesh node you want to connect to and it’ll connect to that. Just add bssid= to the wireless prefs. Don’t put it in quotes like what’s done for ssid
@@10MARC let me know if It works for you. I was told in discord that this works. I tried it. It's either working or out of chance it is deciding to connect to the nearest mesh node. It's just weird that it isn't in the wirelessmanager documentation
Welcome back home. You have been missed 🥰❤️🙏 Great video! Looking forward to see the Livestream of the Amiga Art 2023 Contest soon, just for the fun of it 😏👍 Keep it up 😏 👍
Thanks for putting this together Doug, your tutorials are so comprehensive I always learn . Had the chance to meet you at VCF SoCal, genuine as you come across in this forum.
I got to see the whole video and must say that the PiStorm thing for Classic Amiga is truly something amazing! ARM is DEFINITELY the future for the Amiga. The A600GS marks the first true step to native ARM experience on Amiga. We'll get to see more native ARM experience on Amiga the coming years. Keep it up, Douglas. You're the man! 😏👍
Finally got myself an A2000! Well, it's like half an A2000 since I just have a mainboard for now, until I get all the other bits and pieces put together. It's gonna get the PiStorm from my A500, and I'll be nice to get it online without the need to run a cable to a WiFi bridge like with my A1200.
Finally ! I don't need to bother with that pesky Wodem anymore ! lmao. i still didn't get it working. gave up with it. No one knew the answer. I tried a lot of things though, and appreciate your help with it Douglas.
Thank you for this, it was nice to see how to set it up. I am stuck with the wirelessmanager part, after setting everything up correctly I am getting an `authentication timed out` error.
Hi, excellent video 👍 I switched to Roadshow last weekend and everything worked very well but now, Roadshow doesn't connect anymore (MiamiDX is still working). I just watched your video to see if I missed something and... I didn't see you configuring gateway. Did you modify the routes file? Thx!
Yes, I think it probably works with everything 3.x and above, probably even 2.x but I don't know that one for sure. Anything that the PiStorm can run, most likely
@@davidwright9166 this is what i did to make it work: in user-startup: run nil: wirelessmanager wifipi.device remove: execute s:network-startup (if roadshow is installed)
then use roadie to start/stop the network. wifi works fine, but as Doug stated, it eats up all the processing cycles. Michal is doing a fantastic job. I'm sure the next release will be better.
looks like the 1st portion of my reply got lost. i said that in user startup, run wirelesssmanager with the wifipi.device. skip execution of network-startup (roadshow).
Was using my 1200 with Emu68 and caffeineos and a plipbox fine. Updated my Emu68 by copying over the files to my sdcard from the latest emu68pistorm32lite and now my machine won't boot. I get the Emu68 logo when I turn the machine on but nothing else. I got to thinking it might be the config.txt file and tried commenting out the kick.rom file because I'm using actual 3.2 roms. Can anyone help? thanks in advance.
Hi, I have followed your excellent TH-cam video , but when I get to the Prismv2 software installation, I don't know what my broadband passphrase is. Any assistance greatly appreciated, thanks
Hi! can someone please point me a tutorial to do this with only Genesis and OS3.2 ? Everything goes wrong here because I dont have the Netinterfaces folder.. So I am stuck... Many thanks!
I do get that for sure - but the general configuration is the same. With Genesis you generally have to tell it which device to use (wifipi.device), and since Genesis does not always work very well with DHCP, you sometimes have to set up your address statically. I probably should do a video on the setup of the various TCP/IP stacks one day. Roadshow is far and away the best, especially since it is still available and supported, and the only one that can reliably use DHCP
Hi bud, putting my Pi SD in my PC just makes my Pc hang on disk management, I have tried using a Linux reader and still the PC won't read the SD card, how did you do it?
I would not say it is "Better" in any way. The Vampire is a quality product without a doubt. The implementation of a virtual "68080" is really cool, where the PiStorm just uses brute force and CPU Emulation. The PiStorm still has issues with CHIP RAM, although far less than two years ago. It certainly is getting close to a Vampire, and you cannot keep price out of the equation. Apollo runs itself like a business and strives to be profitable. PiStorm is more of a "Wild West" thing for the masses. I love them both, honestly, but have not purchased one of the new Apollo products since the Vampire 2. In that same time I have purchased like three PiStorms that work fantastic.
@@10MARC Even though I recently got myself an Icedrake, I just bought a PiStore32 Lite. The Icedrake is lovely but I'm just finding it very unstable. I would find myself needing to reboot on average once every 10 minutes or so. I've been given the blessing from the creator of AmiKit to work on a 12.5.0 update for AmiKit vampire edition in order to align it with the other editions of AmiKit for PiStorm, Win/Mac/Linux since the vampire edition is still on 11.5.0. Just a few fixes to go before it's ready for a release. AmiKit for vampire is pretty neat
It really is amazing. I keep an eye on other platforms, and cool things appear for those too - but the Commodore and Amiga community really seems to stand out with cool new products
Try to enter following commands in the Shell: setenv save Roadshow/tcp/recvspace 150000 setenv save Roadshow/tcp/sendspace 150000 it might improve the speed of WiFiPi by up to 50%!
I was thinking how to get the files to my Amiga and thought ahhh I will use my plipbox ! why do I need wi-fi again ? the plipbox is not so reliable, sometimes need to power off everything to reset the arduino.
Daniel, could you please explain how you did this? Did you have to reinstall CaffeineOS or just replace certain files or…? I have CaffeineOS running, after installing it following a step by step tutorial, not always really understanding what I was doing…. But it works😅 so now I’m afraid of messing it up, but would love to have wifi on there. So all pointers and tips welcome!
Github is notoriously horrible for being able to find anything. Unless a person has a link, I find it hard to find anything. Sometimes I just get lucky and accidently find something!
@@10MARC As soon as the board for my 1200 gets repaired I'll have to try it out. It has developed a blue tint issue, so I need to send it out for fixing.

They are getting to the point of being nearly perfect. The speed is incredible, yet they still are 100% Amiga feeling.

Not that I know of
Ok, I really should watch videos till the end before spending half the day trying to get things working 😂
Doug, what version of Amiga OS was this running on? Is the wifipi device driver compatible with OS 3.2.x ?
Yes, I think it probably works with everything 3.x and above, probably even 2.x but I don't know that one for sure. Anything that the PiStorm can run, most likely

That is generally just your WiFi WPA password. Just whatever secret password you use when you connect a new device to your home WiFi
Can you do a tutorial on how connect to BBS using this Emu68 Wifi. I can't figure out how to do it. None of the terminals I have used looks to work,.
