    Ok, here is a tip for anyone who can't get the pintles off the shafts. If you look at the parts diagram there are 3 bolts going to the side of each pintle. The top and bottom bolts hold the cams on, the middle bolt, it's about 1/3 of the way up from the bottom is clamping the pintle onto the bushing that holds to the shaft. If you can manage to get to that bolt (its on the back side of the pintle as you face the machine) you should be able to slide them off easily. I, unfortunately, did not know this so I used a two jaw puller to crank the things off. I hope this help save some time for somebody out there.

      Hey, Thanks for the advice, I am looking at this scenario right now and was going to use a Jaw puller until i saw your post. Got out the book to see the diagram and now I think I know what you are talking about. Going to head to the shop now to try get them off. My Bobcat is a 642B but pretty sure its the same as what you are all talking about. Also great video or I would have never attempted this project by myself.

    I bought the jack stands, a little stand to hold the boom. And kept getting rained on out here in Cape Cod. Got pissed off and sent it to the dealer. As crazy as it sounds we are still installing irrigation out here on the coast. Between not having time and lack of experience I just went to the devil, I mean dealer. I just wonder what type of $$ its going to cost. Great video as usual!

    Is there a spacer on the backside of the pintle lever? What keeps lever from hitting up against the pump? My cams were catching on the little bolt heads. I guess just tighten before then?

    Good Vid. I have a question for you have you ever had or maybe any one that has commented can answer this. I have a 742 clark/bobcat and I am having some driving issues. Boom and bucket hydraulics work great. I have developed a problem while driving. When you first start the machine and move it it is fine but if you try to work it or just drive it for 50 yards it will start to fade from one side to the other and squall like it is out of oil. Dealer told me to check flow not pressure. I just go every thing clean enough last night to start that process. Any help would be appreciated thank you .

    • @fitzsfixes
      @fitzsfixes  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      if the spring isn't loose, then yes throw a washer or 2 in. but it's not supposed to be preloaded at idle control. the spring tensions when the levers are pressed in either direction. Make sure all the linkage is lubed. you may be binding

    • @davesutter7223
      @davesutter7223 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not to step on any toes, but every time i did a rebuild on a steering system, always kept a little tension on spring in neutral. Adjust front and back nuts to give a little tension at neutral.

      Late to the post, but do you mean "hands on the levers"? If you have joysticks, this vid wont help. Joysticks vs Levers is a huge difference. Either way, creep is adjustable... the machine running away means something is broke.

    • @fitzsfixes
      @fitzsfixes  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dave Sutter I have levers. but yeah, if yours is running away, there's definitely something more then just creep going on. good luck, and if you don't mind, check back in when yiu find out what the issue is.
