🙏Loved Dino's Drum fill at the end of The Racals great song 'Heaven'. He was the best Drummer of all the bands in the 60's! Rest in peace. You made to Heaven!
Their live rendition of "It's Wonderful" was amazing!!! Remember quite clear the first time listening to "Once Upon A Dream" album with all the images and the inner booklet. Can't forget that Dino is also an artist.
Dido the deli was the most brilliant drummer of the British Invasion, he could Coral sticks with both hands at the same time, he was hard-hitting and he had an attitude that showed he was really into play the drums. I got lucky here in Dallas Texas about 1994 when he signed an autograph along with Gene Cornish on my grooving album cover, the one with the cartoons of the Rascals. I have it framed and hanging on my wall
"Once Upon A Dream" was an expensive undertaking with stage production, etc. but it still might be touring had they kept the ticket prices real. I had tickets purchased for a performance in Baltimore, but it was cancelled due to dragging sales. I sure wish I could have seen my man Dino again!
It is a great treat to catch this entire special! I had seen bits and pieces but this is excellent! I got to share the bill with Fotomaker in the Mid West in the 70's. It was awesome to get to watch Dino from the wings.
Unfortunately because of his age he isn't dynamic anymore, he is my favorite drummer and I remember him from the 60&70's when he was the best drummer in rock, it's sad how the years robbed him of the speed and timing he one had, he basically just plays a straight beat noe with a little flash now and then!
My sister played a show on long island with the Vagrants. She was part of Sugar and Spice and said Leslie West was their guitarist, then became Leslie West and Mountain. She right?
R.I.P Dino , a great drummer
